About us
Flow Computing enables the next generation of CPU performance for the most demanding applications, such as locally-hosted AI and general-purpose parallel computing. We in Flow believe there has been only incremental improvements in CPU performance during recent decades. In our opinion, it has led to a situation where the CPU has actually become the weakest link in computing due to its suboptimal sequential architecture. A new era in CPU performance has become a necessity in order to meet the continuously-increasing demand for more computing performance (driven to large extent by needs in AI, edge and cloud computing). Flow intends to enable this revolution through its Parallel Performance Unit (PPU), giving up to 100X the performance of any CPU, regardless of architecture. Our technology has full backwards software compatibility and it gives 2x performance improvement to most legacy applications after recompilation. Capable of being integrated into any current or pending design architecture or process geometry, our licensable Parallel Processing Unit (PPU) turbocharges the current CPUs to enabling “CPU 2.0”-levels of throughput and eliminating the need for expensive GPU acceleration of CPU instructions.

Here at Flow Computing, we are still very excited by our recent exit from stealth and the amazing response we received from worldwide media. The hundreds of articles concerning the promise of PPU (Parallel Processing Unit) and the extremely powerful impact on CPU performance it offers was gratifying to read as a validation of our team's decade-long work in this area. As you may be aware, the work developing PPU was done while we were still part of VTT Technical Research Center of Finland (the Finnish equivalent of DARPA in the United States or Fraunhofer in Germany). However... We have also seen continued healthy skepticism concerning our claims that PPU technology can increase any CPU architecture performance by up to 100X. Being Finnish, hyperbole is anathema to us - and plain-speaking is hard-wired into our DNA. We get it. The claim - at least on paper - seems full of hyperbole at best. We want to help put to bed some of the lingering skepticism about whether Flow is indeed capable of achieving our lofty expectations. As such, we have decided to bring in an independent outside Academic expert with no ties to Flow to validate our methodology, development and overall hardware/software architecture innovations. It is with great excitement that I announce we have the privilege of having our research, patents and technology independently reviewed by parallel computing researcher Dr. Joerg Keller of FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany! To share his in-depth findings with the community, we will be sharing a 6-part series of video podcasts with Dr. Keller over the coming weeks.
