Lecta’s commitment to EUDR compliance 🌱 Lecta, always committed to the protection of forests and to responsible wood sourcing, has been fully aligned with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and its main target from the beginning: to combat deforestation and forest degradation in Europe and elsewhere. We have been working intensively for many months to prepare for a successful EUDR implementation. After the final approval of the 12-month extension on its full application, now confirmed for December 30, 2025, we will continue to work on the IT systems needed, verifying our pulp suppliers and activating the tools necessary to ensure proper EUDR compliance. There is no doubt that the EUDR is an important step by the European Union to fight deforestation, but it also represents a great challenge for all the supply chains involved to better protect our forests and our planet. 🌎 Within the paper industry, we at Lecta are committed to continuous progress on improvements and protocols focused on helping to create a more sustainable world. Magnum Chronicles: Insights into events shaping tomorrow’s history This week marks the debut of Magnum Chronicles, an annual publication by Magnum Photos covering the important stories of our time. This first issue is an examination of the United States through the work of Magnum photographers, published to coincide with the swearing in of Donald J. Trump for the second time. Designed by Christophe Renard to resemble an original Magnum Distribution Set and created in partnership with L'Artiere and Lecta’s Cartiere del Garda mill, the Magnum Chronicles transcends the traditional magazine format as both a collectible and an enduring record of our world. Responsible waste management, a strategic sustainability target for Lecta In keeping with our commitment to the circular economy and sustainable development, Lecta is committed to reducing overall waste generation, increasing levels of reuse and recycling, and achieving increasingly efficient production processes. In our strategic sustainability targets for 2030, we established KPI's to ensure a transparent assessment of our progress. Our latest Sustainability Report shows the significant progress made in waste management, achieving a 97.8% waste recovery rate. In some mills, up to 100% of our sludge is reused, as fertilizer for the agriculture industry, for example. 📣 Breaking news 📣 Lecta's Leitza mill in Spain has secured FSSC 22000 food safety certification The FSSC 22000 food safety standard is one of the most widely known standards in the food industry and entails rigorous audits to ensure compliance. This new certification applies to Lecta's metallized papers for packaging applications in the food industry, and brings to a total of three the number of Lecta mills certified to either FSSC 22000 or ISO 22000 standards for food safety management systems.
