👏 Great news from Anthony Nolan: Cell Therapy and Laboratory Services Research Data Management Project enhancing the quality of data and patient outcomes - congratulations to the award recipients!
📊🏆 Impactful Research Data Management Project awards its collaborators at the ANSAs. Tim Smith and Dr Ben Carpenter were awarded Innovators of the Year at the Anthony Nolan Supporter Awards (ANSAs) for their support of our Research Data Management Project. The ongoing project, delivered by research data manager Shelley Hewerdine, has so far improved the data for over 400 stem cell transplant patients in the EBMT Registry Database, helping to reduce the burden on transplant centres to fulfil data requests. This also ensures that more patient data is readily available for crucial research projects, such as Anthony Nolan’s Patient/Donor Project. “The Research Data Management Project is desperately needed to improve the quality of data we hold for thousands of stem cell transplant patients in the UK. It has the potential to save data managers at transplant centres from time-consuming data requests, and improve the availability of patient data for lifesaving research projects.” – Shelley Hewerdine, research data manager, Anthony Nolan. Tim Smith, data and contracts manager at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Dr Ben Carpenter, consultant haematologist at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, have been instrumental in the development of the Research Data Management Project at their transplant centres. Their unwavering support of Shelley’s impactful work will genuinely transform the long term benefits for transplant patients. “It is all credit to Anthony Nolan that they are so responsive and open to working with transplant centres in new ways to improve care and research for our patients. I believe this project is a great example of what we can achieve together” – Dr Ben Carpenter, consultant haematologist, UCLH.
