MDPI UK is thrilled to have taken part in the recent JRS training workshop with MDPI Serbia. The event brought together colleagues from across the two Serbian offices, Novi Sad and Belgrade, alongside our Scientific Quality Advisor Lead Dr. Michael O' Sullivan for a day of training and presentations. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Wei Liu has been appointed Section Editor-in-Chief of the Section “Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases” in Pathogens MDPI (ISSN: 2076-0817). The Director of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Dr. Liu has over 20 years of research experience in emerging infectious diseases. She has published over one hundred research papers in academic journals, with her research leading to the identification of over ten emerging zoonotic pathogens that can cause human infection. Questionnaire responses of 400 ski and snowboard users over 18 years of age were analyzed using a quantitative methodology to understand the impact of online social influence on the emotions of fear, anger, sadness, boredom, stress, and frustration, and how these influence the formation of negative customer brand engagement. The results obtained confirm that online social influences have both a direct and indirect (mediating) effect on negative emotions, which positively affects the nCBE of online users of snow sport brands. Companies adapting to their employees’ needs is important for both well-being and productivity, as shown in a paper published in MDPI’s Open Access journal Behavioral Sciences MDPI . The paper, cited in Forbes, focuses on the self-determination theory in the workplace. This theory outlines the notion that motivation is driven and determined by key psychological needs of an individual. The article discusses how workplaces recognize the need to encourage employee autonomy. Research shows that satisfaction of these key psychological needs results in better employee outcomes. The paper also outlines the limitations found in the literature and the direction of future research. This includes further development of efficient formal testing to confirm the link between theory constructs and outcomes.
