Madrid’s surfing community has something exciting to look forward to - the Gemswell Surf Madrid is set to open next to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium in the summer of 2026. The highlight of the facility will be a 56-module Wavegarden Cove surfing lagoon spanning 23,000 m². In addition to boasting the largest artificial beach in Europe, the park will generate approximately 120 direct jobs and host a 1,000 m² concert area featuring a diverse lineup of music events and performances. Scheduled to open in early Summer 2025, Atlantic Park Surf in Virginia Beach will showcase the USA’s first Wavegarden Cove, a world-class surf lagoon catering to surfers, visitors, and residents alike. In partnership with Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams, this $350 million mixed-use entertainment complex will transform the site of the former Virginia Beach Dome into a vibrant hub featuring a live entertainment venue, modern office spaces, urban residences, and curated shopping and dining experiences. Wavegarden is set to arrive in Uruguay in the summer of 2026, bringing the country's first wave pool to Punta del Este. Developed by the Donato Group, the private neighborhood of El Nido Beach & Surf Homes will soon feature a Wavegarden Cove as its centerpiece, surrounded by a beautiful beach, restaurants & bars, a surf club and academy, spa, and nearly four hundred real estate plots. The neighborhood will also include courts for tennis, padel, squash, futsal, basketball, and beach volleyball, along with indoor and outdoor pools, a lake for stand-up paddleboarding, a skate park, a community garden, a kids’ club, trekking trails, and many other amenities.

The Wavegarden Lab, located at our headquarters, is the world’s first private wave pool dedicated exclusively to continuous R&D and has recently undergone a comprehensive upgrade. With a surface area of just 90mx45m, we can now generate waves up to 2.2m high, with ride times of up to 14 seconds and barrels lasting up to 7 seconds. Another significant advancement in the technology is the ability to program solitary waves every 15–30 seconds throughout the entire duration of a session, instead of grouping them in sets with 7-8 second intervals. Recently, we have hosted test sessions with some of the world’s best surfers - Kelly Slater, Shane and Jackson Dorian, Bobby Martinez, Leo Fiovaranti, Kauli Vaast, Mateus Herdy, Noah Beschen, Coco Ho and the local surfers Kai and Hans Odriozola. Fazenda Vista Verde, a new private residential complex near Sorocaba, is currently under development, just an hour from São Paulo. Surrounded by lush landscapes and palm-fringed beaches, the project will feature a Wavegarden Cove at its heart and is set for completion by the end of 2027. Developed by LN Urbanismo, part of Grupo Luan, in collaboration with Wavegarden, this will be Brazil’s fourth Wavegarden Cove and aims to become one of the country’s most prestigious real estate projects. More than 100 Aussie Olympians from nearly 20 different sports gathered for an alumni event at the URBNSURF surf parks in Melbourne and Sydney, which are powered by Wavegarden technology. Organized by the Australian Olympic Committee, the event provided athletes from various disciplines the chance to experience surfing together, sharing in the joy of the sport alongside their teammates, partners, and children.
