It was a pleasure to see a full room of foresight practitioners at Futures Platform's Foresight and Innovation Morning in Dubai today! Rarely is there such an enthusiastic and engaged audience. Thank you everyone participating, and looking forward to organising a similar session later this year – perhaps in Abu Dhabi. Warm thanks to all contributors, including our renowned keynote speakers and panelists Prof. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Dr. Sara Al Dallal, Sumaya Bin Sultan, Dr. Tuomo Kuosa and Marianna Mäki-Teeri, as well as Katia Al-Kaisi and Julia Markkanen from our local partner Education House Finland. I particularly enjoyed Dr. Tuomo's macrohistorical analysis suggesting a completely new era in the world order beginning perhaps already in the 2030s, associated with a face of deep peace, as well as an end to the era of modernism and industrial revolution and the emergence of the new era backed by artificial intelligence and quantum computing. I also enjoyed Sumaya Bin Sultan's presentation of Dubai Police HQ's highly professional foresight process, as well as the concluding (and prolonged) panel+audience discussion about how foresight contributes to strategy, how foresight culture and futures literacy can be rooted in an organisation, and what would be meaningful ways to measure the impacts and success of strategic foresight.
