The traditional architecture of Ibiza is characterised by small windows and thick walls. This design element serves multiple purposes; primarily, the walls provide natural insulation, keeping the interior cool during the summer months, with the help of the small apertures allowing little sunlight in. However, the architecture was also originally intended for defence in mind. With the island frequently under threat, the architecture made it more challenging for invaders to penetrate the buildings. Of course these days, architectural priorities are to an extent different, and many buildings have enjoyed sensitive renovation, with these original features sitting alongside those that suit the modern lifestyle. #ibiza #projectmanagement #specialprojects

Ibiza Old Town, also known as Dalt Vila is characterised by its narrow winding streets and towering walls, and is steeped in history and local tradition, with each building and monument telling a unique story of the town's past. One of the most notable features of Ibiza Old Town is its impressive system of underground tunnels, which were constructed during the 16th century to protect the town from pirate attacks. Es Vedra is shrouded in myths and legends that have fascinated locals and tourists alike for centuries. One of the most popular myths surrounding the island is that it is the home of the sirens who tried to lure Ulysses from his ship in Homer's Odyssey. Ibiza and Formentera whilst both being situated in the Balearic archipelago, have their own unique topography and attractions. #Formentera has a visibly different environment, and owing to its small size, a natural tranquillity.
