AI expert and Coventures’ Entrepreneur in Residence—or, as HS Visio calls him, an "AI hacker"—Mikko Alasaarela believes that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) could make a major breakthrough as early as 2027. This shift could redefine society and replace many knowledge-based jobs. Mikko has already integrated AI into complex problem-solving and openly admits: "These systems now outperform me."He draws a striking analogy: Will AI treat humans the way we treat animals? As cherished pets—or insignificant pests? While AGI’s advancement seems inevitable, its ultimate impact remains uncertain. At Nokia Bell Labs, Mikko leveraged his expertise in AI and blockchain to uncover a critical gap in customer-specific AI solutions. This insight led to the transformation of Ambion, an AI-driven SaaS solution built with a focus on data privacy and business impact. But innovation doesn’t come without hurdles. Corporate security policies, rigid processes, and bureaucracy could have slowed everything down.
