  1. Hello people. I have a question because I'm deeply ignorant about NPC AI and the way that different mods change it, and I note that people here have a good notion of what they are talking about. My main question goes around mods like Immersive Citizens that claim to change the NPCs AI. How they do that? how can they be sure that's not going to mess other mods? For example, Immersive Citizens seems to do the same that "Guard dialogue overhaul" and "Run for your lives", yet the mod author states that they are not incompatible. On the contrary, the interiors and city modification mods seem to be the incompatible ones. How's that possible? Is a problem of Navmeshes? Does that means that mods that alter NPC behavior become redundant or they keep being useful despite being overwritten by other behavior mods? I'm from a social science background, so I don't understand several concepts about this.
  2. Hello all, I was hoping there might be a mod to allow for bash attacks in Vats, especially with several bash overhaul mods to choose from. I was sad to see that there wasn't. Does anyone know if this is possible? With my meager amount of knowledge, I'm thinking script would be needed to avoid bashing people a mile away, but it would be nice to not see my gun clipping through a Raiders face and out the back of his head before firing and seeing his head explode... instead I think it would be cool to be able to hit the Bash key on close enemies and still be able to shoot distant targets. I'd like to hear your thoughts, thank you all.
  3. I started a new play through in fallout 4 with new best mod list for hardcore and 12 hours into gameplay it was time to go to Boston (Performance and Issues Hell). When I arrived near Cambridge my game started to stutter and ending up with CTD. After a week of trying to figure out what is causing the crash and disabling and enabling mods I couldn't figure out what's the cause. I'm hoping that the fix is well known and someone can point for me which mod is causing the CTD.   4. Hi, Skyrim Special Edition is running fine so far with Vortex (1.4.15) and the mods I've installed. I'm at the point where I'm trying to create a Bashed patch through Wrye. However, I'm having some issues with creating the patch itself. I'm not sure if this is a problem caused by Vortex, Wrye, or my SSE saves folder location. Here what I have done to replicate the issue: Install: - I installed Wrye Bash using the v309.1 installer. - I chose SkyrimSE as my game and ensured the file path pointed to the correct location in my steam folder. - I have checked that the Mopy folder is placed in the same location as SkyrimSE.exe. - Mopy contains Wrye Bash.exe and other related folders and files. Running: - Running Wrye Bash.exe opens the application as normal. (I do get a "Mismatched BSA Versions" warning) - It correctly detects and displays the mods I have installed in the mods tab. - When I go to create a Bashed Patch, I get the following warning: "Update.esm: Bad Top GRUP type: 'VOLI'" - After googling the issue I found a couple of posts saying that 'VOLI' is SSE specific - I checked the general settings, and found the Managed Game option was set to 'Skyrim'. - I believe Wrye "thinks" I'm running Skyrim instead of SSE. (Note: I do not have any other version of Skyrim installed. Only Skyrim Special Edition. Despite this, Wrye seems hell bent on only running for Skyrim. In "C:\Users\user1\Documents\My Games" Wrye, actually CREATES a Skyrim folder with a new Skyrim.ini and Saves folder etc. My actual Skyrim.ini and save games are in a Skyrim Special Edition folder right next to this newly created folder.) Attempted fixes: - Changing Managed Game from Skyrim to Skyrim Special edition I get a warning about automatic reinstallation using the proper -o command line argument. The window then proceeds to close but the program hangs in the background. - Maybe my install was wrong? I've reinstalled Wrye a few times now, making absolutely sure I'm selecting the correct options. If you have doubts I can run through the exact steps I take. - I've looked at the bash_default.ini, and included the line "sOblivionPath=C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition", and saved as bash.ini. I'm not sure about adding in any other lines since they don't seem to be related to what game Wrye is detecting or any path to the Skyrim.ini. In conclusion, Wrye seems to only want to work for Skyrim and despite installing it in the correct location I'm unable to get it to work for SSE. I feel like I've tried the obvious solutions but I'm just not able to figure it out. Could this be an issue with how Vortex is managing my game? Sorry for the length of this post.   6. Hey guys, For the first time, I've run into the problem of the 255 plugin limit. Crazy - considering I've been modding heavily since Oblivion. Anyways, I found two really great tutorials for learning how to merge plugins. The only problem is that they don't go very in-depth. They are more advanced tutorials, but still not what I require. I attempted to merge some weapons mods and spent the last several hours fixing my game saves. The knowledge I needed just wasn't there. So I'm wondering if anyone can tutor me on merging mods - preferrably a modder themselves, or someone very familiar with the engine. The reason is that this 255 problem is ridiculous, and I'm sure I'm not the only person in this position, which brings me to my goal. I want to start an official volunteer mod merging service. Free. Gloriously free. I am hoping that, within time, the Nexus will add a "merge request" section to their forum where volunteers like me can find the most popular requested merges and put out files for the community. Because community is important, and I love all of you guys. I want to contribute. I've been programming since I was 10 (17 years), and have modded Skyrim and other games. But I've never RELEASED a mod. I've never contributed. So this is how I want to contribute: by learning to merge plugins flawlessly so I can offer free merging services to others. I hope to launch my own mod author page ripe with merges for gamers and modders alike to download and enjoy. Would someone please tutor me? I promise I learn quickly. (I taught myself 7+ programming languages starting at age 10 - I can learn very quickly.)

Where it says, "If a mod is orange click on it and look at the right side list again. It should show which mods are out of order. You have three options here depending on your comfort level, one is to simply leave them alone and be content not having anything red. Second is to use WryeBash to make the edit, and third is to use TES5Edit. I prefer WryeBash myself because we are already in there anyway. If you click on those referenced mods you will be prompted to allow changes. If you say yes you can right click on the orange referenced mod names and choose "Change To", selecting the correct mod based on what the list shows." First of all, I don't think it shows me what's out of order. I mean, it shows me what the selected mod depends on... maybe this mod has nothing out-of-order, so it's not warning me? And my other problem is with clicking on a referenced mod to be prompted to allow changes. I'm never prompted, and the "Change To..." option is always greyed out. What obvious thing have I missed?

There's this glitch I've had where when I raise my shield or block with my weapon and then try to attack after letting go of RMB, (i.e. to counterattack after blocking) my character will do some bash/sort of no effort bash. I've had this bug for a while now and always figured it was just a bug in the vanilla game, but recently it's been really bothering me and I decided to load up the vanilla game to see if it was. But turns out I can attack as soon as I let go of RMB. I'm guessing this is caused by Ultimate Combat or Action Combat since I have had those for quite a long time. Help would be fantastic.   11. I apologize if this is in the wrong location or has already been covered, as I have done a fair bit of research and still can't manage to figure this one out. I'm not a complete stranger to modding but feel free to point it out if this is some rookie mistake; I'd be incredibly grateful. So let's start: -I'm getting seemingly random CTDs and freezes in all cells. -I've cleaned all mods with TES5Edit, deleted orphan fragments in SaveTool, patched in Wrye Bash and sorted in LOOT. -All mods are green in Wrye Bash, and I test them on a blue vanilla save to start, but once I save to a new slot, it becomes a (dirty?) red save. -I tried to enable Papyrus logging, but I think because freezing is the issue, it won't create a log file afterwards. Also, I'm getting a SkyUI error telling me it detects 4.0 and that it can't load any of the .swf files, but I have 5.0 and had no issues with it prior. I'm honestly stumped. I've done several tests and it doesn't seem to me like the freezes are triggered by anything specific, and as far as I know all of my mods and their patches are compatible with each other.   12. I apologize if this is in the wrong location or has already been covered, as I have done a fair bit of research and still can't manage to figure this one out. I'm not a complete stranger to modding but feel free to point it out if this is some rookie mistake; I'd be incredibly grateful. So let's start: -I'm getting seemingly random CTDs and freezes in all cells. -I've cleaned all mods with TES5Edit, deleted orphan fragments in SaveTool, patched in Wrye Bash and sorted in LOOT. -All mods are green in Wrye Bash, and I test them on a blue vanilla save to start, but once I save to a new slot, it becomes a (dirty?) red save. -I tried to enable Papyrus logging, but I think because freezing is the issue, it won't create a log file afterwards. Also, I'm getting a SkyUI error telling me it detects 4.0 and that it can't load any of the .swf files, but I have 5.0 and had no issues with it prior. I'm honestly stumped. I've done several tests and it doesn't seem to me like the freezes are triggered by anything specific, and as far as I know all of my mods and their patches are compatible with each other.   13. Hello. I recently wrote a post about WryeBash seemingly being the root of a save corruption. I'm here both to expand on that and to restate the question in a more mannerable and calm fashion. Alas, my previous post is unimportant now. So, essentially, my issues lies with a corrupted savegame. All of my save games are corrupted now, actually. Predictabely, this happened only after trying to create a bashed patch with little to no experience on it. Basically, I watched a video to make a bashed patch which would correct LL, but i suppose it was to no avail. Now, whenever i launch any save, it crashes while loading. Have I done something horribly wrong? I simply clicked 'rebuild patch' in WB over the patch esp, went to LL's, and patched it all. I've since spent 2+ hours of constant tes5edif and LOOT troubleshooting, which is quite a bit of time considering it happened but 5 hours ago and i just woke up after 3 hours of sleep. Any help at all would be superb. I'm in a hole, not quite sure what I've done but if any WryeBash experts out there know what I've done wrong it would be immeasurably appreciated if you could inform me to it. Also, I think I deserve bonus points for writing Wrye and not Wyre, right? ;)
  14. This is likely going to be a severe rant, and for that I sincerely apologize. What you must first know is that it is 5am and i have school in 3 hours, I've been up since 11 figuring this out, I have anger management issues and it clouds my head and makes it hard to think about writing these posts formally (let alone troubleshoot skyrim of all games), and i have no clue what i've done wrong. Basically, i was playing a new save (which i fell in love with by the way) and my little sister was too. we were competing as hunters/archers and whatnot, it was great fun! So, i notice that none of the IA armors or any other armors for that matter were showing up on NPCs, and i'm at a level high enough to see a good share of the armor (known from past experiences). So, i decide to try and solve this issue myself. minimal research on the 'issue' (which i would rather have suffered 1000x over as opposed to what im dealing with rn, in heinsight), i found out about bashed patches. Me being as wise as i am chose to watch a youtube video no longer than 3:30 minutes to figure out how to do this. so, i do it. problem solved? nah. my game is corrupt. CTD when i try to load it at any of my savepoints. Sisters game? also ruined. Maybe worth mentioning that at some point during the bashing i reinstalled immersive armors, not sure if it was during the bashing, before it or after it though (like i said, anger blurs my mind). so ive tried everything since then, ive spent 2 hours trying to restore my game with tes5edit and loot and all these programs to no avail and i just want my game back. I dont even want the stupid patch, i don't care at all anymore, can someone please just help me? how do i reverse this? how do i get all this bashed stuff out of my life? i just want it all like it was man. and please dont comment for the sole purpose of shaming me or laughing at me or insultng me for whining and such. i told you, i have severe, SEVERE anger management issues. it's like an uncontrollable rush of desperate cries for help after a firestorm of rage. but thats another story for another day i guess. TL;DR : tried to create a bashed patch, all saves corrupted, cant restore, NEED HELP SERIOUSLY SO BAD PLEASE SAVE ME FROM MY OWN ANGER AND HELP ME, (cuz i have anger management issues)
  15. I'm trying to create a bashed patch, but Wrye Bash doesn't detect A LOT of my plugins, including Falskaar, Imaginator, SIC, and quite a few others. When I create the bashed patch, all plugins not detected are immediately deactivated, regardless of whether they affect the leveled lists or are otherwise bashable. When I go to NMM to reactivate them, it deactivates the bashed patch. Any undetected mods that affect the leveled list in any way are not bashed into the patch, either. I have looked up this problem, and I have not found much information. How can this problem be fixed?

Im having trouble with Mod Organizer: I am trying to set up a mod folder for my overwrite folder (ie: tes5edit merged esps, automatic variants, asis, duel sheath redux) but I don't understand how to set this up. As it stands when I use tes5edit to create merged esps they don't show up in mod organizer plugin list but are in the overwrite folder. Same for the skyproc patchers. Ive also tried running Wrye Bash through Mod Organizer but it gives me the error "failed to parse esp file E:\Games\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\overwrite\Dual SHeath Redux Patch.esp: file incomplete" I've since uninstalled dual sheath redux and ASIS and automatic variants but I still get the same error. It seems I cant run wrye bash through SMM at all? Can somebody help
  18. Alright so the default value is listed as such: Crime - Days in Prison [100] * Number of Days to advance the calender when serving prison time. Now I have tinkered with this but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it actually does. It does NOT, at default value, advance the game 100 days when you serve your jail time by sleeping on the cot. Not even at maximum bounty, it is 7 days served for 10,000 bounty. Anybody have any clues as to what this actually corresponds to? Searching around the web came up with nothing. I understand the definition should be straightforward, but as I understand it, its not doing what I think it should be doing.
  19. I just recently began playing with Requiem installed and running mostly fine, but today I installed the Requiem patches for the content I had, and now the game CTDs. Wrye shows the Requiem - Dragonborn patch as red, and Immersive Patrols as orange, and I was searching for ways to fix it, and noticed that although moonpath.esm is set to load, and shows up in Wrye as loaded, Tes5edit and BOSS both show under the moonpath_questdata entry that moonpath.esm is not set to load and will cause a crash. Any help?
  20. Somewere in my mod-adding, I must've dun goofed. I was trying out some mod crossbows, tried to bash off some guards, but the bash didn't work. I figured, "eh, it's probably this particular modded crossbow, I can live with it". But I was wrong. I started a new character just today, and tried to bash with an early acquired vanilla hunting bow. Didn't work now either. What do? I've modded my Skyrim to Hell and back again, no way am I re-installing and putting every single mod in one by one.

I'm looking into updating my Block skill tree mod for Skyrim and seems I found a great idea reducing Stamina usage for Shield Bash and Shield Power Bash for a better immersion with my Shield bashing skills.   24. Okay, so I have somewhere around 90 active mods that I use, but the problem is that my Skyrim has consistent freezing issues. I have the follower Cerwiden, and it seems that when she casts her blessing spell that it could cause the freeze but I'm not sure. I have used BOSS, NMM, TES5Edit, and I still freeze about every thirty minutes or so, could someone help me? I just downoaded Wrye Bash but I'm not 100% sure how to use it. Hello, I have looked for quite a while on here and the googlez for somebody answering or even discussing this question I've been having and have found nothing but one topic in which nobody responded. So, here I am. OK, so I've hit the hard limit of 255 plugins for Skyrim, and have been looking into merging particular .ESPs into one using TES5Edit in order to shorten my load order so that I can finish installing my desired mods. I also use Wrye Smash to make a Bashed Patch. Say that one of the plugins being merged into one ESP has a Bash Tag suggestion by BOSS. Obviously BOSS does not recognize my newly created .ESP, and thus it cannot know if it needs Bash Tags or not. My question now is this: Should I manually add the Bash Tags that were suggested by BOSS on the non-merged .ESPs to my new merged .ESP in Wrye Bash before rebuilding the Bashed Patch? Or would it somehow be fine without it, or even a bad idea to add them? I only ask because I truly do not know what to do. I want correct leveled lists, but I don't know if adding a Bash Tag to the merged .ESP will affect the other mods included in that .ESP in a negative way. Also, if anyone is knowledgable about this, I have a related question: For merged .ESPs with multiple .ESPs requiring different Bash Tags, would I just include all of the ones that are included in any of the subsidiary .ESPs? or is the process somehow different? I feel that many other users will now be asking these questions or similar ones, due to Sheson's memory patch allowing for more intensive load orders. TL;DR - My question is this: When merging multiple .ESPs into one .ESP using TES5Edit to save on load order space, and when using Wrye Bash to build a Bashed Patch, should I manually re-add the Bash Tags suggested by BOSS for the individual pre-merged .ESPs to the new merged .ESP to ensure correct leveled lists? Or should I specifically leave it alone in order to avoid a problem? Thank you to anyone willing to answer such an obscure and stupid question. EDIT: I have read a little bit of more info from the comments on the nexus page for the Merge Plugins script, and am considering avoiding merging any mods with Bash Tags, as I am afraid I will lose better leveled lists. However, the question still stands. UPDATE: matortheeternal, in the comments on his Merge Plugin Script page on the Nexus, says that simply adding the bash tags from the pre-merged .ESPs on to the new merged .ESP and then rebuilding the bashed patch as normal should work.
