The project targeted six primary schools in Elidar Woreda, where it made significant progress in providing gender-responsive latrines, MHM rooms, child-friendly #WASH facilities, scholastic materials, combined desks, and dignity kits. These efforts contributed to creating better learning environments and ensuring access to quality education for children. The project was widely appreciated by stakeholders for its effective implementation and positive impact on the school community.

  • Creating Safe Spaces for Women and Girls in Emergency Contexts ------ At Imagine1day, we believe that every woman and #girl deserves a safe, supportive, and empowering environment, especially during emergencies. That’s why we’re working to establish Women and Girls Friendly Spaces (#WGFS) in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps. What are Women and Girls Friendly Spaces? WGFS are safe, inclusive areas designed to: + Offer psychosocial support to women and girls. + Provide critical services, including health, education, and legal guidance. + Serve as hubs for empowerment, skill-building, and community dialogue. + Create a haven where women and girls can freely express themselves and share their stories without fear. Why are these spaces crucial? Emergencies often exacerbate risks of gender-based violence, exploitation, and social isolation. WGFS plays a transformative role by: + Mitigating risks and promoting safety. + Strengthening the resilience of women and girls in crises. + Empowering them to rebuild their lives and regain a sense of normalcy. Imagine1day’s Impact In partnership with UNICEF Ethiopia, Government stakeholders, and local communities, we’re: + Supporting survivors of violence through counseling and referral services. + Providing skills training to help #women and girls lead independent, dignified lives. + Raising awareness about #gender equality and inclusion in emergency responses. Together, We Can Make a Difference Your support helps us expand these vital spaces, ensuring no woman or girl is left behind. Let’s build a future where safety, dignity, and opportunity are a reality for all.
