[12/12] Meet the 🥇 winning start-ups from INTECMED's incubator. 🤗🏪📈 Co2gether (#Greece) "Think Social, Act Business" plans and implements initiatives and actions for a society "where no one is left behind". They guide and unite public bodies, social organizations, private companies, and research and educational bodies so that together we can provide services, programs and actions of social cohesion, returning value to society and citizens. ---- 🎤 What are the two major challenges for an entrepreneur from the research community in #WesternGreece now? • Limited Access to #Funding: Securing funding for research-based startups and entrepreneurial ventures can be challenging in regions with less developed entrepreneurial ecosystems. Entrepreneurs in Western Greece might face difficulties in attracting venture capital, angel investors, or government grants to fund their projects. The lack of available funding sources can hinder the growth and development of innovative startups. • Limited #Networking Opportunities: Building a strong professional network is crucial for entrepreneurs, as it can provide access to mentors, collaborators, and potential customers. In regions with fewer established businesses and research institutions, entrepreneurs may find it challenging to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations. Networking can be especially important for research-based startups that require access to expertise and resources from academia and industry. --- The INTECMED ENI CBC Med project is an initiative of the European Commission, facilitated through the ENI CBC Med Programme (Interreg NEXT MED Programme). Desarrollo y comercio internacional
Incubators for innovation and technology transfer in the Mediterranean
Sobre nosotros
Although participating regions of the INTECMED project are heterogeneous in terms of innovation, they do share a common challenge: overcome the obstacle of different actors working with innovation at local level to coordinate their actions and to find synergies. For this reason, INTECMED aims to develop an integrated innovation ecosystem at local level to support technological transfer and commercialization of research results. The project will use a methodology of building resilience into risk management (BRIM) to develop a shared vision of how to build start-ups overcoming inexperience and gap between academic knowledge and business development. This methodology will be implemented by creating regional alliances, facility points, mentorship programmes and innovation exhibitions, where investors and innovators have the opportunity exchange their ideas and business opportunities. Through mentorship, skills development in business planning, the commercialisation of research results of at least 48 entrepreneurs and researchers will be fostered and at least 4 new spin-offs will be launched.
