I just learned of the passing of Brandon Cole. One of the most influential blind accessibility designers of our time and a kind soul. I was among the lucky that briefly got to work with him. In 2021 I hired Brandon for a proof of concept project at Mainframe Industries, together with four students (now graduated UX Designers), Amanda Alling Andrén, Beatrice Ferrera, Christian Wahl and Marko Ilic. The goal was to develop a feature set that would enable blind gamers to traverse open world games. The project was a success. ✨ New milestone ✨ Earlier this week, we extended invitations to over 100,000 players to participate in the second large-scale Alpha test of #PaxDei. We have already received precious feedback and tremendous support from our community, and we are impressed by the creations made thus far. This test marks a significant stride in bringing our vision for the game to fruition, drawing us nearer to delivering a game that players will love, crafted in part due to their invaluable feedback.
