Congratulations to New ICFO PhD Graduate! We congratulate Dr. Saurabh Borkar who defended his thesis this morning in ICFO’s Auditorium. Dr. Borkar obtained his MSc in Optics and Photonics at the Université D’Aix-Marseille, in France, before joining the Molecular Nanophotonics research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Dr. Niek van Hulst. His thesis titled “Nanocavities and Molecules: Polaritons and their Dynamic Interactions” was supervised by Prof. Dr. Niek van Hulst. Quantum Technologies give an extra beat to the #MWC25! MWC25 welcomed the European Quantum Flagship for its 6th year, with an exhibition stand curated by ICFO, that received more than 600 visitors as well as important institutional visits, in particular Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security, and Democracy at the European Commission. Visitors to the stand had the opportunity to see what is cooking in the field of quantum as well as to interact with the companies LuxQuanta, QoolNet, QUBO Technology, Quside, Welinq, ThinkQuantum, IQM Quantum Computers, Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, QCentroid and Delft Circuits; and European initiatives PASQuanS2, QSNP, Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA), EuroQCI-Spain, Plan Complementario de Comunicación Cuántica and PIX EUROPE that showcased their products and services in the areas of communication and computing The Quantum Europe stand at MWC25 is just a small sample of the technology that is being developed within the Flagship, but a clear indicator of how Europe is seeking to drive quantum technologies into the market and industry and position itself as a leader in this field.
