🚢 La Armada adjudica a Freire Shipyard - C.N.P.FREIRE, S.A la construcción de su nueva Embarcación de Apoyo a Buceadores (EAB). En 2023, la Armada Española confió a Seaplace el desarrollo de un innovador diseño de buque para la Escuela Militar de Buceo (EMB), especialmente concebido para apoyar sus misiones de formación y entrenamiento subacuático. Este diseño, ahora en manos de Freire Shipyard para su construcción, ofrecerá una embarcación de apoyo diseñada para realizar inmersiones programadas en cursos de aptitud y especialidad, y que además servirá como un complemento flexible y de gran valor añadido para las capacidades de intervención subacuática de la Armada. Con un tamaño de 30m de eslora y una dotación optimizada, la nueva EAB permitirá a la EMB operar con mayor autonomía y eficacia, consolidándose como un centro de referencia en buceo. Su incorporación también optimizará recursos operativos, aligerando la carga de unidades más grandes y veteranas, como el BSR «Neptuno» y el futuro BAM-IS, que podrán enfocarse en misiones de mayor envergadura. This design, now awarded to Freire Shipyard for construction, will provide a support vessel designed to conduct programmed dives within the EMB’s aptitude and specialty courses. Additionally, it will serve as a flexible and highly valuable complement to the Navy’s underwater intervention capabilities. With a compact size and optimized crew, the new EAB will enable the EMB to operate with greater autonomy and efficiency, further establishing it as a diving center of excellence. The addition of this EAB will also optimize operational resources, easing the load on larger, more veteran units, such as the BSR “Neptuno” and the upcoming BAM-IS, allowing them to focus on higher-priority missions. Our Floating Wind Ready Service Operation Vessel (SOV) hull is set to begin seakeeping tests at INTA CEHIPAR’s model basin facilities in Madrid! This innovative FW-Ready design is tailored to meet the demands of the offshore wind sector, where access, crew comfort, and operability are critical. Through these seakeeping tests, we’ll gain valuable insights into the vessel’s performance across a range of sea conditions. The SEA1528 hull is the result of two years of dedicated work within the ePROA project funded by @CDTI_innovacion through the ‘Misiones Ciencia e Innovación’ programme.
