At this year's USCAP meeting in Baltimore in mid-March, we had the pleasure to see our Ocus scanners get some spotlight through two posters from WashU Pathology & Immunology: "Evaluation of whole slide imaging for frozen intraoperative consultations at a large academic institution" highlights digital slide imaging's potential to significantly improve diagnostic consultations across widespread healthcare infrastructures. "Virtual pathology: A remote cytology experience" demonstrates how centralized subspecialized practices can overcome staffing and budget constraints by delivering expert consultations remotely using Ocus digital slide scanners. Exciting news from Kenya showcasing the impressive capabilities of the Grundium Ocus 20 in a critical healthcare initiative! Deployed with AI image analysis, the Ocus 20 has proven exceptional in screening for intestinal worm infections among children, delivering exceptional image quality even with challenging samples. The study was conducted by a Nordic-East African team from the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Uppsala University, and Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) at the University of Helsinki, and Kinondo Kwetu Hospital. For this specific initiative, the Grundium Ocus 20 was ideal due to its compact size and robust design, connectivity via mobile networks, and versatile export capabilities. The Ocus 20 excels across a broad spectrum of diagnostic needs globally, making it suitable for advanced laboratories as well as isolated rural settings.
