With a background in tech and gaming, blockchain has always intrigued me, both personally and professionally. However, I had few opportunities to explore blockchain until I met one of the VPs of Immutable at GDC 2023 in San Francisco. At the time, I was working as an International Sales Manager for a Chinese game development company. Immutable needed assistance for their game Guild of Guardians, which became my first professional exposure to Web3 gaming. Soon after, a headhunter connected me to Eiger for a role in Web3 gaming sales. That’s how I joined Eiger. 💡 What made you interested in Web3? My interest began in 2014 when I first encountered Bitcoin. Over time, I started investing and even tried mining. The shift came when I read The Bitcoin Standard in 2018 and discovered Ethereum. Although I’m not a programmer, I saw the potential of decentralized platforms to empower the bankless and support smart contracts. 🎮 What made you interested in joining Eiger? The chance to blend my gaming experience with blockchain in Web3 gaming was incredibly appealing. Opportunities like that are rare. Eiger’s transparency and open culture were also a big draw for me. 🤍 What do you think makes Eiger a special place to work? Eiger’s remote-first mindset and youthful energy are invigorating. Despite being an old-timer here, I love the transparency, the freedom to propose new ideas, and the autonomy to organize my work with minimal guidelines. It’s really motivating. 📖 What’s a book, podcast, or article that significantly influenced your life? Besides The Bitcoin Standard, two books have greatly impacted me: On the Shortness of Life by Seneca and Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. These works have shaped my perspective, and I revisit them often for fresh insights. 🎙️ How do you stay current with developments in Web3? I follow CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, listen to Bankless podcasts, and watch Into the Cryptoverse on YouTube. 🏢 What advice would you give to someone starting a career in Web3 Sales? Stay updated on trends and be patient. Many traditional industries transitioning to blockchain need support, so being well-informed and adaptable is key to success in Web3.

Let's dive into his journey and experiences with us. 🎢 Can you tell us a bit about your journey as a Finance Manager at Eiger? I've been with Eiger for 6 months now, and it’s been fantastic! The culture here is all about balancing freedom and responsibility, which helps me to maintain a great work-life balance while making a meaningful impact. 🏢 What did you do before joining Eiger? My career started 14 years ago as a Financial Management Assistant. Since then, I've worked in various roles, including accounting in an IT company, finance management in a truck body workshop, and later in an accounting firm. Most recently, I was a Finance Manager at a sustainable packaging company before joining Eiger. 🕸️ What made you interested in Blockchain technology? I’ve been fascinated by blockchain technology for about a decade and have some hobbies with cryptos. Although I'm not a tech expert, joining Eiger has given me the opportunity to learn more about blockchain and its potential. 👨💻 What attracted you to Eiger? Eiger’s rapid growth and focus on software development really appealed to me. I’ve always been interested in IT and saw this as a perfect opportunity to combine my finance background with my passion for technology. 📈 What’s been the most memorable moment at Eiger so far? The Malaga Retreat stands out as a top highlight. It was a fantastic chance to meet almost everyone in the team, and the event was incredibly well-organized, making it a truly memorable experience. 🌎 What makes Eiger special? Working remotely with colleagues from 25 different countries creates a unique and inclusive environment. Despite being spread out, it feels like we’re all working together under one roof.
