Our Head of Psychology, perinatal psyhologist & psychitherapist Riikka Lemmetyinen was honoured to present the poster of the preliminary results of our clinical study conducted in collaboration with HUS Helsingin yliopistollinen sairaala / Helsinki University Hospital in two psychology conferences this autumn 🌟 . The poster was written together with prof. Erkki Heinonen from Universitetet i Oslo and Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), our Research lead Henni Tenhunen and our Medical lead Aura Pyykönen. 🍁 The Psychology 2024 conference (https://lnkd.in/dEBW7Yf3) was held at the University of Helsinki August 14th-16th, bringing together psychology researchers from universities across Finland. 🍁 Psychotherapy in a Fast-Changing World (https://lnkd.in/dkAfbCFk) organised by SOCIETY FOR PSYCHOTHERAPY RESEARCH was held a month later, September 12th-14th, in Brno, Czech Republic, where Riikka also joined a poster pitching event. And the results presented?? The study is still ongoing so so we can't reveal a lot, but yes, we have some very promising results, and one that we can already share is that the fear of childbirth had decreased on the treatment group compared to the control group when getting closer to the expected delivery date 🙌. Stay tuned for more results once we have analysed all the data from birth outcomes 💫 #perinatalmentalhealth #mentalhealth #maternitycare #pregnancy #socialimpact

It was discussed that healthcare and reimbursement models need to shift from focusing on treating illnesses to prioritizing preventative care. Thank you also for everyone participating on the inspiring mental health workshop yesterday hosted by our product & design lead Annika Järvelin together with Biodesign Finland and Salla Keränen.

We are actively seeking funding to transition from a research project into a spinoff startup. We received an initial grant of €700,000 from Business Finland and Aalto University, and that allowed us to improve a previously validated emotion-tracking algorithm to develop the proof-of-concept of the Natal Mind AI-powered app. This funding also allowed us to launch clinical trials for pregnant women in cooperation with HUS Helsinki University Hospital, and conduct market assessments, and define market needs and business models across various regions. Our clinical trials have indicated a decrease in the fear of childbirth among the research group, while the control group reported an increase. We have also seen decrease in C-section rate among the research group, and improved childbirth experience. Feedback from healthcare professionals and parents worldwide further confirms the widespread need for our solution. Would you like to learn more? Contact about investment opportunities: Aura Pyykönen and Annika Järvelin.

Our medical lead, OBGYN Aura Pyykönen was talking on women's health on the national morning broadcast Huomenta Suomi on MTV Oy with Nico Vehmas. The topic was: Why are women's health concerns not taken seriously? Women are more likely than men to receive incorrect diagnoses and less effective treatment for their illnesses from healthcare. This is due to what is known as gender bias in medicine. "We have a persistent belief that because women live longer than men, women are healthier. This is a flawed conclusion. According to an international report, women spend up to 25 percent of their lives in poorer health compared to men," says Aura Pyykönen. See the clip here: https://lnkd.in/dVhdbK2n
