🍰 We saved a lot of tasty talks for the last quarter of the Hacking Village! We started with a warm fireside chat with Marc Rogers from the CTI League. Together with our moderator, Martin Vigo, they discussed innovative strategies and technologies aimed at disrupting attacks, bolstering defenses, and leveling the playing field against cyber adversaries. 💼 Jesús Tejedor Gonzalez from Telefónica Tech presented detailed case studies to show how threat actors employ various strategies against companies and use deceptive tactics to achieve their goals. 🐛 Alvaro Rodriguez from Sekoia.io explained the roots of the PlugX USB worm botnet campaign. Some reversing and the legal issues of disinfection led Alvaro and the team to think about the sovereign disinfection concept. ⭐ The first half of the second day at the Hacking Village is even hotter than yesterday. We started with CTF from Marc Palau and CaixaBank, so had full house from the very beginning! So what are the highlights? 🔴 Together with Jose de la Cruz Gonzalez from Trend Micro we explored the data black market by delving inside the criminal data shops where it is being sold. 👀 Santiago U. disclosed how they at S21sec detect threats in XoT environments with MDR, and Pau Serra Jensen, CaixaBank, disclosed, how organizations can prepare for the inevitable shift towards quantum-safe solutions. 🧠 Mind-blowing workshop by Steve Benton and Jean-Luc Labbé from Anomali. Now we know, what steps are critical for elite Security Operations Centers (SOCs) during the Incident First Golden Hour, a critical period for responding to cyber threats. 👍 We discovered how to face the new challenges raised by adversaries to protect the organization in a constantly evolving digital world and got advanced evasion techniques in APT operations from Antonio Pérez Sánchez, NTT DATA. 👨🎓 Jan Kaastrup and Anton Kalinin, CSIS Security Group A/S, explored examples from real IR cases. We learned how threat actors could avoid AV/EDR detection, combat AD tiering, and bypass MFA authentication. 👨💻 In their speech on OSINT investigations with Maltego, Carlos Fragoso and Mathieu Gaucheler, Maltego Technologies, underlined how the combination of different data sources can be used in efficient investigative workflows.
