Memento Mori I once went to a live performance by Formen that took place in an old factory building. The timbres of the drones and the metallic percussions merged with the long, natural reverb of the factory hall into a huge, immersive soundscape. The recordings here can't reproduce this feeling, but at least leave an impression of how intense these performances are... Favorite track: Ampère.

"Noise Around Our Homes" is a compilation of various live performances of Formen in spring 2022.

The EP consists of six tracks that deal with different methods of experimental sound design. Basically Formen explores the interplay of electroacoustic noise and organic compositions. He combines wide electrically charged soundscapes with frequency-dependent changes in timbre. As a result, the tracks can be perceived both as static sound sculptures and as compositions that are constantly evolving.

For the performances, Formen worked exclusively with analog sound sources and modified effects units. The individual sound modules are interconnected to one another in terms of both sound and function, with the mixing console operated by Formen representing the control center of this interaction. As always, Formen performed, mixed and recorded all tracks live without additional overdubbing.

This album is so lovely, it really has the best aspects of ambient music - calming, subtle, and works well either as background or as something to intently listen to. The texture in the tracks, especially I is gorgeous, it reminds me of the texture on some of Mum's, "finally we are no one". I love the way the little textured noises fade in and out of what we hear while the ethereal waves in the background shimmer. I love listening to ambient albums on bandcamp and this is one of my favorites! bryophytic_patina
