Climate change fact sheet UPDATED! ☁️ A few years back we published 'Climate Change in the Baltic Sea', which provided the latest scientific knowledge on how climate change is affecting the Baltic Sea to help policy makers to include climate change considerations in their work and decisions. The document has now been updated with new climate change parameters (marine litter, harmful algal blooms, biofouling, and acidification) as well as updates to existing parameters (marine and coastal ecosystem services, carbon uptake and potential). #SubmergedMunitions are a threat to the #BalticSea environment and to people living in or visiting the region. A threat that becomes more pressing with the passage of time. HELCOM - Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission is working to address this issue, partnering with various organizations and projects, such as the Council of the Baltic Sea States (#CBSS) and the #Interreg-funded #MUNIMAP project, aimed at developing a munitions remediation roadmap. It was good to catch up with Andriy Martynenko from CBSS at last week’s #EUSBSR Annual Forum in #Visby, #Sweden. #UXO
