Brace yourselves, it's #FunFactFriday, and we're about to debunk some #cloudsecurity myths that are clouding (excuse the pun) your judgment 👩⚖️. Yep, some people still think those rusty, traditional #datacentres are more secure than #publiccloud. Well, get ready to have those outdated, clouded (sorry) perceptions de-fogged as we challenge those myths that are so yesterday, they belong in the ancient IT archive alongside floppy disks, dial-up internet and rollerball mice. Here’s ✋ myths about cloud security. 1️⃣ “Cloud is Less Secure Than On-Prem” Actually, the cloud providers invest heavily in #security, investing in big teams of experts to monitor and protect their infrastructure. They adhere to stringent security standards and compliance certifications, and can look after the updates for you. 2️⃣ “Data in cloud is more vulnerable to breaches” Nope. #Cloud providers implement advanced encryption methods to protect data, and offer robust access and authentication controls, reducing the risk of breaches. 3️⃣ “Cloud services lack transparency and control” Quite the opposite. Cloud providers typically offer comprehensive visibility and control tools, so you can monitor resources, set access permissions, and audit activities in one place, so you can easily maintain governance and compliance requirements. 4️⃣ “Cloud outages are common and unpredictable” Come on. Sure, cloud outages have occurred, but they’re pretty rare. The major providers invest heavily in redundancy and failover mechanisms to minimise downtime. 5️⃣ “Migrating to the cloud is a risk” Maybe, if you don’t know what you’re doing. #Cloudmigration should improve security posture by leveraging the expertise and resources of #cloudproviders. With proper configuration and best practices mapped with a clear migration strategy, you should achieve a higher level of security in cloud. #nordcloudbytes
