Business Finland organized a Trade Mission to the United States and Canada for Finnish companies in the battery sector. The visit was aimed for Finnish companies and research organizations that have new innovations and export solutions in the battery and smart manufacturing areas. And FinnCobalt Oy was invited to join this important trade mission. The Trade Mission to the U.S. and Canada connects Finnish companies with key players in North America's booming battery industry. The mission included a visit to the The Battery Show Detroit (October 7-9) and visits to Ontario's automotive manufacturers (October 10-11). And as a personal conclusion, I think it´s very evident that to support the green transition goals, we need all technology that is available to be able to decarbonize the economy. Driven by the Inflation Reduction Act in the US and 30% tax credit that Canada offers, North American battery manufacturing and mining industry is expanding rapidly, with Ontario seeing major investments in EV battery plants. This mission supports Finnish innovation and export opportunities by gaining insight into how things are done in the US and Canada, try to copy concepts in the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe, and to create synergies. It was encouraging to see how aware the governments are with the fact that green transition is not possible without raw materials, that they work very closely with the mining companies and that they place great importance on responsible mining. As the demand for ethical and responsibly sourced battery minerals grows, our commitment remains clear: supplying the European battery industry with minerals that are mined and produced to the highest sustainability standards. By focusing on responsible production and transparent sourcing, we aim to build a strong, resilient, and sustainable battery supply chain for Europe. Proud to have been actively involved in a Business Finland mission aimed at supporting Finnish innovations in battery and sustainable manufacturing! Special thanks to Honourary Consul of Finland Peter Auvinen in Toronto to get us easy access to networking and personally it was great interest to hear about Invest in Canada | Investir au Canada and to connect with their Market Director Dejan Velichkov. We already knew MMH. Mining and Minerals Hall in Seville would be important but we didn´t quite expect such a success. A very busy two days of meetings and a wide range of esteemed guests visiting the Swedish booth, including the Swedish ambassador to Spain, Per-Arne Hjelmborn; Senator Teresa Mallada de Castro, Jan Moström, CEO of LKAB and president of Euromines, and the Regional Minister for Industry, Energy, and Mining of the local Government Junta de Andalucía, Jorge Paradela. Since we are in Spain, there is of course quite a lot of focus on the Spanish projects in Galicia. The productive meetings we've had with key stakeholders are paving the way for impactful collaborations. Looking forward to the last day of what must without a doubt be the most important mining event in Europe as we continue working towards a sustainable and responsible European battery supply chain. Vierailun aikana keskustelimme Hautalammen akkumineraalihankkeesta ja esittelimme yrityksemme Outokummun omalle kansanedustajalle Hanna Räsäselle. Ajatuksia vaihdettiin ESG:stä kaivostoiminnassa (ympäristö-, yhteiskunta- ja hallintotapavastuut) sekä hankkeen teknis- ja taloudellisesta toteutettavuudesta, mukaan lukien toiminnalle suunnitellut lieventävät toimenpiteet. Muita keskustelunaiheita olivat lupaviranomaiselle jätetty ympäristölupahakemus Aluehallintovirasto - Regionförvaltningsverket tämän vuoden huhtikuun lopussa sekä strategisen hankkeen statuksen hakemus Euroopan komissiolle. Tietenkin keskustelimme myös mineraaleista, erityisesti kriittisistä raaka-aineista osana parempaa tulevaisuutta. We had the pleasure of welcoming a special guest at our FinnCobalt Oy office in Outokumpu, Finland. During the visit, we had the opportunity to present the Hautalampi battery mineral project and our company to Outokumpu’s own Member of Parliament, Hanna Räsänen. Ideas were exchanged regarding ESG in mining (Environmental, Social, and Governance) as well as the technical and economic feasibility of the project, including mitigation measures. Other topics we discussed included the Environmental Permit Application submitted to the regional administration Aluehallintovirasto - Regionförvaltningsverket at the end of April this year and the application to the European Commission for Hautalampi to become a Strategic Project under the CRMA. Eurobattery Minerals AB continues to take significant strides toward securing Europe's supply of responsibly mined battery minerals for the green transition. Our rights issue of SEK 35.5M, with an over-allotment possibility of up to SEK 10M, marks a important moment in our journey to accelerate the development of our nickel, cobalt, and copper mining project in Finland. These critical minerals are essential for Europe's ambitious transition to clean energy and electric mobility. ⚡🚗   With this new capital, we are poised to: ✅ Prepare a bankable feasibility for the Hautalampi battery mineral project in 2025. ✅ Repayment of all outstanding interest-bearing debt. ✅ Secure working capital at least until the exercise period of the Warrants in May 2025. ✅ Generate financial flexibility for further operations and potential future M&A transactions.   This capital raise is not only an investment in Eurobattery’s growth, but also in Europe's future—supporting self-sufficiency in battery minerals, creating a sustainable supply chain, and contributing to the green transition. The critical minerals mentioned above are also important for Europe´s strategic autonomy, for the region´s defence industry and ultimately, for the security of all Europeans.   While raising capital can come with challenges, it is a necessary step to ensure we fulfill our commitment to building a resilient, ethical, and competitive European battery supply chain.
