How can we make people understand the importance of culture in our countries? And how can we maintain a strong cultural sector in times of crisis? These were some of the issues discussed at the "Culture as a source of power" seminar at Hanaholmen yesterday. The seminar ended the "Hanaholmen Kultur" networking program, which was arranged for the second year in a row for Finnish and Swedish cultural managers. "It doesn´t make sense to measure the value of culture, but you can measure the value of the effects of culture", said Mikael Brännvall, CEO of Svensk Scenkonst as he presented telling tables on employment rates and visitor numbers in Sweden.
