  1. Skyrim has been running smoothly for the most part since I picked it back up a couple weeks ago. I've added a few mods since then and had a lot of mods already installed. Everything was still pretty good. Today I decided to use TES5Edit to clean up dirty edits crashing my game. I did this because I was experiencing a crash multiple times around Morthal. After I cleaned it up, I decided to go ahead and update Expanded Towns and Cites and then the RS Children Overhaul becasue ETaC has a patch for it so I figured I may need to update. So, now when I start the game up I am presented with the Skyrim logo but no smoke and no options. The RSChildren patch is downloaded but I'm not even sure what that's doing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. Actually, when I uninstalled RSChildren(and patch), the game crashes upon main menu. I've looked through the forums and other places already but none of these solutions have helped. They were often caused by a mod that I don't even have. Any Ideas?
  2. I'm not exactly a pro at modding but I do know that you can merge certain mods together. Like I have Crazylion's replaces for the Blade of woe,the ebony blade, and chillrend and all of Zerofrost's armors (Manly for Legacy's armory.) merging their esps together was fine. I am mainly wondering about files like Expanded Towns and Cities Patches, Audio Overhaul for Skyrim's patches and any compatibility patches in general. That way my esp load shrinks a bit from like 214 to like 198. P.s Rs Children have patches on a separate mod page as well. I merged those and it worked that's why I am curious about these bigger mods. Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks people.
  3. My game just freezes on the main menu and I cannot understand why exactly. I am not even sure if this is a Mod Organizer problem or if the problem is on the actual plugins. I have played Skyrim with 200+ mods before and I know the "basics" of safe modding. Currently whenever I start my game it freezes on the Skyrim logo at the main menu. It does not crash. It freezes. And the freeze is not the "absolute freeze OMG I need to ctrl+alt+del" type. The steam FPS counter keeps running and varying from 30 to 32 FPS, the Steam Overlays pops up correctly and even the new NVIDIA shadowplay/share message pops up and all the ENB messages display as usual. However the menu never appears, console does not work and I have to hit alt+F4. Currently I have 213 plugins on my load order, and some of them are disabled because I let MO manage archives and some have merged .esp alternatives to reduce the load order size, so I am not over the plugin limit. I am using the lastest SKSE, ENB binaries, Mod Organizer (not MO2 Beta, the 1.3.11 from nexus), LOOT, Wrye Bash and TES5Edit. I have installed all mods according to the instructions, cleaned all the dirty plugins LOOT told me to, created a Merged Patch following both Dirty Weasel's PCAPPvideo and Gamer Poets Merged Patch video, created a Bashed Patch also according to the procedures of those videos, reorganized the masters whenever Wrye Bash told that the masters were not in the correct order and my load order is the one suggested by the PCAPP FAQ. A short time ago I have played Enderal with MO and the only issue I had was with SKSE plugins not loading correctly. I managed to find a workaround for it. Then I decided to play modded Skyrim again. My first attemp to mod the game led to crashes after the initial loading screen, I reverted my Skyrim to vanilla, backed up my mods, and unninstalled Skyrim and MO. Downloaded Skyrim again, installed MO, went to the whole process again with an extra layer of caution (because I messed up some compatibility patches on my first attemp) but now the main menu won't even appear. So I don't know if MO is injecting the mods correctly this time. This happens both in "Mod Organizer" and "Script Extender" load mechanisms. Right now I cannot identify what is the problem with my game. No warnings on MO, all mods have their masters enabled, everything is clean and optmized. If I messed up something in the ini files, load order, mod priority or whatever no tool tells me what it is. The only warning is that "General Master Mismatch please check the elusive invisible warnings.txt" because skyrim is drunk or whatever. Deactivating mods one by one to troubleshoot will be higly counter productive because of the huge number of mods and possible and compatibility patches. Patch -ETaC Complete - RS kids.esp at the same time I was using the patch provided by the ETaC installer. Don't be like me, pay more attention to your compatibility patches.
  4. So this is definitely a tall order, but has anyone tried to get this lot working together? From the research I've done it's possible to get patches that work on the modular versions of JK's Skyrim, ETaC, and Dawn of Skyrim, albeit some of them based on older versions of the mods. But the truth is that despite the amazing character these mods provide, individually or separately, I simply cannot let go of Open Cities. I've been using it so long that it's incredibly uncomfortable going back to closed cities. Now I've currently got choices. ETaC and JK's smaller cities and villages currently have patches being worked on. There's a patch for JK's Skyrim with Open Cities, but it's buggy, and the promised update hasn't appeared. There's also an Open Cities patch for an older version of Dawn of Skyrim too. However, now that the JK and Dawn of series' have both been left by their respective authors it seems an ideal time to patch the OC, JK's, and Dawn of together. That would then leave the current author of the ETaC/JK patches to keep up with MissJennaBee's updates. I have some modding experience, but not to this extent.I'm struggling to keep my crossbow mod moving, so if somebody would like to see these patched together and has the capability I'd be very appreciative.
  5. Apparently ETAC and IC are not compatible. Is there any mod that does what ETAC does that is compatible with the new Immersive Citizens?
  6. So basically I've installed ETaC 12.0, which boasts a small player house in Riverwood, which would be perfect for my current low-level Katrina character. Everything else in the mod works fine, besides the fact that the house simply isn't there. I didn't see the skeleton corpse in the nearby mine which is supposed to have the key to the player house either. I made sure I'm running the latest version, the only other Riverwood modifications are textures and SWIM, which I already tried the patch for. Anything obvious (or otherwise) That i'm missing? Thanks in advance. -Trughost EDIT: HA. I'm an idiot. The actual mine is the player house; a bit misleading as it isn't an actual house so much as an underground makeshift home. I found out by looking all the way to the end of the mod author's images. However, I had to force unlock the door via cmd console, as I still couldn't find that 'skeleton corpse' l: EDIT EDIT: Upon further investigation, turns out the player house used to be an actual structure adjacent to the mill... kind of wish it still was, as the new player home is more suited for a bandit or other anti-social type. Will look to see if there is another house mod near Riverwood that won't interfere with ETaC. Hopefully this post will help out anyone who had the same confusion that I experienced.
  7. Hey guys, I'm getting some CTDs in a clean save. The CTDs occurs inside Whiterun. Can someone please take a look on it, say if its missing some patch or if the load order is wrong, anything.   8. I installed ETaC - Complete, Prometeus No Snow Under the Roof and Cutting Room Floor. I use this patch for cutting room floor and no snow under the roof compatibility; it requests (as Wrye Bash suggest) that CRF have to be loaded after NoSUTR. But i use ETaC too that has a patch for cutting room floor.... it patches Stonehills as i see with Mod Organizer. As Wrye Bash suggest this patch (ETaC No Snow Under the Roof Patch.esp) requests No Snow Under the Roof to be loaded after ETaC - Complete. Ok? But there is another patch for Cutting Room Floor and ETaC that ask to load ETaC after CRF So ...summarizing. I have three common patches: No Snow Under The Roof - CRF Patch.esp From here ETaC - Complete NoSnow Patch.esp From ETaC Patches Complete ETaC - Complete CRF Patch.esp From ETaC Patches Complete Those patches creates a cyclic interaction and LOOT can't order it correctly. (you can see it clearly in attached images) Any ideas how to resolve it?
  9. I know there's lots of posts about this, but none of them helped me with their suggestions. This has started to happen only recently after I've installed ETaC with all the patches I needed, but even when I uninstalled it completely, it keeps happening and if it's not CTDing, it's massively lagging and stuttering untill it crashes eventually. I can't even fast travel out of the area without crashing. The reason I went there was only because of a quest (Old Wounds from Arissa the Wandering Rogue), otherwise I rarely visit it. All other areas work fine as far as I know. I've tried the forsworn boots and prisoner clothes fix, loaded an older save before I installed ETaC and tried a new game, same thing happens.   10. Song that pops into my head as I return to the forum once again so soon over and over. Ok so here we are again. I have 3 issues left, two minor, one more big. lets start with the smaller ones. Load order/Plugins: https://modwat.ch/u/Raults/plugins Guide to mod list for easier navigation: So first off we have ETaC people have grey face (for men) and brown face (for women). I need to determine the cause, maybe you guys can have some insight from my mod list. Second, we have vanilla texture homes and doors with non vanilla meshes. Dunno what the cause is. Images of the first and second issues here Third, the big one, I need help thinning my mod list quests even more than I already have. Right now I have too many mods in the quest and location section and although I want to do all the stuff I've added (and more tbh), I am reaching a full 1gb of heap memory in an hour of gameplay on average and it creates tons of issues like slow downs and suuuper slow loadscreens on loadins from previous saves (like 20mins+ of load screen). If you see anything else that is redundant or can be cut then lets do it. I don't want to have to relog every hour just to play skyrim through and through and fear for my life cause loadtimes on death are super long.
  11. Everytime I go through a loading screen to get to the towns' exterior, the loading screen never ends which sometimes just straight up freezes in the loading screen. I've tried a save file where my character is away from the towns changes and everytime I went to the towns, the game freezes. This happened after installing ETaC and it's patches. This problem doesn't occur after uninstalling the mod. I was hoping to find if there was any mod ETaC conflicts with that makes this problem happen.   12. Hi, while in and around Riverwood i ctd every few minutes randomly, sometimes after talking to an npc, sometimes when saving, sometimes when i just walk around. Didn't happen in interiors....yet. I ran them through Cathedral and then fixed their Form Type via CK. All mods which needed cleaning, according to LOOT, were cleaned in xedit. I also checked mods I didn't aquire from Nexus. Distant LOD was first created with high setting, but I changed it to medium setting since then for troubleshooting. I didn't create a merged patch ....yet, since I couldn't be bothered to merge plugins....yet and i have bad experience with creating merged patches when not all plugins are loaded, but since a merged patch can only handle 253 plugins, yeah, that's why i didn't create one...yet. I don't know if that's an issue caused by having more than 253 plugins active or not, but when creating the bashed patch wrye bash doesn't mark plugins as contained in the bashed patch (so you know you can deactivate them), that's why i only deactivated the WACCF leveled list plugins. I used Fallrim tools once on a savegame after the first few crashes to get rid of few detached scripts, but it had no observable effect. Any constructive input on the problem with the ctds or my load order and mod composition in general are welcome. Thanks. My active mods (alphabetically with comments.
