INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS: IN WHICH SECTORS ARE THEY MOST USED? ( 📸 RB-ROBOUT: https://lnkd.in/eyP6effq ) Here the ranking of the top 3 professional sectors implementing industrial robots according to the official International Federation of Robotics World Robotics 2023 data: 1️⃣ The electrical/electronics industry became the largest customer of industrial robots in 2020 and has maintained this position ever since. In 2022, it increased robot installations in the production of household appliances, electrical machinery, semiconductors, solar panels, computers, telecommunication devices and video entertainment and electronics by 10%, the highest level ever recorded. 2️⃣ The automotive industry lost its position as the largest customer for industrial robots in 2020. Despite a strong growth rate of 16% in 2022, it remained in second place. The automotive industry had been the largest customer of industrial robots since the first commercially sold unit was installed at the General Motors plant in New Jersey in 1961. 3️⃣ The metal and machinery industry consolidated its position as the third largest customer industry, accounting for 12% of all installations in 2022. Both metal products producers (without automotive parts for automotive parts, see automotive parts suppliers) and industrial machinery producers have installed substantial numbers of robots in recent years. Guess which industry is 4th and 5th💡💡 #Industry #Robotics #Automation

Wow Abdulrahman Malaikah, Congrats on such an amazing educational trip!! A pleasure that our RB-KAIROS+ has provided what you needed for this journey. And of course The Construct, which is definitely a good match🔝🔝🔝 🔗RB-KAIROS+: https://lnkd.in/dAPpgtd2
Computer Engineering at King Saud University | Co-op Trainee at KACST | Robotics Engineer at center of Innovation and creativity
I’ve officially wrapped up my CO-OP training at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) Working in such a prestigious facility, surrounded by brilliant minds and cutting-edge technology. It has been a truly transformative journey, and I want to share it with you. I started with configuring Linux Ubuntu 18.04 first on dual boot, then on a virtual machine. It was fascinating to work with Linux shells, and I quickly realized how fun and supportive the ROS community is. I was so captivated that even after my working hours, I’d spend an extra 5 hours daily researching and brainstorming how to make our project a success. I also stumbled upon an incredible platform called The Construct, which emphasizes a 70% practical approach to learning ROS, which made the process of learning both engaging and effective. The real fun began when we started working on the RB Kairos robot by Robotnik Automation with a UR5e arm by Universal Robots which is a combination usually used in industrial applications. We first started simulating in the Gazebo environment. This wasn’t just about writing code, we were creating simple nodes, simulating complex robot operations, and experimenting in RVIZ visualizer. Every step forward gave an amazing feeling, especially when transitioning to the real robot. Nothing beats the thrill of watching a robot navigate obstacles with SLAM or scan April tags with precision. Robot vision has definitely sparked my interest, and I hope to dive deeper into this field in the future. ROS learning journey document: https://lnkd.in/d8W8FzJZ But the experience wouldn’t have been as enriching without the incredible people around me. A massive shoutout to Arwa Alabdulkarim for her endless support and wisdom. Her knowledge is a treasure trove, and she was always there to guide us, even beyond work. Big thanks to Hadeel Al Ajmi for her patience and for stepping in whenever we hit a roadblock. And of course, to my supervisor Abdulrasheed Felemban who is one of the kindest people I’ve met, always going the extra mile to make sure I felt supported and engaged. Last but not least, a huge thanks to my colleagues, Omar Alghanem, Turki Alsumari and Saleh Alsharideh, who made this journey not only productive but also incredibly fun.

🔥THERMAL INSPECTIONS WITH MOBILE ROBOTS🔥 https://lnkd.in/eRew4Zkb One of the most demanded tasks in the area of inspection and maintenance is autonomous thermal inspection performed by mobile robots. Within general industrial inspection, thermal inspections are a fundamental part of industrial maintenance. Detecting anomalies such as overheating, insulation faults or electrical faults ensures that they are rectified before they become more serious problems. RB-WATCHER integrates Artificial Intelligence modules, in addition to the PTZ camera, to perform these inspections in an uninterrupted, stable and efficient way. The robot is able to detect various types of elements based on learned models. In turn, it can generate an alarm that will be transmitted to the control centre or to established users. 🔺Precision and accuracy: inspection robots capture high-resolution thermal images, allowing accurate detection of temperature variations. 🔺Safety: Thermal inspections often involve inspecting equipment at high temperatures or in hard-to-reach areas. Robots can move safely through these environments, reducing the risk to human inspectors. 🔺Efficiency: Performing consistent thermal inspections without interruption, minimising downtime in operations equates to significant cost reductions for industries. 🔺Data collection and analysis: RB-WATCHER collects and stores large amounts of thermal data, which can be analysed to predict maintenance needs and avoid unplanned downtime. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥#Inspection #Robotics #Tech

REAL USE CASES: MOBILE ROBOTICS FOR TRANSPORT TASKS AUTOMATION👉https://lnkd.in/dhUhftqn 🔺The back-breaking work involved in transporting goods is present in many sectors, taking up part of operators' working hours. In the healthcare sector, for example, IFR studies* indicate that nurses and healthcare staff spend up to 20% of their working day performing tasks that could be automated with transport robotics. The total economic cost amounts to billions of euros. 🔺The use of transport robots reduces this unproductive time. Autonomous transport robots make these processes profitable at an unprecedented rate.
