Will EU Cosmetic Products Regulation Updates Affect Your Products? The EU Commission has officially published amendments to the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation (CPR), restricting or banning nine cosmetic ingredients. With transition periods starting from the end of the year, the CTPA - Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association shares with Global Cosmetic Industry an overview of the affected ingredients, including retinol/retinyl acetate/retinyl palmitate, alpha arbutin, arbutin, 4-methyl benzylidene camphor (4-MBC), genistein, daidzein, kojic acid, triclosan, and triclocarban. What is the role of probiotics in cosmetics? Euromonitor International's Product Claims and Positioning database report from late last year revealed a 78% increase in the number of beauty and personal care products claiming to contain "probiotics" between 2019 and 2022.
