Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of attending the Winter Satellite Workshop🚀, where we took part in inspiring discussions with professionals, innovators, and visionaries. One of the most rewarding experiences was meeting students 🎓, who were genuinely curious about our work. Their enthusiasm was truly heartwarming! ❤️ At the conference, we also had the opportunity to explore the satellites built by Aalto University🛰️. Aalto-1, Finland’s first satellite, made history by orbiting Earth 🌍 for seven years before re-entering the atmosphere last year. It was also the first Finnish space object to be included in the international Register of Objects Launched into Outer Space. Designed and built by students and researchers, Aalto-1 marked the beginning of a new space era in Finland, as noted by Professor Jaan Praks, who led the project. "There is a lot happening in the space sector right now, and the diversity of the conference programme reflected this development. The industry is growing, and the demand for experts is rising. Finland is currently updating its space strategy, which is a significant step for the expanding space business. This will enable new innovations for more sustainable space activities," says Professor Jaan Praks, chairman of the event. A small act can make a big difference - DA-Group involved in doing good 🚴This Christmas, we are proud to support Team Rynkeby, a charity cycling team dedicated to raising funds for the treatment of seriously ill children and cancer research. 🙏In Finland, children's cancer research relies entirely on donations, as it is not funded by society. This makes contributions especially vital. As Team Rynkeby puts it: "Although Finnish cancer research and treatment is world-class, one in seven children with cancer still dies." 🎄Last season, Team Rynkeby Finland raised an impressive €755,329, which was donated to children's cancer research and to supporting affected families. Pekka Airola started as the CEO of DA-Group in August. We talked with him about some of the highlights of his first few months on the job. Pekka says that he feels well-received and welcomed. -The people at DA are open to new ideas. DA-Group is updating its strategy and shaping its organization to respond to the future demands of a changing operating environment. Pekka Airola has been appointed as DA-Group’s new CEO. He will start in his new position on 20 August 2024. Pekka Airola has previously worked in the fields of industrial electronics, mobile phone supply chains and health technology. He has held various management positions related to product portfolios and projects, as well as production. In his most recent role, Airola served as Vice President of the Welding Machines Business Unit at Kemppi Oy, where he was responsible for ensuring the competitiveness of welding machines in a highly competitive market.   “DA-Group’s success is built on a strong foundation of expertise, from engineering to production, and the customer is instilled with a sense of security and trust through timely and accurate information on deliveries. In the current global situation, growth is supported by the increased attention paid to geopolitical risks in the supply chain now more than just ten years ago. Value is increasingly placed on companies that keep the entire supply chain in its own hands,” states Airola.   For Airola, among the most important aspects of management work are creating genuine added value for the customer and looking after the company’s skilled employees.👌 DA-Group’s long-standing CEO Sami Kotiniemi will support Airola in his new role and will assume a strategic role as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, actively driving innovations and fine-tuning the company’s future direction.
