hey there guys.. uhh..I know this topic has been an issue since fallout 4 launched, but I've not been able to find any solutions to my problem in particular. basically, every single human being has brown face. every skin tone, every preset both vanilla and modded..literally everyone. it's actually making me want to cry. I take most of my enjoyment from settlement building and modifying my characters appearance and story, so having her eyebrows suddenly run off and for her and every other person in Boston turn a specific shade of brown is really upsetting. (I also have a problem with unscrappable bushes and it's driving me absolutely nuts) this brown face doesn't match any skin tones either. it's it's own shade. sometimes, her face will just be a black void with two eyes!! I honestly don't know what to do. It happens when I both enable and disable the HD texture pack. it happens no matter what CBBE skins I'm using or whatever. it happens even after messing about for like two hours with the brown face workaround, after using both blackface patches on here.. I'm at my wits end!!! if anyone could help me I would be eternally grateful ;^; and if anybody does have a solution, could you please explain it to me like you would to a kid? I have problems with learning and following instructions to a degree >.< thank you so much in advance <3

Hey, I know this sounds like a classical blackface bug, but to my knowledge, this shouldn't happen. I have a lot of mods in my modlist (250), but I only want to change an NPCs hair from Helgen Reborn (HR) with one from KS Hairdos (wigs, HDT, or just classic). Problem is, no matter what I do, I get a blackface bug on said NPC [1]. Using "SetNPCWeight 100" fixes it [2], but that only works temporarily as any reload, area change or restart brings back the blackface What I did is I loaded SSEdit, created a new plugin with **only** the NPC in question from Helgen Reborn (meaning the only two plugins that modify the NPC are HR and my plugin.) SSEdit doesn't allow me to set .esp files as masters, so I loaded ZEdit and proceeded to add all the hair mods as masters to my file (no changes to HR). Then I went back to SSEdit and promptly changed the NPCs hair in my plugin. One odd thing I noticed is that when I do change the hair, instead of keeping it in the same line as the hair from HR, it just adds a new line with the modded hair in it, and the default hair area is just blank [3]. My plugin is loaded dead last in my load order, and the only thing it does is change the hair of the NPC, but every time I load up the game, I get a blackface on that NPC. I don't know what to do from here as the load order is properly setup, the only changes my plugin does to the NPC is the hair, and all the hair mods as well as HR are masters of my plugin. I did read about redoing the facegen files with Ctrl+F4 on Creation Kit, but afaik you need to convert your plugins to a readable mod format for CK, make the changes, and convert it back, which is quite a lot of work, especially considering I'm not really well versed in CK. I'll provide some screenshots of what I made later. I'd also like to note that I have made backups every single time I made changes to a plugin, so I can always rollback if need be and nothing will be lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you. I get a crapton of errors [4] [5] [6] when loading my patch and their masters (I modified the .ini accordingly to support loading multiple master files and such [7] [8]) along with a list of error warnings [9], and whenever I try to save anything, I get another set of errors [10] [11] and nothing gets saved. I also can't find anything on how to regen the facegen files, pressing Ctrl+F4 does nothing, so I'm out of ideas. So, I had the old brown-face bug and, naturally, to fix it I exported the npc's facegeom. However, Skyrim VR (being the programming masterpiece it is) now crashes whenever the npc comes into view. I have no clue where to start on fixing this...

So Iâve been wanting to upload my character overhaul mod for Skyrim special edition and Iâve looked up ways to try to cure black face to upload it onto Nexus but I cannot figure it out, can anyone help me with this problem ?? I uploaded a character overhaul mod a while back called Gay Gages Gorgeous Guys lol but I cannot figure out how to make the black face go away for others to upload the mod. Pleaseee helpppp Google cannot fix everything Lol

I UNINSTALLED EVERYTHING AND STILL THERE IS A F**ING HAIR MOD ON MY FF**ING NPC AND IT GETS BLACKFACED EVERY TIME I TRY TO PUT ON A MOD I WANT TO USEEEEEEEEEE. Hi everybody, I successfully installed ESFCompanion to my Skyrim SE. When I went ingame, some Companion NPCs (Aela, Farkas, Njada, Torvar & Athis) had a blackface as I was using BIJIN Warmaidens and Male NPC Overhaul, so I decided to try and fix it with SSEEdit (without having enough basic skills, unfortunately). I found out online that it could easily be done by overriding/overwriting esps (yes, I got confused and did sh*t :unsure: ) with the one I wanted to enable on the NPCs. It didn't work so I have decided to give up on ESFCompanion BUT the blackface are still there ingame. I tried reinstalling the mods linked to my overrides/overwrites but it changed nothing. Even with other appearance mods they still have a blackface. The only way for them to not have one is going for the vanilla appearance. They (Aela, Farkas, Njada, Torvar & Athis) are the only NPCs affected, the others accept any mod (as long as there aren't any clashes, of course), so I am sure my actions are the source of the issue. I haven't found a way to fix it online, to revert/undo/reset changes made. I don't want to cause any more harm to the game so I am asking for help. If someone is willing and can, can you help me please please please? Thank you in advance and have a great day! :D

The new follower i had made has a black face with a sharp cut line at the neck and the KS Hairdo doesn't show up either. it gets overwritten by the vanilla hairstyles ONLY when i have run the game and go back to check the esp file with creation kit. i've been trying so many methods of trying to solve this; (ctrl + F4), changing certain face gen morphs, creating a whole replica of the follower. im using vortex mod manager and i have about 100+ mods downloaded and the last thing i want to do is reconfigure the mod load order but is there something that will help make the process easier? (if the issue is the mod load order)

Hello, I am having an issue with the blackface bug that was introduced with the High Resolution Texture Pack DLC. I have tried using the mod "High Res DLC Black Face Fix" as was suggested in an old thread, and that did nothing to fix my issue. Below is a screenshot of my issue (NSFW warning), as well as my current load order via LOOT: Load Order: Blackface Bug Image: I have no idea what is causing this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first time modding FO4. I have modded SkyrimSE without these issues in the past.

I have tried and tried and tried (x3.14) my damnedest to get my NPCs I've made to use the race menu heads I've made for them, I've tried kalilis way, I've tried just about everyone on YouTube's way, I have done it the nifmerge/nifoptimise way. I have tried every which way but upside down and if the NPCs face isn't the vanilla one but pitch black it is smeared across the screen vertexes flying into oblivion. Why? WHY?! Someone please help before I toss my computer into a wood chipper. Please.

While I haven't be able to solve the black faced vampires, I was able to solve the issue with Aranea by installing the version of her replacer mod from oldrim. There were no issues with her direct porting to SSE so, if it isn't broke, don't fix it I suppose. Thank you all for you attention on this and have a wonderful day.
