We just wrapped up a Peer Learning workshop in Penang, Malaysia, with an inspiring and dedicated group of researchers in the AQUADAPT program -- supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). We hope our activities helped them to collaborate and exchange insights as they develop nature-based aquaculture solutions for climate-vulnerable communities, including people of all genders and marginalized groups in the Asia-Pacific. It was a mix of hard work and good fun for the II faci-team, this time with KENG KOK TEE, De-Ming Chau, Worajit Setthapun and Maggie Dugan. https://lnkd.in/gPEdM9Ag #naturebasedpractices #naturebasedsolutions #aquaculture

Fostering creative collaboration for sustainable development
Sobre nosotros
Inclusive Innovation fosters creative collaboration for sustainable development. We deliver workshops focused on economic inclusion, access to education, health services, smart agriculture, climate action, social entrepreneurship — these and other topics aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal mission of bringing ‘peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future’. We stir the pot with interactive workshop designs that provoke people’s thinking so they can create meaningful solutions to real problems and feel emboldened to make them happen. And we always give people a toolkit, exposing them to new and different ways of working with each other, which often changes how they work, moving forward. Joins us as we #HackTheSDGs.

It was a privilege to help facilitate the next generation of UK-Africa Physics partnerships for STFC last week. Over four days and 14 virtual hours we delivered a highly interactive agenda that allowed an international community of experts, to become valued peers and potential long-term collaborators as they explored all the ways in which they might imagine and develop a collaborative proposal for the AUPP funding call in September this year. If you have a physics-based idea which can be delivered through a UK-Africa partnership in Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania or Uganda, read more about the call in the post below. #physics #creativity #research #climate #energy
Last week, our Africa-UK Physics Partnership Programme (AUPP) brought together physicists from the UK, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda for an online workshop. Participants from 60 institutions discussed collaboration opportunities and met potential partners for the AUPP funding call. We look forward to seeing a wealth of novel and collaborative proposals built on the ideas and partnerships established at the workshop. If you have a physics-based idea which can be delivered through a UK-Africa partnership with at least one of the eligible countries, you don’t need to have attended the workshop to apply. Find out more and submit your proposal by 17 September: https://lnkd.in/dmRGQCCf Stephen Loader, Head of Cross-Cutting and International Programmes at STFC, said: “Attendees at the online workshop showed a lot of energy and enthusiasm about the possibilities for developing collaborations. STFC is really looking forward to seeing some great proposals being submitted to the call” Dominic Hurley, Head of International Relations at the Institute of Physics, said: “This was a really great opportunity to meet and speak with people from all over Africa and the UK. Every session was well organised and valuable to all of the participants, and I am sure it will result in new collaborations between UK and Africa and many fascinating joint proposals. Thanks to everyone at STFC and the facilitators for organising such a useful and enjoyable few days.”

The #convergence phase of the creative process is inherently challenging; it’s hard to choose among a wide field of potential options. But by using structured decision-making tools, criteria-based evaluation, iterative convergence, and fostering a growth mindset, individuals and groups can navigate this phase more comfortably. Read more about how to navigate the tricky convergence phase in this month's article: https://lnkd.in/eiji7Z2t #creativity #innovation #growthmindset

Choosing is Hard: Why Convergence Is Difficult. The creative process is a continual interplay of divergent and convergent thinking: making lists and making choices. Divergence involves generating a multitude of options by suspending judgment to encourage a flow of creativity. This phase is relatively straightforward; it taps into the limitless nature of imagination and brainstorming. It gets trickier when it’s time to converge and make choices, when the options generated must be filtered, refined, and ultimately, selected. Read more about how to understand and overcome convergence challenges in this week's blog post by Maggie Dugan! https://lnkd.in/eiji7Z2t #convergence #creativity #creativethinking #sustainability
