Hello! I might did a poor search, but couldn't find that on forums. Basically, as you know, Vortex is asking administrator permissions for deployment (using symlinks) every time. It wouldn't be any kind of a problem, but when you're working on a huge mod pack and, e.g., trying to find a game bug cause by disabling mods one-by-one, permission prompt appearing every single time gets really annoying. Is it possible to somehow remember granted admin permission for Vortex? Without disabling UAC at all of course. I thought running Vortex as administrator could work, but when I tried running it as an admin, Vortex prompted me not to do so. Thanks in advance.

Please help! So the other day I finally managed to get fnv4gb to work with nvse, on my steam bought fallout new vegas. up till this point I simply used nvse to launch, but realised my game was using up memory to fast so i extended it with fnv4gb. it worked for a few days. now when I attempt to launch with fnv4gb. it begins a weird looping sequence that has me scratching my head as to a solution. To explain better, I use nexus mod manger v (0.61.23) with the latest nvse 5.03 and the latest fnv4gb. now I use nexus mod manger to launch fnv4gb, which in turn is supposed to launch nvse, both have administrator privileges and must be confirmed on start up, but now its a never ending cycle. I would click to launch, click to allow administrator whatever, then it would show steams opening fallout new vegas window. but suddenly the admin y/n box appears again. and this is a never ending loop. I cant figure out what is wrong. all my files are there, I've verified the local files, I've checked to make sure nothing is conflicting load order wise. but that should affect launch. I have no idea what to do. I'm trying to avoid re downloading the entire game as I'm Aussie who lives rurally, meaning my internet is slow and it would take me almost 3-4 weeks to download again. P.s Nvse + the normal fallout luncher also does the same thing, so its not just fnv4gb to clarify.

I've been having this issue since the first time I installed Skyrim in my job's computer. Every single time I click on a software this window appears: Doesn't matter if it is the Skyrim Launcher, TESV.exe, ModOrganizer.exe, skse_loader.exe, creation_kit.exe, no matter what program, they always show me this message. For some reason, I am able to bypass it if I check "run as administrator" in the properties of the exe. But why? Why has this been always happening? I just want to know. Is there a problem with the CPU they gave me? Because if it is... I can't just say to my boss: - Hey boss... I need a better computer. - Why? - To mod Skyrim... My system information:

So, I'm pretty fed up with the mod manager by now, I've tried everything to get the stupid thing to log in, i've tried setting it as administrator does not work at all. I've tried to unblock it from my firewall, it's not listed there so the only thing i can think is that the servers are down? But then how am i typing this right now soooo.. yeah. If someone has a solution to this let me know if not i guess i won't be doing anything today lol.

Hi Frosty Mod Manager can't create ModData folder in game folder despite running as administrator. It gives the error message "One ore more symbolic links could not be created, please restart tool as Administrator." (nice typo BTW). I tried multiple things and nothing is working. Creating folder on my own works somehow but the game is not launching, only Origin.

Hey I just installed vortex and upon trying to launch the application, I get a notification saying: admin rights detected and a warning about continuing. Thing is, I'm not running as administrator as far as I'm aware. I'm just double-clicking as I would with most applications. I also checked the properties to see if run as admin was set by default but that wasn't the case. Just wondering if this is a bug and if it's safe to continue since the notification insist that I could be in some deep s***. Thanks.

I hope this is the right place to post this, if not I apologize and request someone to move this thread to the right forum / sub-forum. I was trying to edit my signature and after trying to save it, I was greeted with a block message from Cloudflare. Before that, I had to frequently complete a few CAPTCAs as well. My PC is clean, it doesn't have any viruses, malware etc. Now, how do I contact the website administrator and solve this issue? I can provide the Ray ID via private message. Also, can someone please tell me in detail on how to attach an image to a signature, without uploading it to a third party site first? Thank you.

Hey guys! I hope I'm posting in the right area, but i have a problem. I just started using Frosty Mod Manager, and it doesn't seem to work. Every time I boot it up, it gives me the same error code and to run through administrator--which I always do. this is the error it gives me: One ore more symbolic links could not be created, please restart tool as Administrator. at Frosty.ModSupport.FrostyModExecutor.<>c__DisplayClass28_0.<Run>b__0() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Frosty.ModSupport.FrostyModExecutor.<Run>d__28.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at FrostyModManager.MainWindow.<launchButton_Click>d__13.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.ExceptionServices.ExceptionDispatchInfo.Throw() at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs, Delegate catchHandler) I'm not exactly a wiz kid when it comes to computers, hell, im not even sure I spelt the word 'wiz' right. I really want to play with the new frosty mods that everyone is sharing, especially the hair mods. Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this! Thank you!

So I'm trying to mod Fallout 3, but for whatever reason the game only works when I have it set to run as administrator, but Vortex can't run it when I do. I have both the Script Extender and Fallout3.exe set to run as administrator, this works when I'm launching it from the folder, though I have no mods then, but when launching from Vortex, I get the 'Failed to run tool' error message, and it says it requires elevation, but I don't know how I'm meant to do that, though, because Vortex doesn't work when I set it to run as administrator.
