A few weeks ago we celebrated Hentec’s journey of twenty years with a wonderful evening 🎉 We wanted to bring together not only our own team, but also those who have been along for the ride through the years, not to forget newer acquaintances. The theme, "20 years of networking", set the tone for a memorable evening of great company, delicious food and thought provoking presentations. What a night we had – you could say we painted the town red! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our twenty years. Here's to many more to come! 🥂

“How do you get people to do things? If you know the answer, I am all ears! But my belief is that it has something to do with energy and motivation. So where do we get our energy from? This is a difficult question, so we have used experts to help us. The discovery is that our diversity is a strength when we know how to make the most of it. Because, on the flip side, diversity might become a weakness if not harnessed with consideration. And that is when encounters become draining instead of inspiring. Have a look in the mirror: get to know your own personality and interaction style before even thinking about how other people act. Try to view other people not as competition, but as complementary. This is where you’ll notice the more you give, the more you get. At the core, business is meaningful when it focuses on doing good things, and doing them with love.” 💡💭 This year marks 20 years since the beginning of Hentec. In this series we wanted to highlight the learnings from our journey with a look into Hentec’s CEO Ulf Haga’s thoughts from twenty years. The thoughts above constitute the last post of the series – thank you for following along!

"We are all dependent on our customers – if our customers don't succeed, neither do we. It is therefore essential to have a deep understanding of facts that bring our customers success, and that is a really tricky thing. Tricky, because it is often about surfacing weaknesses that need to be improved. When the goal is new success, the process might call for change and redefinement. So when weaknesses are to be resolved, the first steps are to get quite close, build up your relations and confidence, then learn to know your customer in depth, and only after that start to build something new. The thing is: if we are able to build a sense of security in business relationships, we also get fruitful ground for innovation. Innovation calls for creative confidence. It’s about getting started without having the perfect answer. It’s about daring to voice stupid ideas! With the creative confidence of proposing something unconventional and unveiling the WIP, we easily end up with a positive spiral of multiplying ideas, resulting in an innovation. In the end, the innovative team is rarely able to pinpoint which idea is whose. The innovation is a product of its team. Shared success is therefore not only a customer-centric approach, but a mindset that is found at the very root of innovation." 💡💭 This year marks 20 years since the beginning of Hentec. "In business, networking is everything. The best connections don't have an expiry date: it has happened several times that I have got in touch with someone who I last spoke to 10 or even 20 years ago, and we have been able to pick up where we left off last time. The decisive thing here is to know who to get in contact with. For our Marquitruck project, I called a few people from my hometown, they told me to call someone in Sweden, from there I was redirected to the UK and I finally spoke to people in Närpes, not so far away from my hometown outside Vasa, and found the answers. Experienced people – those with some age – know how to fix things. They come with valuable cargo in the form of contacts, knowledge, and memories. Someone you know might very well know someone, who knows someone else, who might know the exact answer to your question. Yes, maturity and experience are emphasised here. However, ‘the oldies’ need to be combined with younger people's new ideas and fresh know-how of technology." 💡💭 This year marks 20 years since the beginning of Hentec. Thoughts from twenty years of entrepreneurship 💡💭 This year marks 20 years since the beginning of Hentec. We want to highlight the learnings from our journey and invite you to follow along on a small series as we are approaching our highly anticipated celebrations this week. Let’s have a look into Ulf Haga's thoughts from twenty years! ❤️ "In classical rhetoric you usually save the best bit for the finale, but we will cut straight to the chase: Love is a winning game, the more you give the more you get. This mindset is a recipe for long lasting relationships also professionally. We have seen that the more added value we are able to provide our stakeholders with, the more value we get back." However, establishing a mindset of love at work might be easier said than done. Over the next few posts we will dive deeper into the passion and the learnings behind this overarching sentiment!
