The #EuroBioImaging Hub team was delighted to meet in person with our Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) at EMBL Imaging Centre, EMBL Heidelberg on October 8-9. We want to thank our SAB members who came from around the world (Australia 🇦🇺 , Japan 🇯🇵 , Europe 🇪🇺 , Canada 🇨🇦 and the United States 🇺🇸 ), as well as the members who joined online, for taking the time to attend this important meeting. We are truly grateful for your time and engagement in developing Euro-BioImaging! 

Imaging at the intersection of biological & material sciences🦠🦷🔬? This interview with Chaturanga (Chatu) Bandara, UKRI Fellow, University of Bristol Dental School, by #EuroBioImaging Scientific Ambassador Alice Abbondanza highlights the outstanding interdisciplinary science supported by #EuroBioImaging's Advanced Light & Electron Microscopy Prague Node (Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences). Learn how this feasibility study combining multiple imaging approaches, including cryo-FIB, pushes the boundaries to support the development of bacteria infection-free dental implants. 🔽

Euro-BioImaging is proud to be a part of the groundbreaking IHI ILLUMINATE project, a 54-month public-private collaboration funded by the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) and the European Union. The initiative combines cutting-edge imaging technology with pre-clinical & clinical research to pioneer new cancer treatments. ILLUMINATE will bring the first clinical application of MeMRI (Metabolic Magnetic Resonance Imaging), targeting advanced prostate cancer, with the potential to expand to other cancer types and earlier detection. The programme will also help fortify the availability of Lutetium-177 (Lu-177) by improving its manufacturing process and developing sustainable production methods. As a part of the ILLUMINATE consortium, #EuroBioImaging will contribute to patient and public engagement, education for healthcare professionals, and lead scientific dissemination. "Research is connected to life,” explains Sara Belloli, Researcher at IBSBC-CNR, part of #EuroBioImaging's MMMI Italian Node in Milano. This is one of the key messages she and her colleagues, like Silvia Valtorta, shared on Milano's beautiful Piazza Duomo last month, during the European Researcher's Night. Like many researchers across Europe, on September 27, Sara and her colleagues took time to talk to their local communities about their work. An experience that was mirrored in Torino, Italy, with Euro-BioImaging Med-Hub colleagues Erika Cerutti and Feriel Ramdhane, and in Coimbra, Portugal, with colleagues from our Portuguese BIN Node. These amazing, creative initiatives from our Nodes and Med-Hub are an important way to connect with local communities and raise awareness about basic research.
