  1. So I play with gyro. I'm so used to it that I can't play anything without it. Especially FPS games. Unfortunately dead Island 2 uses the right joystick to move around the menu. This is really really annoying I would like this removed because gyro outputs right joystick controls. Please someone do something! I know this might be a niche thing but it pains me to play this game and I play with my wife and friends and they enjoy it so much. I just need this one thing PLEASE!!!
  2. In my New Vegas game I play in third person a lot and I like walking places. It feels more natural to walk places instead of jogging everywhere and I even have a "faster walking" mod installed to make my walking NOT painstakingly slow. I decided to install the sprint mod because sprinting is fun, and I wanted to have what most FPS games have: shift to run. However, I wanted to maintain my ability to walk so I binded 'walk' to Left-Alt and attempted to bind sprint to left-shift using the Vault-Tec Pedometer provided by the mod. However, it appears the pedometer does not register my pressing of the shift key during binding, and now I have TAB to sprint for some reason. Can someone give me a way to have my sprinting bound to Shift without replacing my walk keybind?
  3. Personally, I'm too used to pressing the 'Z' key to pick up objects, and I too frequently end up stealing things in mistake instead of picking up objects or items. Is there a way to remap this key to something else? or is it hardcoded into the game by default? Please help :confused: Thanks :happy:
  4. First off, I hope this is in the right section. I'm not a frequent user of this forum. Not sure if any one remembers me posting this a while ago (hence the badly-named thread title). I had an issue which I couldn't quite work out. Basically all my controls will stop responding out of nowhere. My character will start moving differently (his arms stuck down his sides and running like he's dancing a jig, as I'd describe it), my mouse buttons stop working (can't bring up PipBoy, equipped weapon, aim, etc) and my keyboard becomes unresponsive (escape doesn't work, neither does quick-saving). If I'm in first person, scrolling out with the mouse wheel causes my character to flicker where you can briefly see him in third person. Well it's still happening. Since my previous post, I gave up with it and stopped playing NV. Only recently I was missing the game, so I started playing again, hoping the issue had resolved, but no. It's still there, kicking off randomly when after I've played a lengthy amount on a new save. A couple of points that I think are relevant: 1. It happens on a new save (I have several hard-saves, though I usually start over when I install/remove mods). When I started playing again I started fresh saves, I also removed some mods I didn't fancy anymore and installed some new ones, starting fresh each time. 2. No errors listed in LOOT, no mod conflicts, I carefully install mods and test them out, and remove mods that don't work. 3. I get no problems early on in a new save; 100% of the time when it's happened I've been level 15+...this may be a coincidence, but it's happened like that each time...I have no problems up until I've been playing for several hours and levied up a lot, and then it starts occurring. 4. I don't have an overload of large mods and I don't install rubbish, mainly small fixes, tweaks and additions. I do run the game with FNV4GB as I have a large graphic overhaul mod as I find the vanilla graphics/texture unappealing, and I also have NVSE as I use a few mods that require it. 5. I have FOOK which is one of the bigger mods I have, I'm wondering if that's part of it, whether the game's camera is conflicting with FOOK, or if there's a line of text in the game.dat (I believe it's called) notepad file that's enabled and shouldn't be. Again these are my speculations so they're just "maybe it's this...". 6. It's not hardware related. My mouse is virtually new and my keyboard, though I've had it for a while, works 100% and does not play up or have connection issues ever. Everything's connected correctly to my PC and I don't use plugged-in controllers. This time I recorded it in action using my tablet. I had to do it with one hand as I couldn't find my tablet stand, plus it was late at the time, so please excuse the average recording quality. I was level 27 or so, the longest I've ever played without this weird issue happening. I cut out the remaining 20 seconds or so of video, as it showed nothing of interest apart from me backpedaling away helplessly from a Mother Deathclaw which had magically spawned after I reloaded a save, and since I can't do anything with my character except for slide around awkwardly I force-closed the game. I hope I can get this sorted. If you wish to have more video of it happening then let me know, and I'll go and record some more of it when I have the time and upload it to YT and link it here.
  5. So, I saw this video early last week and, being a big fan of Dark Souls myself, I thought I would reinstall Skyrim to give just about everything in it a go. That means I've got all of the armors shown off installed, as well as most of the UI mods. I also have TK Dodge and Immersive animations installed. So, to get to the point, I have two major problems right now. I started up in The Chill just outside of Winterhold using Skyrim Unbound and as I was setting up controls I ran into my first problem, that being I can't unbind any controls through the pause menu, leading to me having to set my hotkey for Unlocked Grip to the same button as sneak. I did some research on Google and around here, but no solutions. I tried messing with my controls.txt as this post suggested, but it hasn't done anything yet. I tried changing the file to an .ini and renaming the folder in a couple different ways, thinking the OP had mistyped, but no luck there either. So, after finding a setup I was comfortable with for the time being, I started on my way to Winterhold. There were a few CTDs on the way there which is to be expected for a fresh install with some heavy mods, but I started having a problem that I've never come across before. As I'm walking up to Winterhold proper, probably as all the assets are loading up for that area, my game starts stuttering pretty heavily then completely locks up with all the ambience and footstep sounds still playing. I tried waiting for a few minutes to see if it would fix itself but I don't think that was helping either. After doing my usual troubleshooting and it still wasn't working, I turned to Google to see what kind of problems I may be running into. At first I thought it may have been running out of VRAM, but after trying to disable a couple graphics intensive mods I figured that wasn't it. I have Enhanced Towns and Villages active as well as JK's Skyrim, which I thought might be conflicting causing the freezing but that didn't seem to do anything. So, sensing a pattern, I rolled back to an earlier save and started traveling along the coast to Dawnstar, trying to test if it was just Winterhold causing me to freeze or if it was just going inland into Skyim. So I travel along aways, and after getting right around here, the freezing starts happening again, leading me to think that this problem just starts happening whenever I go inland. So at this point I've got two options, either figure out a fix for this or hunker down and become an abominable snowman for the rest of my days. I'm playing on Legendary edition (obviously), latest version of SKSE, using NMM, and LOOT. The only files that aren't cleaned with TES5Edit are the DLCs.   6. So I'm playing xcom 2 on a tablet PC. It runs well, and most controls can be handled just fine with point and click with the tablets pen when using it without a keyboard, with a couple of exceptions. Firstly, making a unit move to a space works, but isnt ideal, as for some reason, xcom doesnt allow you to map Left Mouse Click to a button assignment in tactical controls, only right click (the touch pen doesnt have an easy right click!) Secondly, toggling the elevation up and down (defaults to F and C on a keyboard) has no buttons in the HUD to do the same function (though all other gameplay actions and camera actions seem to), and so is completely unavailable without plugging in a mouse or keyboard. If anyone knows of any mods that could address either or both of these issues it would be a great help.
  7. Hello! I have recently been working on a massive project to get any and all Virtual Reality equipment working with Skyrim without any issues. So far it has been very successful. I am at the point where everything works smooth and great except for one issue. I need a mod to allow the use of the MOUSE (NOT KEYBOARD) and a CONTROLLER at the SAME TIME. This would be to enable a full scale room using this OSVR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift at this point in time. In Skyrim, the controls are force linked with either the controller or keyboard & mouse. A mod already exists to break this link upon the keyboard and controller, but not the mouse. As you know, it is nearly impossible to play a VR game using a keyboard & mouse by standing up in a center of a room that is empty for play space. This is where controllers come in. I am currently using Beta software that allows taking the mouse pointer in screen and locking it with the VR sets. This does not allow for moving forward and back or rotations, but it meets a simple break through for allowing room scale controls with Skyrim in particular. I am planning on releasing this so you can use VR headset controls for almost any game (I just chose Skyrim as my game tester hence the plenty of build mods). Now this is where the issue really comes into play. Since the VR set is linked with mouse movement in Skyrim and you need a full scale play-space to play with the VR, I need to get both the controller and mouse working simultaneously so we can look around and move the body, not just one or the other. Overview: - Allow use of controller and mouse at the same time Reason: - Allow full sale room playing for VR sets Benefits: - Bring change to the modding community by taking a step towards VR by allowing Skyrim, and many other games compatible with the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and the OSVR Conclusion: This seems simple enough but if I know modding it can get real in depth and complicated for something that would sound easy. Accepting this mod request and leaving a link to it in reply would help out many other people who also play Skyrim in VR. I will release the programs and other mods that I have used to make Skyrim in VR possible on a room scale movement level when everything comes together and is complete. This is a mod we can really use in the community and I hope someone out there will pick up this task. Thank you for your time. - Trevor
  8. Can someone make a Mod which changes the controls to something like Dark Souls, Witcher 2/3 or Assassin's Creed? I mean the way you attack, the way you control your Character (3rd Person) Vanilla Skyrim Combat to Dark Souls Combat Instead of fighting an enemy like in a fps game... you fight just like the games mentioned above, Not Camera Movement Based Attacks, Aiming-at-Enemy Type Attack.
  9. In the past I used to use a PS3 controller for my games on Steam but took a hiatus from using it as I grew accustomed to using Mouse and Keyboard. However until recently I attempted to try to play a game with my PS3 controller using the emulator but Skyrim recognized this somehow and changed my controls to a Gamepad for Skyrim. Problem is the controller didn't work so I gave up on it relatively quickly and it won't connect to my PC. This means I cannot change the settings for my gamepad on Skyrim because I have no way to access the Settings. I tried disabling the Gamepad through SkyrimPrefs.ini but to no avail. I would like assistance in solving this matter. Thanks in advance :)

I'd like to be able to edit a ceiling while the view is flipped over like I'm looking at the floor, but the only way I know how to do that is by temporarily inverting the camera in preferences, which is a major pain in the neck. Is there a way to set it permanently so an upside down view doesn't invert the controls? Suggestions would be appreciated.
  11. Myself and many others prefer not to have to hold down the right mouse button to aim down the sights of the guns. Would someone make it so it is possible to have a toggle option when ADS of the guns in game. I have tried to do this myself but I am just not sure how or where to even begin since there hasn't been any official mod support released yet. I have however managed to make a workaround but that's having to use another piece of software which some people are not so keen on doing so.   12. This may have been asked numerous times before. but I haven't found an answer yet. So, I love playing this game with a gamepad (yes I love gamepads so what?) and I know you can't easily enter the console window or quicksave/quickload the game. It is my belief there has got to be a mod that turns at least those keyboard keys on. I do realize this may not be done in the normal scripting language for FO3, but I hope it's somehow possible with FOSE. I also wonder if it has been done before and if anyone can point me in the right direction. I did find one "mod". It was an xpadder profile for playing FO3 with keyboard and mouse but I have no idea how effective it is, and it's kind of a work-around and not a mod. The "mod" relies on xpadder's control scheme to map keyboard to the controller which could be odd, but I haven't really tested this. It is my belief that since the game engine can natively support both modes that this can be possible without xpadder (or other joy2key like software). So... is this possible or am I only dreaming?

I never noticed how greedy Skyrim was when it came to controls because it's hard coded to let Alt+Tab through, but if you try to use any uncommon key shortcuts such as Win+1, or a custom key combination such as Alt+1, you'll find that Skyrim says "Oh, I see you pressed a key combination. I WILL TELL NO ONE ELSE YOU PRESSED IT MUHAHAHAHA." It intercepts and kills all key combinations aside from Alt+Tab and Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Is there any way to prevent it from doing this?
  14. I've just finished reinstalling Oblivion because I lost my hard drive and everything on it to a virus attack. I went to start a game and wanted to use the controls I'm used to so I reset the 'Grab' control to 'Space bar', but it won't work. I tried another key, but it still doesn't work. I can't play without that particular control. What can I do?
  15. Hello! I'm trying (so far in vain) to find a mod that will allow me to make my controls while scrapping items at places such as red rocket and sanctuary a more pleasant experience. At the moment I have not found a way to make the 'confirm' function anything other than enter, which is a long way from the scrap button. Ideally I'd have the confirm the same button as the scrap button so I can do it quickly and not interferer with my mouse at all. Thanks in advance - Kind regards -
  16. I hate the fact the character has a delay between landing and being able to jump again. I have always loved bethesda RPG's for their 1:1 movement in regard to controls, and the delay really annoys me xD Would it be possible to remove the delay completely, so the character can jump on the same frame the character comes into contact with the floor like all the others? It doesn't even appear to wait for an animation, I really don't know what it is supposed to achieve. Some may think its more immersive, but I find it much less immersive when my bloody character doesnt do what I tell him. Thanks
  17. I play Fallout 4 on the PC/Steam and the UI is SO counter intuitive because it uses a console setup and is completely NOT optimized for Keyboard/Mouse usage, it's so bad! If someone could make a mod to polish all this out that would be great! Some windows require you to press ESC, or TAB, or ENTER to escape them while at the same time they may require TAB or ENTER to open. It's so incohesive I keep clicking the wrong buttons. I know I could just 'rebind' some stuff but I would much rather have one button that will exit me out of or cancel stuff and one button to open or approve of stuff with the exception of opening Pip-Boy initially. Secondly, having to use arrow keys to navigate the workbench is also annoying, a UI overhaul with a list of categories to choose from rather than going up and down might be more oversee-able and useful. Then finally, when using a computer and you go 'back' a page to click on another 'link' the selection is sort of stuck? and you need to move around before you can select stuff. Being able to scrap junk while in inventory rather than having to drop it (unless I'm blind which is certainly a possibility with how hard it is to find anything on this mess, but I can't see a way to do it otherwise). If there are ways to fix all this without a mod please let me know, I mean, I 'think' I will be able to rebind some stuff but it would be so much easier to just whack on a mod and navigation = fixed. I feel Bethesda dropped the ball on this big time (the rest of the game is great though).

Hello there, I've been searching for a while now but I can't seem to find any answers/solutions, I seem to remember that holding "R" can reset some hotkeys to their defaults, though I think that's only for mods in the MCM. I'm looking for a way to unbind vanilla hotkeys, such as quick magic, and quick inventory, two options that are already available in the tween menu; by all accounts, the tween menu is simply a radial menu, and when I place options into a radial menu, I do it to free up my other keys, so I can't for the life of me understand why Bethesda would put quick magic/inventory into a radial menu, but also keep their regular keys as well; it wouldn't be so bad if I could unbind them, but Bethesda seemed to also think that making a keybind mandatory was also a good idea, they seem to have a lot of those... Truth be told, I have a lot of mods that require hotkeys, and very few keys to spare, so if I can remove the hotkeys that just don't see any use, then I can spare them for more important functions. Is there a mod I can download to do this? Or perhaps a config file I'm not seeing? Cheers!

Looking to get the Fire Selected/highlighted weapon group control added in like in MWO. youd think since both games are done by the same ppl that it would be in the game but nope. every Mechwarrior game i can remember this is the way it was and now you need multiple fire buttons, just dont work right for me having more than 1 fire button.
  20. I genunely cannot believe how they've managed to take controls that were already really bad (but fine with rebind) and make them 10x worse by forcing you to use mouse for pitch control. Please tell me there's a mod that lets you rebind these keys? I know I can plug in a gamepad and it'll probably be better but that is just too much messing about for me and it'll ruin the fun. In the originals I just used to rebind the keys so that WASD were forward/backwards/sideways tilt and jump/crouch keys controlled the ascent and descent, then it was easy and convenient to aim the guns with the mouse. In the definitive edition this only works well for helicopters.. with planes the rudders are locked to the mouse and its just completely awful! Cheers!
  21. I know I know, someone can just say: "why dont you just reverse it yourself in the settings?" Well, issue is: then dual handed weapons on left hand have block, while on right hand have attack, same goes with bows, on left hand is bash, while on right hand is shoot. Anyone, know a mod that fixes it?
  22. I somehow managed to completely break my game and make it genuinely unplayable. I downloaded XP32, racemenu, and FNIS hoping to use XP32âs sheath options for my character, but the animations looked a little funky when fed through Nemesis so I decided to uninstall it. Somehow, for whatever reason, it took a few of the animations from Underdog with it, dropping me from 411 animations in Nemesis down to 408. Now, whenever I sprint, my character A-poses. I have tried reacquiring them by redownloading Underdog and updating Nemesis multiple times, and even fully uninstalling XP32, FNIS, and Racemenu, but nothing I've tried to do has worked. Not only that, but when trying to troubleshoot the problem, I somehow managed to completely shut off my keyboard controls in-game and now the only button that functions properly is the crouch button. I don't even know what I did that caused that. I'm completely at my wit's end now and Google is about as unhelpful as always, so I was hoping I could come to the forums to find some help with unf*#@ing my game. Edit: Okay, so I figured out what the problem was with the lack of controls; turns out the dummy fnis that Nemesis made for XPM had taken over for the real FNIS when I initially downloaded it and freaked out, so deleting that gave me back control of my character. My character is still A-posing when sprinting, though.
  23. Playing Steam's latest Anniversary Edition with latest USSEP, latest SKSE64, using Mod Organizer 2, plugins have been cleaned with xEdit whenever LOOT tells me I have to. So, the way I test my modding is by starting a new game. Ever since the update to Anniversary Edition, I haven't been able to progress past the part in Helgen Keep where I'm with Ralof and he tells me to loot Gunjar's body. When I try, it just drags Gunjar's corpse. Normally, I have to hold down the Activate key to drag things. Nope, this just seems to toggle dragging when I press the key for Activate. Where it normally says "E Search Gunjar", the E inside it's little box icon (along with the box icon) is missing. I tested Skyrim SE on Steam (by itself, without the mods on Mod Organizer) and the only issue I had was that the H key (which is the key for dropping stuff in your inventory or toggling holstering and unholstering outside your inventory) had to be changed.to R. Still can't even search Gunjar's body in the modded Skyrim, though. So, I guess the issue may have to do with something getting messed with from the updates? Wondering if any of you know a way to fix this. I've tried changing the controls in the menu, and whatever key I change Activate to still just drags Gunjar's corpse as stated previously.   24. Apologies if I am asking for something that already exists, but I can't find anything. I tried many times to find an existing solution to this. Section 1 --- Removing an irritation and annoyance --- I keep accidentally drinking potions and equipping items directly from loot. This is not because I don't know what the correct button is to do what I want. It's because I forget and screw up, and I believe I screw up because, in the barter menu, the trigger button 'takes,' but in looting/container menus the same button 'uses.' I would like to give a giant thumbs down to whoever designed it this way. Just in case it may be relevant: I am using VRIK with the "VRIK Player Avatar Controller Bindings" mod. I tried to see if I could figure out anything by reading "controlmapvr.txt" in it, but i could not. Any of the following solutions would suit me: (1) removal of the 'use' function from containers/npcs altogether, or (2) have a confirmation dialogue to confirm that I really do want to drink that potion right out of the dead bandit's pocket, and put on his crap armor instead of what I'm wearing, or (3) re-map the container/npc buttons to do the same thing in all inventory menus. That is, I would like the trigger to 'take,' not 'use.' I believe the best solution overall would be a combination of solution (3) along with (2) with a possible option for solution (1). I probably actually would go for solution (1). Rarely, if ever, I have wanted to equip/use directly, even from a follower. __________________________ Section 2 --- Adding a convenience --- I would like to be able to blacklist items from being taken while looting. Specifically, I would like to be able to blacklist clutter and low-value items like Draugr weapons from being included with the "take all function." Again, I have tried searching through existing mods many times with no success.
  25. I got a bug where the controls stop working after a few (almost ten) minutes of gameplay. I have to close the game using Alt-Tab when this happens. This problem is recent so I don't know what's causing it.
