The EARTO - European Association of Research and Technology Organisations prize has arrived at VTT today! Congratulations again to Team HYPERMINE for winning 2nd prize in the EARTO Innovation Awards 2024, Impact Expected category! HYPERMINE is one of the innovative teams of VTT’s science-based incubator VTT LaunchPad. Its cutting-edge technology enables mining companies to select materials with 97% greater accuracy than current methods. Using a laser-based hyperspectral sensor, HYPERMINE scans the surface of mine materials to reveal their mineral contents, all during the excavation stage. Suomi on valittu ainoana EU-maana Yhdysvaltain tiedesäätiön Global Centers -ohjelmaan, jossa VTT käynnistää nyt kaksi biotaloushanketta! 🔬👏 🌱 Hankkeissa yhteensä viiden maan huippututkimuksen organisaatiot kehittävät ilmastoneutraalia tulevaisuutta tukevia ratkaisuja. 🌱 "Roolimme on tuoda ohjelmaan suomalaista teollisen biotekniikan ja bioprosessien asiantuntemusta ja teknologiaa. Arvoonsa nousee myös VTT:n kyvykkyys skaalata teknologiaa laboratoriosta pilotointiympäristöön, minkä ansiosta pystymme kehittämään bioprosessien teollistamista", sanoo VTT:n Tua Huomo. 🌱 VTT:n projektit hyödyntävät biotekniikkaa kestävien ratkaisujen luomiseksi: Biofoundry-hankkeessa keskitytään fossiilipohjaisten materiaalien korvaamiseen biopohjaisilla vaihtoehdoilla, ja FoodID-projektin tavoitteena on kiihdyttää ruokajärjestelmän muutosta suuntaan, joka vähentää erityisesti lihan tuotannon aiheuttamaa ympäristökuormitusta solumaatalouden, fermentoinnin ja kasvipohjaisten innovaatioiden avulla.
