After playing games using mods i finaly decided id make an effort to learn it for myself. Id like some pointers telling me where to start (e.g tutorials ect.) Any help would be appreciated :)

So After much time I decided to buy SSE, I played the Original Version with a few DLCs Now I ever wanted to start as a Teenager (mod exists) that lives in Skyrim and do my stuff (no dragons - no mention of dragonborn/Helgen) as a thief or whatever. I really loved the idea that I can start the main questline if I go to the place where Ulfric is captured, and then get involved in the ambush and from there keep the cinematic sequence from the beginning. Is there any mod that is similar to that? (I just dislike LAL because you don't get the cart speech with next to Ulfric, Alduin's saving ur head, and Skyrim Unbound just bypass these quests that in my opinion are lore related and break immersion) Also if a mod like that doesn't exist I'm very interested in becoming a modder so I could start developing my idea. Any suggestions guys? PD: I could also Merge it with the Opening Scene Overhaul SE, that looks amazing!

I've played Skyrim on console up to this point but recently got a gaming laptop so i decided to get skyrim for the mods. I bought the Old (Non SE) Skyrim off steam and the DLC I installed Nexus Mod Manager And I installed SKSE and know to launch the game from SKSE Is there anything else that I need before I start freely modding my game?

Kind of odd in Fallout 4 how you are very much forced to play a certain kind of character considering every other Fallout game leaves things more ambiguous so the player is free to fill in the gaps. I mean I can work off of what the game establishes but with my next playthroughs I like to play a completely different character and what if you didn't want to be a middle ages parent? What if you wanted to play a teenager, or an old person? It's kind of hard to play a ruthless evil waste-lander when you've been so loving and caring to your husband. I mean you could but then there's no consistent character motives and that hurts my brain. One suggestion I have is that the starting couple might have a much older child, say a nineteen year old, that you could choose to play, or maybe a grandparent. This would maintain the plot of needing to find the baby. Or a full alternate start that's more ambiguous like Bethesda's other games yet still establishes a need to find the baby.

Hello, This is my first post on the forums! My idea is something like an alternative start mod. I've played through the original main quest so many times, and at this point I just want to explore and make my own store as I go. I was thinking about a mod where instead of starting the game as a vault dweller, you instead start as the overseer of either Vault 101 or any other vault. I think it would bring a new dynamic to the choices that would have to be made. I suppose it would be a little bit like Fallout Shelter in a sense, but you are able to go beyond the inside of the vault. You'd be able to choose to open the door or not. Possibly the ablilty to go out on your own, and instead of trying to find Dad, you would have to go to Megaton and establish a trade partnership of some sort, and an outside contact. Just a thought, please give me some more insight and ideas, if anybody else has thought about it. I've searched for a mod like this but have not found anything! :)

I've tried everything. Spent hours trying to fix this problem and I'm about to give up.. The game crashes after the loading screen that occurs when you sleep in the bed in the alternate beginning. The game appears to run normally without FWE installed. So I have been modding New Vegas a bit and I finally decided to go all the way to make it a better looking and playing game. I'm new to modding so I decided I would try to play it relatively safe: Get the most endorsed mods and as few mods that do the same as I could. I also tried to steer clear of mods that I had to install manually so as to avoid mucking things up. I have been dabbling with modding it for a few weeks on an old save but before I tried this I decided to uninstall all the mods I had and make clean installs of pretty much everything and then making a new save game. So I install the mods, run into little trouble except for running the wrong patches or patches that patch the same stuff or something like that but eventually I recon I got all the mods to work with each other but then came my trouble. First of all, when I try to start my new game, Doc Mitchell skips over typing my name or creating my character and I'm also unable to use the Vigor Tester. Mitchell goes on with the dialouge as if everything is fine and I end up with an unmade character. I think "I'm gonna get a chance to change things later, when I leave Goodsprings so I'll just go play the game." Then I realize that the escape key doesn't work. (Managed to fix that) Then I run into trouble with my equipment menu and such. I don't have a pip-boy. I was running the readius mod and just uninstalled/reinstalled it along with all the other mods but for some reason when I try to bring up my pip-boy/readius I end up looking at the empty palm of my hand. So to sum up I've got a non-character player character and no pip-boy. (And no, Doc Mitchell doesn't give me a pip-boy) Can someone please help? Edit: Load order text file won't upload. Hello everyone! I have recently put a lot of mods on Skyrim, and everything runs smoothly, except for one thing. Whenever I leave Helgen and walk about 20 steps towards riverwood, the game crashes. There is no lag, no error report, and TES5 Edit says that nothing is conflicting. I have no idea what is going on :psyduck: If anyone has ever had this problem and/or knows how to fix it, then please help!!! Thanks! :smile:

Everytime i look at the new Mods for Skyrim i think:"Should i reinstall it? Start to play it again?" but then i think about the Main Quest, fighting Alduin and how long it takes to just complete this Quest. If i dont finish the Quest i always have in mind, that somewhere in skyrim alduin is around and works on his plan to destroy the world. I could just ignore the quest but that wouldnt be the same, i dont want to play the game like this. So here's my Mod idea: A simple mod that skips the main quest The player starts a new game, creates his character and spwans somewhere in skyrim,he then proceed to explore the beauty of the nature and stumbles upon a lot of adventures. i hope i managed to describe my idea as simple as possible thanks in advance Dek0

I'm a huge fan of the Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod, but it only has preset choices. Would it be possible to create a similar mod or expand upon that mod to allow custom starts to the game? This would essentially mean creating a character, choosing starting equipment, starting magic/effects on player, animations (i.e. just standing, waking up, passing out, etc.), and typing in whatever the quest journal would say (giving a background story to your alternate start). I know that this is possible through the creation kit, but for the majority of us, that's really freakin' difficult to do, so could this be done as a mod, potentially one where when you click New Game it gives two options: Vanilla or Custom?

Hello everyone, I have a custom video and I would like to put it in the start up menu (with the huge skyrim logo). It would be like a mod that you can chose which video would play in the background (sound or no sound choice) but you could still navigate in the start up menu. In my opinion, this mod could be a succes because people like to ''custom made'' their Skyrim game. Thanks for helping!

So I've just recently gotten into modding Skyrim, and I'm having some issues with a CTD at the intro sequence, right as the thief is talking. I have SSME, used TES5edit to clean the update.esm, dlcs and anything else LOOT asked for(now at 0 warnings). I haven't made any bashed patches as it seemed to make it worse with previous attempts at fixing this(not sure how), although if you all recommend it I will run it again. So here is all the info I have for now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Computer Intel i5-4570 3.2GHz 8GB RAM Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 OC Windows 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mods using NMM Skyrim Mod Combiner using iBeas7n's Cut settings Bethesda High-Res DLC Optimized w/ patch Unofficial Skyrim Patch SkyUI Memory Block Log (My memory block log shows the first only hitting around 230, so no issue there) Alternate Start - Crashed before this was installed. Since it was crashing at the intro, I tried to bypass it with this Unofficial Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn patch Stable uGridsToLoad - Stabilizer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Papyrus Log ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Load order running LOOT, no manual editing ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have tried fixing it multiple times, re-installing almost everything, with my last attempt being re-installing Skyrim, add all mods listed above, and clean the DLCs and any other warnings on LOOT. When I re-installed Skyrim, however, all I did was delete the Skyrim folder in Steam. Should I have deleted more? Was that not a "true" clean install? I'm almost certain it is going to be something very obvious, but my brain is absolutely fried after messing with this while multitasking other things. Any help is appreciated, thanks! Edit: I haven't tried disabling any mods inside of SMC as I'm not sure if disabling one mod that effects another will cause a CTD on its own. If this is incorrect, I'll just start disabling to see if one is causing it.

I have nexus mod manager and altered beginning mod installed in then when i start the game with new game i dont even get black out and the quest is named rebound and starts with the normal quest line

Exploring the Fallout landscapes for the first time is the best part of the game and when it's all found it gets kinda dull. Wouldn't it be nice to turn off the locations on the map until you've found it like in the beginning of the game? One thing that bugs me with the game is the amount of invisible walls that prevent you from squeezing through a window that you fit through, jumping from a wall or when you're climbing up a rock. Does anyone know a mod that lets you ignore them noclip-style?

Hello everyone! I am quite new to modding, although I did my fair share on Oblivion a few years ago. I was happily adding mods, everything working quite well, I was using STEP and GEMS as reference... A few minutes ago I tested my current load order before progressing further, and something strange was happening during the introduction.7 Basically, Ralof was restless, his head looking left and right, left and right, instead of looking at the bottom of the cart. I think he was trying to track my position and each time he was repositionning to my new position (as I was moving with the cart). I am... really confused. I don't think anything in my load order should have done that. Would you kindly take a look and tell me if I am doing something wrong ? It's a minor issue, but I am afraid it could hide a deeper problem. Thank you very much everyone!
