Do you know the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm? Iberdrola has inaugurated the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, one of its most complex technological projects. Located in Brittany (France), this wind farm required an investment of 2.4 billion euros and more than a decade of development, from its design in 2011 to its commissioning in 2024. The wind farm has 62 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines installed on three-legged "jacket" offshore platforms 75 metres high. These structures weigh more than 1,100 tonnes and are designed to withstand strong winds and tides. The Sant-Brieuc farm generates 496 MW of electricity, producing 1,820 GWh per year, enough to supply 835,000 people. In addition, the platforms minimise environmental impact and preserve marine biodiversity. El parque cuenta con 62 turbinas Siemens Gamesa de 8 MW, instaladas sobre plataformas marinas "jacket" de tres patas, con una altura de 75 metros. Estas estructuras pesan más de 1.100 toneladas y están diseñadas para resistir fuertes vientos y mareas. El parque de Sant- Brieuc genera 496 MW de potencia, produciendo 1.820 GWh al año, suficiente para abastecer a 835.000 personas. Además, las plataformas minimizan el impacto ambiental, preservando la biodiversidad marina. Innovation in dairy production with Pascual and Siemens    At IDOM, we have worked with Pascual and Siemens to bring dairy production to a new level of efficiency and sustainability. Thanks to the implementation of OpCenter Ex PR, Opcenter APS and Mendix, Pascual has been able to improve quality, increase productivity and reduce waste.   The project included the detailed technical design of the MES, APS, maintenance and control panels, as well as the implementation of the OpCenter EX PR, APS and Mendix solutions in two plants in Spain, fully connected to the company's SAP ERP system. In addition, a complete hardware and software architecture was developed, including equipment signal acquisition. The digitalisation of online checklists and controls, together with real-time monitoring of production processes, has enabled Pascual to modernise its operations. Detailed production planning with finite capacity and the generation of integrated real-time KPIs and dashboards have been key to this progress.   This project has marked an important step into the future of dairy production, achieving a paperless plant and optimised management. Gracias a la implementación de OpCenter Ex PR, Opcenter APS y Mendix, Pascual ha conseguido mejorar la calidad, aumentar la productividad y reducir los residuos. El proyecto abarcó el diseño técnico detallado para MES, APS, Mantenimiento y tableros de control, así como la implementación de soluciones OpCenter EX PR, APS y Mendix en dos plantas en España totalmente conectadas con su sistema ERP SAP. Además, se desarrolló una arquitectura completa de hardware y software, incluyendo la captura de señales de equipos. La digitalización de los listados de verificación y controles en línea, junto con el monitoreo en tiempo real de los procesos de producción, ha permitido a Pascual modernizar sus operaciones. La planificación detallada de la producción con capacidad finita y la generación de KPI y tableros de control en tiempo real integrados han sido clave para este avance. Pedriatic hospitals, from Spain to Bulgaria Last week a group of representatives from the Ministry of Health of Bulgaria, relevant hospital centres and paediatric hospitals in Sofia and the European Investment Bank came to Spain to get to observe first-hand some of the international benchmark healthcare institutions, reference in the field of paediatrics. The visits, included key hospitals in Madrid and Barcelona, such as Hospital Universitario La Paz , Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus, FUNDACIÓN JIMENEZ DIAZ, and FSM Fundació Sanitària Mollet. These are leaders in highly-specialized pediatric care, innovation, management, and sustainability, making them exemplary models for the development of the National Pediatric Hospital project. Meetings with hospital directors and care specialists focused on essential topics like the hospitals’ strategies, patient-centered care, flexibility of beds within the units,  the humanization of care in critical pediatric areas. Services such as onco-haematology, neonatal, intensive care, and the surgical block were visited as they are elements that will be essential when setting the new hospital. The visits were really insightful and provided with valuable perspectives of implementing similar initiatives within the new pediatric hospital, ensuring an efficient structure aligned with international best practices. Bizkaia launches its road infrastructure innovation and sustainability plan 2024-2027: A step towards the mobility of the future On 26 September, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia presented the new Innovation and Sustainability Plan for the Road Infrastructures of Bizkaia 2024-2027. The event, held at the BAT B Accelerator Tower in Bilbao, brought together companies and agents from different sectors related to road infrastructures and innovation.   The event was attended by the Deputy for Infrastructures and Territorial Development, Carlos Alzaga. Our colleague Beatriz Chávarri had the honour of moderating a round table on "Innovative initiatives", in which several companies shared their experiences and commitment to innovation.   The main objective of the plan drawn up by IDOM is to position Bizkaia as a benchmark in the implementation of sustainable, connected, automated and cooperative mobility. This plan, which will be developed through various lines of action, comprises three strategic axes:   1. User-centred management 2. Sustainability 3. At IDOM, we continue to support social inclusion initiatives, this time through the Foundation Adecco #EmpleoParaTodas programme. Aimed at improving the employability of women at risk of exclusion, IDOM volunteers have shared with them an adapted, transversal and real vision to promote their motivation and strengthen the necessary security to successfully face the challenge of accessing a job. Seven out of the 11 women supported found a job during the programme and all the participants stated that they had set themselves goals that they had previously considered unattainable. Thanks to the Fundación Adecco and these remarkable women. ----------------- En IDOM seguimos apoyando iniciativas de inclusión social, esta vez a través del programa EmpleoParaTodas de la Fundación Adecco. Enfocado en mejorar la empleabilidad de mujeres en riesgo de exclusión, el voluntariado de IDOM ha compartido con ellas una visión adaptada, transversal y real en aras de favorecer su motivación y afianzar la seguridad necesaria para asumir con éxito el reto de acceder a un puesto de trabajo. 7 de las 11 mujeres atendidas han conseguido empleo durante el programa, y todas las participantes afirman haber establecido objetivos propios que hasta ahora consideraban inalcanzables. The SDGs as flags for our projects!   Sustainable development requires the participation of every single person on the planet. At IDOM, we respond to this universal call to action by leading projects that contribute significantly to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).   Today, September 25, marks the ninth anniversary of the adoption of the SDGs. This milestone serves as a reminder that we have a shared roadmap to end poverty, protect the planet, and reduce inequalities. However, as of today, only 17% of the Sustainable Development Goals are on track for 2030.
