🌊 MedPAN Workshop on Managing Tourism in Marine Protected Areas: Highlights from MEET Network We had an amazing time contributing to MedPAN's workshop on "Managing Tourism in Marine Protected Areas," where MEET Network played an active role in several sessions and hosted a side event. Here are some key outcomes and insights we wanted to share: 📊 Practical Tools for Ecotourism Management: MEET Network introduced resources like the MEET Standard, the ecotourism indicator monitoring platform, and online courses, offering practical solutions to marine protected area managers. 🌱 Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building: Discussions highlighted the importance of involving local communities and stakeholders at every stage, from planning to execution, to ensure tourism practices are sustainable and beneficial to the environment and local communities. 🤝 Cross-Sector Collaboration: Sessions underlined the significance of building partnerships between conservationists, tour operators, and local authorities to foster sustainable tourism while protecting marine ecosystems.
