  1. The bulk of my SSD is filled with hundreds of fallout 4 mods. I don't want to lose them though, so I'd like to move them to my other drive while I play different games for now. Is there a specific file that can just be dragged then put back when I'm ready again?
  2. I just installed a new SSD, and want to copy my mod setup from my old HDD to my new SSD, as closely to the current setup as I can, without having to go through and re-download and reinstall each mod as they were originally installed. I saw some really old posts about this (2014 and before) and I wanted to know if there was any updated or easier way to do this, or if there's a specific way to accomplish this task in a matter of a couple hours tops. Any ideas?
  3. Hello I recently moved Skyrim to my SSD as I heard it helps with loading times. However, when trying to open NMM, it cannot locate skyrim.esm and fails to open. NMM is installed on my HDD, which is what is causing the problem. Is there a way to keep Skyrim on the SSD and mod it with NMM or will I have to either mod things manually (and keep on the SSD), or move it back onto the HDD (and be able to use NMM) In short, does NMM have to be on the same drive as the game you are trying to mod? Thanks
  4. I would LOVE for there to be a powerful large light, that can be turned on and off, that hits the screen for the starlight drive-in settlement. jsut a light originating from the projector in the tower. If possible it would be even cooler if it projected some grany messed up (torn, aged, dirty, etcetra blank film rolls onto it. I'm not sure how possible light sources are without the GECK, but it would make this settlement so much more worth
  5. Hey everyone, I had a fairly simple question. Is it okay to have Skyrim on one hard drive, but the Skyrim .INI file on a seperate SSD? Will this cause issues? For more Information: I have my steam install all my games into an E: drive (HDD) and then when generating my .INI file, it puts it in my C: drive (SSD), which I guess I'm okay with, I just want to make sure it will still work fine when installing mods and adjusting values in the INI.
  6. If you are an owner of one, then you probably know why I started this thread, lol Yes its about that abhorrent hunk of metal known as the PowerShift transmission and all its woes. If you are not an owner, surely you've heard. If you haven't just do a google search for 'ford po-' and it will fill out the rest. You will see. I'm a car person. I understand the things better than most mechanics. Why don't I be a mechanic? Because I hate trying to get any of these new fangled failures of rolling tech shows to cooperate with me. The majority of issues experienced today are software issues. And I'm supposed to trust the advent of autonomous vehicles when we still can't get an autonomous standard transmission to act properly. I once knew everything about every car on the road. Seriously. Then I took up aviation. Had to learn a lot of new things and put my library of car knowledge aside. During that hiatus I missed out on DCT transmissions hitting the market. Simply put, they are manual-shift transmissions that operate their clutches and shifting mechanisms on their own. A computer handles the servos and actuators that move the clutch release and shift levers. See... I've never owned (or hardly driven) a car with an automatic transmission... until NOW. The Ford Focus hooked me somehow. I traded in my '02 Sentra SE-R which I loved the heck out of, but she was getting old.. and tired... I reasoned I should just buy a new car. And like a true 'murican moron I bought the Focus... ... I feel like the car gods are punishing me for trying an automatic... List your problems/known issues if you don't have one. Here are just a few of mine: 1) Take off? What's that? Oh when you press the accelerator and go? Nah takes up to 3 seconds, depending on how much you give it. More power means more delay. 2) Stalling. OMG the stalling 3) Inappropriate shift scheduling. Shifting into 6th while trying to ease up a hill behind grandma at <30mph 4) Which also means stalling 5) Loss of 'pull' during 3rd and 4th gears with constant accelerator input. upon reaching 5th gear, tangible acceleration is regained. 6) Driving at 65mph. Release accelerator. RPM falls to... WTF seriously 300RPM?! Also headlamps die due to insufficient alternator RPM. Hit accelerator. 2 whole seconds later, hard jerk, engine brought to redline.
  7. I'm in the process of creating a dual boot with Windows 7 and 10 and am thinking of moving my steam library to an external USB3.1C SSD and running my games off of there, but I was first curious as to what the community's experiences were like. I'm not too concerned about moving my steam library or the speed of my SSD, but I was curious to know whether or not my system might go bonkers if I were to partition my main SSD into two parts, install Windows 7 on one of these partitions while keeping Windows 10 on the other, and play certain games (ie. Skyrim) off of Windows 7 while using Windows 10 for the rest. How would my system respond? Would Windows 10 and 7 interfere with each other were they to be located on the same SSD (albeit separate partitions)? Thanks in advance, any answers are welcome and appreciated. ~Smexy
  8. As can be seen in the screenshot, I get this error message for Bethini.exe which is trying to access a D drive I don´t have even though my mods are installed on the E drive where Fallout new vegas is installed. This mod and the new game + mod for Fallout NV are the only ones causing this error and I can´t do anything in vortex. Does anyone know how to resolve this? EDIT: I have resolved the issue. Vortex created two tools for Bethini and NG+ which were targeting .exe files in the D Drive. I edited the tools, redirected them to the correct .exe files in the E drive and saved the tools. The Error messages have stopped showing now. EDIT 2: Error message are back. The tools keep changing back to the D drive.
  9. When driving in the first person, add a custom video player on the automotive interior (because it is very enjoyable to listen to my own playlist and free roam), and imagine if you can watch the video while driving in the night city. I hope there will be powerful authors to implement this very chill game method.
  10. Edit: Solved myself. Can a mod delete this thread, please? Thanks.
  11. hi, i have steam and vortex installed in my D: drive. for some reason, it says it cant deploy and it just gives me a list of deployment methods which two don't work i guess and the other is experimental? So im kinda stuck trying to figure it out . WHY cant i figure it out? I really want to use this manager, ive watched youtube vids on its installation and it opens up fine and downloads mods okay but i keep getting the deployment error. 12. I have Vortex downloaded on my 1TB HDD, and my games onto my 1TB SSD. However, whenever I download a mod using Vortex, instead of the mod either being downloaded directly into the game files, or being downloaded onto Vortex and then injected upon game launch, Vortex for some reason creates a completely new file (which I am not at all warned or informed about) on my 120GB boot drive, that doesn't contain ANYTHING to do with modding and/or games. So, how do I stop Vortex from doing this? How do I get it do download the mods to the correct location?
  13. So the drive I had Vortex installed to died this morning. I went and got a new drive, but when I went to install Vortex onto it, first it says it can't close Vortex (what? I'm trying to INSTALL IT), then apparently tries to run the uninstaller, which is gone with everything else that was on that drive. (E:\ is the dead drive) Trying to 'uninstall' it from Win10's apps list gives the same error about not being able to find Uninstall Vortex.exe, and the mighty Revo Uninstaller (free version, haven't needed it enough to buy it yet) gives a similar error. What else should I try?
  14. Could use some assistance for a problem I am having. I have been modding for a few years on my old laptop, lots of Skyrim mods and Witcher 3 mods have been alot of fun, however recently I got a new laptop so myself unwilling to part ways with my years of mods, (some potentially deleted now) am trying to port them to the new laptop. However 1st problem, the new Laptop has a more powerful SSD ....with less space and I could only barrow an HDD for storage, a older hard drive. So with the new laptop I was able to mod Fallout 4 on its default C while staying away from the games I used to mod, I accumulated a decent selection of mods for it and have them on vortex now on the default SSD C Drive, however this Christmas I got a advanced HDD with 2 terabytes and wish to mod my old games with that, so the primary inquiry Is it possible to have Vortex mods on both a C Drive and an E Drive at the same time for different games. I have already confirmed you can have mods on the "c" drive to work for games that are on the "e" drive. however I am wondering if I can keep the c drive mods as is and have mods through Vortex on both E drive(for Skyrim and Witcher) and C Drive(Fallout 4) or do all mods through Vortex have to be on the same drive? If you can have an Profile of Vortex in E and C for different games how would you go about doing so? Any insight or assistance in this manner would be helpful and thank you in advance for anyone who could help me with this inquiry.
  15. Hello, I have been having an issue with vortex using space on my C drive even though I have everything for vortex installed on my D drive. The mod downloads and the staging folder are both on the D drive, along with the entire vortex client. I really need to keep all the space I can on my C drive because it has extremely limited space (e.g. right now I have less than 500 MB free, so every MB counts). Right now, I am installing a few mods for blade and sorcery, and I have it all set up to be stored and staged on my D drive, which has a ton more storage, but whenever I download a mod, there is a difference of a few megabytes being lost on my C drive, which matters a lot to me because I have to have room for other updates and such. I was wondering if anyone knew why I am losing this storage like this and where these files are being stored that I don't know of. My C drive space is very important and I have already had to delete several programs in order to simply install basic drivers or other fundamental things. Thank you!
