This is a repost of a forum thread I made in the GOG.com forums. I'm mirroring my posts to get as much help as possible. """So, a while ago, I bought Morrowind from GOG and immediately decided to get the Overhaul mod from Ornitocopter, but it seems incompatible with either Windows 8.1 or the GOG version of the game. For example, it requires you to install Visual c++ 2008, but I can't install any version of this at all. It is included in the Steam version, but no such luck here. Furthermore, the options crash every time I try to change the settings, and the game runs at an infrequent MAXIMUM of 20 frames per second on the LOWEST graphics options. My computer is more than double the required specifications for "very high performance PC" (as it apparently doesn't take much). I desperately want to play this incredible game, but simply cannot. PLEASE HELP. New Problem: The Overhaul installer won't start-- something about variables. I tried deleting all the files to restart the whole thing from scratch, but the "Unhandled Exceptions.exe" can't be deleted. I installed the overhaul again, hoping it would just overwrite it, but I'm still getting the message "Error: Array variable has incorrect number of subscripts or subscript dimensions range exceeded." Please, I'm not a tech savvy person. I just want to play my game.""" So, as you can see, I'm reaching here.

This may be a really dumb question but I've been trying for hours to get the MSGO mod to work on Morrowind GOTY which I just downloaded from Steam. I've disabled the Steam overlay and extracted the file where it should go but when I bring up the MSGO setup in administrator and click next, it shows that the Morrowind.exe file is missing. I canceled the setup and checked the Steam/Steamapp/Morrowind folder and there is no file that I can find anywhere labeled as Morrowind.exe. What have I done wrong? I'd really appreciate any help and suggestions! I've already reinstalled the game and the MSGO file several times and nothing has changed. I hope I didn't buy a Steam copy for nothing. I already own the Xbox version of the game and bought the Steam version just for this mod. :-( Thanks!

Hello, Recently I re-installed morrowind and thought it would be fun to install MGSO, Rebirth and Tamriel Rebuilt. Now I noticed that I could train my combat skills on training dummies! I was loving this... but the dummies don't respawn... I waited for multiple days (at least a week) and they still didn't respawn... Because this installation is so heavily modded, I don't know which mod is allowing me to attack the dummies... and I can't find anything on the internet.... Do any of you know which mod does this? How long it takes for them to respawn? I can't seem to recall this being a vanilla feature? Thanks!

So after chosing which mods I want applied in the Options phase of the MSGO installer, I get this error. I tried to continue, but the progress bar was not progressing so I quit the installer. Please help.

I'm having strange glitches with MSGO that I haven't seen written about in the searches I've done. I've gone through the installation process at least 2 dozen times and each time, I get different results. One time the sun looks like a pinpoint and has a star burst effect with static 'sheets' of sun rays, instead of the lovely sunbeams it normally has. Another time the rocks and trees are bright and glittery, like they are frosted with silver. Many times, white hair and clothes are blindingly bright and seem strange. Now being in sunken ships underwater results in very strange lighting/graphics. I'm having trouble with the sky. There is a strange halo-like 'accordion' effect where the sky is segmented into rings. Lighting seems very wrong. When day progresses into night, the effect isn't seen as a slowly, changing panorama of color and light, but strange jerky changes. Also, the moons will be apparent in daytime and will be a light color. It will suddenly become very laggy and sluggish for no apparent reason, even when the fps is very low. I have it set to Fast config (which my system should handle perfectly). I'm using the second best version of MGE. I've made sure my specs should handle these settings. My in-game view distance is set to maximum. I've removed all the added sound mods, the lighting mods, and have all the green (lite) options selected, except for a few exceptions, and then I've chosen yellow. I've tried it on monitor settings from low to high and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I can't see what is causing this. I'm not coming up with any results from my searches. I can say that unselecting MGE in Options and running without Distant Land doesn't make a difference. It's definitely coming from MSGO. I think the settings are off and the default aren't working for some reason. But I don't know what needs to be changed. Is anyone else having these issues? I'm so desperate to make this mod work. It just makes the game so much more alive and dynamic, I can't imagine going back to playing without it. Thank you so much for your help!
