  1. Hello, I'm recently starting on modding my game. I have been doing it for almost 2 weeks now. I first started with no FOSE required mods, but I hit a giant wall between what was possible and what I wanted. Long story short, I ended up with about 80 mods and knowing things I really didn't want like FO3Edit, Wrye Flash, LOOT, etc. I even installed GECK. Anyone would like to help me? I've read FO3Edit doens't have a script compiler, so I would only be editing a text, not the script that I would like to overwrite which the one that does the job. Am I right? I could get rid of one mod, but not only I really love it, but there is no point on removing it if I would still have the conflict from the Player House that, I too, refuse to give it up. If I patch it, I could have it all. I could go on my load list if you ask me, but I really don't think it has something to do with it, because overwriting the data on FO3Edit by a merged patch doesn't fix the situation. Should I really go full on S-RL3? I would like to go back to normal, forget about all modding stuff and really just play the game living in my Lighthouse and only able to repair on the workbenches for immersion.   2. Hi! I'm trying to make a plugin to override some presets using some celebrities faces, but fo3edit wont allow me to paste the full strings into the .esp.   3. Everytime I try to clean my dirty dlc related plugins via Fallout 3 edit, such as "RH_Ironsights_basic_pittplugin" and "Anchorage.esm", Fallout 3 edit fails to load my vortex load order. This result in Fallout 3 edit saying "An error occured while loading modules" and "Backgroud Loader: Fatal: <Exception: Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm requires Fallout3.esm to be loaded before it". Everything in my new modded fallout 3 playthrough is working fine, however I just don't want to get to the DLCs and find that they're broken because of dirty DLC related plugins. Literally have spent 4-5 days on this. Some people say that cleaning dlc related plugins is imperative and others say that their games worked fine with dirty dlc related plugins, so I'm super confused on top of being annoyed.   4. Just curious if anyone has run across this problem? The creation kit adds worldspace on its own, specifically, The Citadel Courtyard or Pennsylvania Avenue. This has been going on for ages and I would normally just go into FO3edit and delete it. But was wondering what causes this and if there is permanent solution? Thanks, ~TS

One thing I've noticed, is that there isn't much in the way of nice, easy to understand, and commented scripts for FO4Edit, which presents quite a big wall to lads who've never touched Pascal before. So what I've decided to do, is go through all of my scripts and add comments to them. So far, I've done four or five, and I'd like ta get the opinions of people who have never touched the stuff before. Some proper opinions 'n' criticism 'n' such. A super small & simple script with comments can be seen 'ere. And a relatively complex one here. Some feedback on stuff that still confuses ya 'n' such would be most welcome.
  6. So, I've used BOSS to manually organize the load order and then checked it with FO3 Edit and no problems popped up there. Also checked it all with LOOT, still no problems. I can fast travel to places i.e. Megaton, but as soon as I try to enter a building or even Megaton from the wasteland, it crashes the game to windows. The game is stable enough and I've not experienced any problems just kicking about the wasteland, but as soon as I click on a door.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can obviously post my load order if that helps, I've got 93 plug ins on the go right now.
  7. Hi everyone. I hope this is the correct place to post this. It looked to me that the stickied threads are more about general problems, so I figured a separate topic for my personal case would be in order. This might be a longshot since Fallout 3 is on the wayside these days, but I wanted to replay this great game to get my Fallout fix before 4 (especially maturely modded 4) comes out. So I booted up Fallout 3, got Mod Organizer out, went to the Nexus forums, and proceeded to beef up the vanilla game. I would greatly appreciate anyone’s help if possible. I understand it’s a rather selfish request and might be a pain to some, but it would really bring some closure to the last couple of days that otherwise feel like wasted effort on my part. I have seen and heard of load orders that have gotten 100-200 mods working fine with minimal problems, so I’m hoping I can join these hallowed ranks with my own load order. That said, if anyone here believes that a few of the mods below are the primary cause of my crashes, I won’t feel bad about removing them. Understandably, I’d like as many of them to work in tandem as possible, but sometimes that’s just unrealistic. Anyways, working with the basic FWE + CALIBR + MMM + Project Beauty + EVE setup (including Archive Invalidation and the 4gig usage fix), I’ve had little to no problems with mods. It was when I started piling on additional mods that I started having issues. Namely CTDs and graphical issues (NPCs turning purple/missing heads, armor taking the texture of terrain, bridges going invisible). It’s been really frustrating for a couple of days now trying to figure out the correct load order and which mods are responsible for the crashing. Whenever I make a merged patch that covers additional mods, I CTD as well] I’ve painstakingly eliminated the majority of errors using FO3edit’s resources (Undelete & Disable References, Remove Identical to Masters) and made sure the merged patch was error free as well. The current load order I have is based upon the recommendations (when available) from each mod’s download page. I run a Lenovo Y510P with Windows 8 & 16gigs of RAM (I have the 4gig RAM usage enabled), a x64 based processor, an Intel core i7, and dual Nvidia 310M cards (SLI activated whenever I play). I haven’t had any FPS issues (maxed at 60fps) and the game runs superbly when unmodded or slightly modded. The windowed mode fix hasn’t done anything with regard to my game, and with Windows 8 anyways, I figured that performance issues aren’t the problem.   8. I've tried everything. Spent hours trying to fix this problem and I'm about to give up.. The game crashes after the loading screen that occurs when you sleep in the bed in the alternate beginning. The game appears to run normally without FWE installed.   9. So I decided to have another go at FO3 while modding this to my liking. I recently had modded FNV heavily (over 100 mods) without any problems playing and so I am very knowledgeable in the area of modding although would not consider myself an expert by any means. I am CTD at least 2-3 times an hour and is really frustrating because I had spent the last 3 days trying to make this game as smoothly playable as possible. After following all of the instructions from the Ultimate Setup Guide ( Benwah ) to online videos from multiple authors on installing each mod correctly as well as following the modders instructions on the Nexus sight, I continue to crash randomly with no real hint at what is causing this. All I can think of is something I have overlooked in my load order???   10. I just made a merged patch and I don't understand why some things were excluded from the patch. Take a look: It is my understanding that the last plugin to load needs to have every other change in the record in order to not have conflicts. This picture contradicts this. Take a look at the first Leveled List Entry. The Merged Patch has it coloured yellow, which means it will overwrite without conflict. But how so? If it's blank for the merged patch, wouldn't that mean that it's deleting what WMK has put in? Why wouldn't the merged patch include that entry in the first place? Is it because it assumes that the ITM is unwanted because FWE deleted that entry (even though it's before WMK in the load order.) The same applies for the third entry. The fourth entry is confusing. It has the same exact values as the entry above except for the Level value. It seems that this is an entry for how much ammo this weapon will have. WMK had it at 16, but the FWE patch for WMK tones down the value to 8 for balancing purposes, correct? If so, why are the two entries considered different in FO3Edit? This also doesn't make sense because the previous entries we talked about have that blank spot for the merged patch and the colour is yellow, but the colour for this entry is red. What's going on here?
  11. Hey guys think my question here, in sum (=tldr), is "How do I get FO3Edit to fetch the esp's where Mod Organizer stores them?". Short intro... Years ago I played FO3 and FO3NV unmodded. With the coming of FO4 I returned to my journeys in the Wastelands. This time modded. So I have only been modding my games in the most of a week (not newb in computing thou). I have been watching approx. 90 % of Gopher, Xuul and Weasels tutorials. And got the mods to work without big crashes. But.... the FO3Edit only get the master files (esm) from the DLCs when running the FO3editor. I have spend two whole evenings trying to fix this (have also read the fully FO3Edit Training Manual). No fix yet. Back to Q: I have installed FO3 GOTY from Steam in a folder on D-drive. FO3Edit is installed as shown in the tutorials. I have noticed in the FO3Edit logtxt (and elsewhere) that the editor "still" go to C-drive for the plugins (esps). I can't find a way to change this in the FO3editor it self (or I may have missed it). I have read about editing the H_key localmachine and other stuff but found no fix at all. Having a lot of trouble with my load order in Fallout 3, I ran LOOT, and have no ITM issues left, and then ran Wrye FLash, and nearly a third of the plugins have an orange checkbox, but I have no idea where to move them. Here's my current load order, if anyone can help me out. As it is, I keep crashing on the title screen.

Alright now, my problem is that I have installed a few mods, maybe 50 or so I didn't count. I did all of this using DansGaming's video tutorial series. I followed all of them to the letter. Iv used FO3Edit in the past with no problems but this time around im having problems. the problem is that when i run the application it should list all the mods and DLCs in the "Master/Plugins Selection" i have 62 mods according to NMM but FO3Edit dosent detect any of them apart from Fallout3.esm Fallout3.exe Anchorage.esm ThePitt.esm BrokenSteel.esm PointLookout.esm Zeta.esm DarNifiedUIF3.esp it dosent detect mart mutant mod, or FOWE same goes when i run the Fallout 3 Launcher and select "data" where it should list all mods there are none there please help me out thanx.

  18. So when i launch fo3 edit it defaults CALIBR.esm above everything else. It's above fallout3.esm. On FOMM it's below, and i cannot change the load order when fo3 first launches. This is the only problem i can see, and i simply dont know why fo3 has decided calibr is so important, and i dont know how to change it.

  20. This is a fairly simple question. I have Fallout 3 heavily modded, so of course, I made a merged patch with FO3Edit. As per suggestions from various tutorials, I spent a rather long period of time playing with the overrides and whatnot within each category, removed red coloring whenever possible. Now, I have several new mods I want to install and thus, will need a new merged patch. Is there a simple way to migrate all my modifications and settings to this new merged patch so I don't have to do it all again? I did notice the "Copy as override into" option, but I was a bit nervous without knowing exactly what it would do and I figured it was a good idea to ask before leaping. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've recently re-installed Fallout 3 onto my PC running Windows 7 64x. I know for a fact my computer can run the game well. I was having trouble creating a Merged Patch, as I've seen suggested around the web and all around the Nexus and was running into problems. I wished to add the 5 DLCs as master files to my mod so I have checked their 5 checkboxes in GECK, but now, when I load my ESP in GECK it gets errors like: “MODELS: Debris scale value of zero loaded. Please set to non-zero value in editor”, needing to push the “yes to all” button each time I load the mod. So I have questions: 1) Is there a way to load all 5 DLC without such warnings? Although I wish to have the option to revert to a non-dlc version of my mod, the only way I figured it out was to load it in FO3Edit and use “Clean Masters” from the pop up menu over the ESP (previously removed all DLC content from my mod). Now the ESP doesn’t ask for DLC content anymore and all seems to be OK. 2) Is that the way to revert the multiple master loads? 3) Can GECK do it better? 4) Is it safe to revert a mod by this way?
  23. Hello, I am in the process of making a very large mod for Fallout 3, the mod is called US Army in the wasteland. I am in the final process of my mod. I have come across many problems since it is a very large mod but most of those problems have been fixed. A new problem has popped up. I mixed the two together and the final result is a helmet with a chin strap and a protective shield infront of it for my US Flamer Unit. Everything like the helmet and the chin strap is fine but the shield in front is in a odd location. It is in the middle of the NPC's head.
