Dr Juan Carlos Trujillo-Reyes, head of the thoracic surgery department at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona, Spain presented on his extensive experience and clinical results with the osteobionix chest wall reconstruction implants at the 61st Congress of the Spanish Society for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT Sociedad Española de Cirugía Ortopédica y Trauma) in Granada. Our patient-specific implants have rapidly become a gold standard in large chest wall reconstruction in Spain. We are grateful to Dr Trujillo and all the knowledgeable surgeons we collaborate with. The European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) in collaboration with the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG) held the third edition of the Chest Wall Surgery Course in Leuven (Belgium) from September 25th to 27th. The course was coordinated by Dr Hans Van Veer. Twenty-four thoracic surgeons from Europe, Asia, and South America had the opportunity to attend lectures on chest trauma repair, congenital chest wall malformations, tumor resection and reconstruction, and innovative pain therapies delivered by eight expert specialists onsite and thirteen online. The course included an outstanding cadaver wetlab, where participants practiced different innovative surgical techniques. It has been an honor for us to have Dr Jose Aranda as a trainer in the workshop on the osteobionix patient-specific chest wall reconstruction implants. Thank you very much Dr Aranda for your enthusiastic support and thank you Dr Van Veer for having us in Leuven.
