  1. edit: realized an old mod in the folder from pre dlc was breaking it and it wasn't a bug
  2. Blind guy here, i love this game but i keep losing track of dogmeat even when he's right in front of me. Would it be possible to create a single collar mod that plays a bell sound when he walks? Thanks!
  3. I know this has been brought up on the Larian forums dozens if not hundreds of times in hopes of the official devs taking notice (with apparently zero engagement on their part), so I'm probably screaming into the void right now.... but we desperately need an option for making the UI bigger. I know there's mods to increase text size/change the fonts to something more readable, and that's all great, but I'm talking mostly about buttons and icons. This post will be divided into two halves, Part I (the screed), and Part II (the solution). Feel free to skip to part II if you don't wanna listen to my whiny diatribe. PART I - The Screed This is my first CRPG. I can tell that it's an amazing game and I want SO BADLY to enjoy it. But alas, I do not have the ability to play it on a 4K ultrawide monitor, while sitting with my face ten inches away from said monitor. And that is literally the ONLY way I can imagine the vanilla UI being adequate. I think the sheer number of UI improvement mods that already exist, is testament to that fact. Clearly, there's a lot of gamers with less-than-perfect vision, who've felt the need to ask for or create these mods. Yet for some reason, there doesn't seem to be a single mod that can uniformly increase the size/scale of the whole UI. Personally, I am splitting my playthrough between the Steam Deck (with a custom control scheme allowing me to take advantage of the mouse/keyboard UI, because the controller UI has its own litany of issues), and playing docked, on my 65" 1080p bedroom TV. When I'm in handheld mode, at the very least I can hold the Deck right up to my face in order to better read the microscopic icons (still not a pleasant experience) but on the TV, it's nigh-unplayable. The icons are the size of a literal thumbnail. If I can't find a way to change this, I'm afraid that I will be forced to give up on the game, and miss out on the 2023 GotY. Which would really, reeeeeeeally suck. PART II - The (proposed) Solution We need a mod that allows us to scale different elements of the UI (ideally, on an individual basis) both UP in size, as well as down. Currently, there's mods to make it SMALLER, but none to make it bigger, which is wild to me. Having more screen real estate doesn't mean dick if I have to strain my eyes in order to do any kinda of inventory management, or even to organize my hotbar. Ideally, I'd want the option to scale the hotbar up to 200% of its default size. I don't care if the icons end up looking low-res. I don't care how much of the screen the UI takes up, I just wanna be able to look at the icons and tell what they are AT A GLANCE. Same goes for the character sheet/inventory screen. I don't care about overlapping windows. I don't care about containers having a bigger grid size. I'm not averse to scrolling. I want icons that come closer to the size of those you find in games like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, etc. I don't care if that means I can only see 4x3 icons onscreen at a time without scrolling. I'll deal with that, if I can actually make out what the icons are. The aforementioned feature (UI scaling up to 200%) is the most important thing needed; however, there are some supplemental features that would make it even better. For example, being able to assign a hotkey that will, in the event of having multiple containers/UI elements open, allow you to flip through them, changing which window has focus and displayed as the top layer (basically the same way Alt+Tab works, but only affecting in-game UI elements). A hotkey like that could also be used to switch between the different sections (shutters) in the hotbar, since having the UI scaled that big would obviously make it difficult to show multiple sections simultaneously. This mod would hopefully be compatible with mods like Aether’s Immersive UI, so as to remove the scaled-up UI when it’s not needed. It also hopefully would operate independently from mods that change the font/size of various text in the game (mods like this), so that even with a scaled up UI, certain text could still be reduced (or made even larger) by utilizing a font-changing mod. Lastly, (and this might be the least likely to be feasible), it would be amazing if it were possible to use the keyboard keys to select different icons in the hotbar/inventory (similar to how it works in the controller UI), so that users would have the option of using the mouse cursor OR buttons to flip through their inventory (WITHOUT having the entire UI/control scheme switch to ‘controller mode’). I assume the only way to do that would be something that changes the x,y coordinates of the mouse cursor’s position in relation to the UI window, (i.e. calling the coordinates of [row 1, column 1], [row 1, column 2], etc). I’m no modder, but that sounds like a difficult thing to implement, even to my ignorant self, so I understand if that’s not really a possibility. But damn would it be sweet if it were. Maybe assigning a hotkey that you hold down, to shift WASD’s inputs from camera mode/movement mode to ‘UI mode’ IN CONCLUSION: Again, I’m not entirely sure what’s possible, so all the extra features are just my ideal wishlist. But the MAIN point, which is just straight-up UI window scaling up to a much larger size, is something that I feel should’ve been implemented in the official game, and I’m frankly amazed that no one’s made a mod to do it yet. If some enterprising BG3 modder were to make this request into a reality, I promise you, it would make a MASSIVE difference in the accessibility of countless semi-blind gamers, and allow them to enjoy the Baldur’s Gate 3 experience as much as everyone else. Please, pleeeeaaase, can somebody make this happen? I would literally pay you to develop such a mod.
  4. I'd like edit the little aiming markers that show up when throwing bombs or aiming your crossbow to be brightly colored for accessibility reasons, but I don't know where the files are. Uncooked all I can and looked through, but I seem to be missing something. I just need to find which file to edit and I can probably take it from there. Can anybody point the way?
  5. Hi there, I've been using Vortex ever since it came out, and although I don't personally have a major problem with jumping to the dashboard to run the various tools required after changes, additions, or removals, it would be wonderful if these tools could be placed on the sidebar on the left just under the "Mods" category; this will allow easier access to the tools the user may need without having to change tabs; as small as that task may be, changing two clicks down to one is still an improvement in my books. The reason I believe it should be user-defined is because the user may have elected not to have installed some of the tools, or may have them but simply don't make use of them, for example: personally, I don't have SSEEdit, or Wrye Bash, and although Skyrim Script Extender 64 is included as a tool, I wouldn't need it in the sidebar, I mostly use FNIS, Bodyside, and LOOT, so those are what I would select to be there, but if it's user-defined, then it doesn't matter what I use, the user themselves will be able to add the tools they believe they need. This setting can be added to the settings menu under interface, but may also work as an option in the overflow/dropdown menu (3 vertical dots) on the tools themselves, simply select the menu and select the new option (Add to sidebar); if no tools are currently in the sidebar, the category will be created to house the tool, and if there is already a tool there, the newest one added will be placed below the previous. Just to clarify, this is not the same as the automation options, this still grants the user the ability to manually trigger the tools, just in less clicks. Cheers!
  6. The birthsigns menu is a real problem for UI scaling. In game, it's the only element I have that goes offscreen, and since the bttons are anchored to the bottom that makes it unusuable if the UI is scaled just enough for that to happen. It's a bit of a rigmarole to have to go into MGE-XE, scale the UI, do the character creation, go into MGE-XE, and scale the UI again. I'm used to lua-modding, so I tried to have a crack at it myself. I can't figure it out for the life of me, though. None of my attempted changes have any effect. It could be that the size is hard-wired though, in which case I'm stuck with my lot. But if anyone can help? I'd appreciate it.
  7. My eyes were damaged by cataract surgeries gone awry. My eyes have hurt, have been extremely photophobic since March 2nd and 3rd. Yes, I'm struggling. I don't think my surgeon did anything incorrectly--I think I was just unlucky that day, and got two rare, bad outcomes. I love using bombs in the mines. My dexterity and speed in the game are well suited to bombs...it's amazing how hard the sling shot is for me to use because, well, I just can't see the target thingie. But all three bombs will go off with a much brighter flash. My room has to be darker at night, so this really hurts my eyes. Is it possible that a simple mod could change that flash to something a lot less bright? The whole screen goes white. It may also have triggered some absence seizures which I haven't had in years. I'm not eager to keep experiencing that. If someone who understands the modding process could write something to make this easier on my eyes, I will gladly do what I could do in return. Of course there are other things like missing dig spots, not being able to tell what is fertilized and what isn't...but the bomb thing is the worst. Second issue: I'm signed in, apparently. I get nagged to endorse everything I've ever downloaded, but it usually won't TAKE an endorsement from me. I'd really prefer to be handing out money but fate didn't leave me in a situation where I can do that. What does this site what me to do so that I can endorse? Some mods I use because they make it easier for me to play with my disabilities. I can't waste clicks! If you can make your replies easy for me to read, I'd appreciate it very much. I think my browser is making war against the magnifying functions.
  8. Hey everybody, I love Skyrim, all the random stuff people say and compelling quest dialogue, both base game and mods. But I'm a bit hard of hearing and even having voices at max and everything else at 1/4 volume I still have a hard time understand when multiple people are talking in game, or when someone is too far away to activate subtitles. So I was wondering if somebody could go in and make subtitles stack on top of each other instead of having to flip flop priority to each individual speaking near me. And add names to those subtitles for tracking who says what. Perhaps even color coding, red for enemies, blue for guards, etc. I don't know how hard it is to edit the subtitles since I have not seen anyone do it. I assume it's just because nobody has thought it was bad enough to need an upgrade yet. But I know I would greatly appreciate a better accessibility then the current subtitles allow. On a similar vein, could there also be audio drop off slider. Instead of having far off voices Fade to silence, have a slider that keeps audio from dipping below a volume. That way even far away people are still no quieter than 1/4 volume?
  9. I popped in a request a few months ago and have been a little disappointed no-one at Nexus' conglomerate HQ tower block  in Devon appears to have looked into it. The Mod pages each have a "Posts" section. When I comment using this, the box that opens for my comment has a white background and a grey font. I really, really struggle to see the grey font on this white background. I'm 59/60, long-sighted and require specs. :geek: Forum pages are far easier to see - like this entry, for instance, with a white font on a dark background. Please can I beg you to re-consider the default font colour and type face used in the Mod Page "Posts" section? And please, pm me if you will do this so that I know you have taken this on board? Thank you!
  10. I have a friend who has some trouble with moving that I'm trying to show Skyrim VR (with a controller). Everything is perfect, I'm even running it with plenty of mods, but there is just one slight issue he keeps running into; trying to pick things up off the ground or catch bugs (the ground is the bigger issue) is difficult because the game asks him to crane his neck down and point the Vive at the thing he's trying to pick up. The game turns off the up/down camera controls on the right stick when you're playing in VR as to not cause motion sickness, but I was wondering if there is any way to map them to simply offset the crosshair location up and down to select things without having to move your head AS far to look at them. I honestly thought it is an amazing idea because I run into the same issue when I try to play it lounging on a couch with the headset on, I keep having to pick myself up to look down on things, the only issue is I suck at coding and have never modded before so I figured a better idea would be to see if any of you guys like the idea. It would help more people get to experience running through this insane game. Thanks.
  11. I'd be hugely grateful to any modder/s if its possible to disable the lightning weather effects during the heisenberg fight.
  12. This is a plague on modern games. I canât read 12 pt font on a tv 10 feet away. Iâm begging you guys, someone please make a mod to increase the ui font size.
