🚀 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 – 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 Liikenne- ja viestintävirasto Traficom / Transport- och kommunikationsverket Traficom and Huoltovarmuuskeskus, together with VTT, have published an interesting report: "Utilization of Satellite Broadband Technologies and Services in Preparedness - Satelliittilaajakaista auttaa tietoliikenneverkkojen häiriöihin varautumisessa" https://lnkd.in/dtmjMyH6 Based on the findings, it's clear that Project DIAMANT is developing antenna and satellite technology that is becoming increasingly essential. The report highlights key threats and opportunities in satellite broadband: 🔴 Threat 1: Limited number of service providers and market dominance by a single player ✅ 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞. Instead of a single provider launching a dedicated satellite network for its own service, DIAMANT’s satellite bus allows multiple service providers to share satellite infrastructure. 🛰️ With our 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬, new providers can enter the market more easily, fostering competition and ensuring that satellite broadband does not remain controlled by a handful of multibillionaires. 🔴 Threats 2 & 3: Susceptibility to GNSS distruption and vulnerability to cyber threats ✅ 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲, 𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Adversaries can jam satellite broadband signals, disrupting communications. 🛡️ DIAMANT technology 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐎𝐌 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, allowing services under attack 𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 or utilize FHSS (Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum) techniques to maintain connectivity. The demand for 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 is growing – and Project DIAMANT is here to meet the challenge. #ProjectDIAMANT #Resilience #SATCOM #SpaceStartup #AaltoSatellites
