Pilot Plant Engineer
Are you interested in taking the lead on designing, building and operating the Perfat® pilot plant to be built in the Helsinki metropolitan area in 2025? The pilot plant will serve our R&D needs and function as a testing platform for our production processes. In addition, we expect to be able to deliver industrial scale product samples and prototypes to our customers and partners. You will have the opportunity to participate in developing leading edge products that will enable people to live healthier lives by improving the nutritional profile of the foods we love to consume.
You will need a very strong safety mindset and be comfortable operating in an ATEX environment. We expect the selected person to have relevant technical/engineering education, knowledge of food production technology and processes (ideally within oils & fats), including experience from daily operations, maintenance, cleaning and quality. Finally, you will also have a "can-do" team work oriented attitude.
We have already kicked off the design work for our pilot plant and you would be expected to take charge of the project and execute the plans. Once the pilot plant has been constructed, you would be responsible for designing optimal production processes, scaling processes to factory scale, as well as optimizing costs and the quality of the final products. We value the ability to design new processes, determination, and the ability to solve problems with quality and safety as primary considerations. The work involves precise reporting as required by food safety standards and includes managing the maintenance of process equipment.
Production at the pilot plant will be carried out in close cooperation with Perfat's R&D and application teams and requires on-site presence. Our working language is English. Performing the job requires a hygiene passport and a valid work safety card and we expect you to have a valid permission to work within the EU.
This position offers exciting challenges and the opportunity to develop professionally in a dynamic start-up environment. In addition to a competitive salary, you may also be offered an opportunity to participate in our equity based incentive program.
Please send your application including a cover letter, CV and your salary request to info@perfat.com by September 23, 2024.
