iPhone 15 Pro back glass is hugely cheaper to repair than iPhone 14 Pro

A design change in the iPhone 15 Pro lineup reduces the cost of back glass repair by over $300 compared to previous models.

At the September Apple Event, Apple informed customers that repairing the iPhone 15 Pro is now easier. According to the company, this is thanks to a "new structural frame that allows the back glass to be easily replaced."

If a customer damaged the back glass of an iPhone 14 Pro, it would cost $499 to replace. An iPhone 14 Pro Max back glass replacement was even more expensive at $549.

According to Apple's support page, the same damage to the iPhone 15 Pro would only cost $169 to replace or $199 on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Of course, should you have AppleCare+, it only costs $29 to replace the glass on the back of your iPhone, regardless of which model you own.

The change not only saves customers money but likely helps Apple achieve its goals as well. Apple has a special interest in making the iPhone more reparable to keep up with right-to-repair legislation.

The company has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. By enabling easy repair and disassembly of its products, it can make repairs and recovery much easier.

    That's literally at least 300 dollars cheaper!

    The battery already lasts a full day if you put the damn thing down every once in a while and engage with, you know, live people, real nature, social events, and other forms of non-virtual life.

    If you are on your damn phone so much that it doesn’t last a full day, the problem isn’t the battery — it’s you and your lack of a “full” life.
