When you work for a #quantum algorithm company and even the logo was created by a quantum algorithm 😱. How does that even work? Here is the process our Lead Researcher and in-house Brand expert Daniel Cavalcanti went through: 💡 Use quantum algorithms to find the ground state of a water molecule, which is as close to a static snapshot of water as you can get. 💡 Run the algorithm on a quantum computer. 💡 Use the results to generate a set of harmonographs (very cool hypnotic shapes, as you can see below). 💡 Realize that one of the shapes forms the letter A (and is also the prettiest!). Mind. Blown! 🤯 Here are some of the harmonographs, can you find the one that we selected to become our logo? If you enjoyed learning more about the history of #Algorithmiq stay tuned, we are getting ready to end 2024 with a bang! 🔥

Few weeks ago, on July 16th, IBM Quantum and Algorithmiq collaborative research with Harvard Medical School has been presented at ISMB conference, in Montreal 🇨🇦. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive! 🧬 Our joint project focuses on quantum walks for analyzing cell-cell communication networks. Quantum walks, a quantum analog of classical random walks, are powerful tools for investigating the properties of graphs. Their unique characteristics, such as interference and superposition, make them particularly well-suited for identifying and detecting communities within complex networks. The challenges presented by these complex biological networks provide an exciting opportunity to leverage quantum computing for gaining fresh perspectives and making novel discoveries in their analysis. The study contributes to the growing field of network medicine and computational methods for understanding disease progression. 🔑 A key highlight: our quantum walk method discovered metabolites linked to malignancy in adipocytes, which the classical method missed. This result highlights the potential of quantum walks in biomedical research. We’re excited to extend the work to new data and applications, and we hope to have positive updates soon. Stay tuned! Reducing the measurement cost of quantum algorithms is of paramount importance to make them competitive and practically relevant. We are thrilled to announce TN-ICE (Tensor-Network Informationally Complete Estimator), a new method proposed by our team that can help in drastically reducing the measurement overhead in many quantum computing applications. Our approach provides unbiased estimators for multiple observables with low statistical error by using informationally complete measurements and post-processing the measurement data with tensor networks. This method offers precision, scalability, and versatility in measurement protocols. Compared to other observable estimation protocols, like the celebrated Classical Shadows, our method stands out by reducing the statistical error and measurement budget needed to achieve specified precision. It scales to a large number of qubits and can be applied to any informationally complete measurement protocol with efficiently represented measurement operators. This advancement marks a significant leap forward in making quantum computing more practical and accessible. 👏 Congratulations Stefano Mangini and Daniel Cavalcanti. 👉 Read the full article at https://lnkd.in/dumNaDss

🇫🇮Last week, our Q3 hackathon took place!   🎯 We spent the first part of the week at our headquarters in Helsinki where, following in the tradition of our hackathons, we reviewed the previous quarter’s OKRs and set next quarter’s focus in line with our overall strategic priorities.  🎣 The rest of the week was spent in a very special place, Herrankukkaro, a small fishing village on the southern coast of Finland. It's a particularly special place to us because two years ago we gathered there when we were just 15 of us, getting started after having raised our seed round. It’s where we first brainstormed and developed our core values: 📝 Be crazy in thinking but rigorous in verifying 💪 Demonstrate Sisu (a Finnish way of saying ‘to show resilience’) 🔃 Be adaptable 💎 Show trustparency 🤸♀️ And remember to have fun along the journey! 🔥 Two years later, we continue to live these values. We’re now over 40 employees and a Series A later with many exciting announcements in store which we’ll be revealing this fall. 🤩 It is immensely thrilling to see first-hand the amount of progress being made, month after month, in the quantum space and it is a privilege to be at the forefront of this progress!
