Very inspiring two days learning about AI at the IWF Spain AI Congress held at the mind blowing Palacio Real de La Granja de San Ildefonso. I talked about the opportunities we face as investors finding AI startups. It was great to share the conference with great speakers such as Elena González-Blanco García Justo Hidalgo Victoria Gómez Joana Sánchez Jose Salas Álamo Noemí Brito Izquierdo Claudio Feijoo Jose Manuel Arnaiz de Castro Damian Ruiz Soriano Regina Llopis Elena Garrigues and Ana De la Cueva. Recently, our partner Juan was invited by Grupo Aire to the Skyline Cloud Forum. He shared the stage with leaders of the AI and Cloud environment: Javier Sanchez Rojas (NVIDIA), Esteve Almirall (Esade), Alberto Mongue LIS Data Solutions ES | Technological Consulting) & Gracia Sánchez-Vizcaíno (Securitas Group). In his talk, Juan shed light on the projections of AI from the investor perspective. A key takeaway? "It is as important to capture value as it is to generate it." This applies to all startups, but especially to AI ones. Thanks to all the speakers and to Grupo Aire for the invitation!  🙌

Last week our partner Juan attended the RootedCON, Spain's largest tech and security event. 🔒 At Kibo Ventures, we've been lucky to back some of the most prominent founders of the Spanish cybersecurity scene, who led the conference in multiple panels. At Kibo Ventures we have worked to get female talent into our funds. We have a kick-ass team where we encourage diversity and are convinced a diverse team will make us better! When I started my career in finance there were hardly any senior women in investment banking, it was hard to think women could climb the ladder in a very male dominated industry. Private equity and venture capital are fascinating industries where we aim to find the outliers, contrarians and talented entrepreneurs who will change the world. Diverse teams will have a better chance to see those opportunities. There is still work to be done but showing how progress is being made is part of the answer so young women can see themselves represented in the companies they would like to work for today.
