  1. I found an old enemy of mine today. I thought I had left the little stinker back in oldrim. When you start a game and this sucker kills you as you leave your house, it's bad. When you choose another alternate start and he nails you heading into Riverwood, it's far worse. I refer to the Inheritance Courier Glitch. What happens is this one courier, and it's ALWAYS that cap-wearing piece of slime, ambushes you with a letter, but instead of the letter, you get a frozen, broken game. My mod request is simple. DISABLE THE INHERITANCE!!! ...sorry.... I was gone. I'm back now. Really, guys, people have been biatching about this stupid bug for years. And bugfixing is a perfectly suitable mod/patch/overhaul request. Just ask the guys at USSEP. ... ...no, really, ask them. This menace to gaming has to go!

I find it rather annoying when I start a new game (ran LOOT, ran Wrye Bash, and I did clean with SSEedit) and, just as I step out of the house Alternate Start got me, get ambushed by that which cannot be survived, the freaking Inheritence Bug! Let me be blunt; As I was JUST STARTING, there was no way in hell I should have had that happen. This is a bug that made oldrim MISERABLE, and I seriously want it gone. My suggestion for a bugfix or a mod, DISABLE INHERITENCE. Seriously.
  3. I've posted this on the Steam thread as well, but that seems to be dead, so I'll place it here as well. [c] ...my game is insisting I only have version 4.1 of SkyUI installed. I've tried deleting, reinstalling and everything you can think of. LOOT says there are no errors, but the game, which starts normally, says the version installed is 4.1 instead of 5.0 . How is this happening, why can't I get the correct files? I've deleted all the SkyUI files from my Data folder as well. Where am I going wrong?

For a basic idea of my original problem, you might be able to learn something from this post that I made, however the information in that post is likely not relevant to this post, because I have since started a new game. A few months ago, I had started up a new game of Skyrim after being away from it for a while, figured I might as well try a new game because, in my time away from the game, I had thought of a few other mods to install next time I played. These included new races (the Fennec and Lykaios races), as well as some smaller mods like Better Claws and Gauntlets and Convenient Carriages. Long story short, I installed all of those, and uninstalled a handful of mods (Verdant, Osmodius texture replacer) and next thing I know, my game crashes every time I try to enter Breezehome. I first noticed the problem because it was the first time I had bought Breezehome on that playthrough. I was playing as a Fennec character, so I guessed that might have had something to do with it. Changed race, no dice. Tried uninstalling each and every new mod one by one, no dice. Tried reinstalling both Osmodius and Verdant, no dice. Checked through Steam to make sure all files were intact, no dice. Even did a bit of manual searching through files and updating my load order using LOOT, no dice. In the post linked above, gromulos had mentioned using Wrye Bash to make a patch and all of that jazz; I read through the instructions in both the guide he provided a link to AND Wrye Bash, and immediately found that, since Skyrim SE is installed in my Program Files folder, Wrye Bash would probably be useless to me. My main reason for simply giving up on that idea wasn't so much being lazy, but because there was a time (months ago) that I played Skyrim SE with almost exactly the same mods I play with today, and never had any sort of issues, short of something caused by load order. If this CTD is being caused by a mod conflict, I'm pretty sure I would have figured it out by now. The only mod I use that edits Breezehome was one that I installed before starting a new game, so this time around my game should be running with everything in place. I really don't understand why I'm having such a problem with this. Every other issue I've ever had with this kind of thing usually simply came from a mod that wasn't updated, or wasn't in the proper position in my load order. I've checked everything I possibly can, done as much research as possible without spending hours in front of my computer, and tested about every idea myself and my Skyrim-loving friends have proposed, and nothing has worked. I am not sure if a similar crash happens in any of the other player homes (I haven't had the time to make it that far into the game yet), but since Breezehome is the one I prefer to stay in, this is a pretty severe issue for me. For the most part, I can get along fine without a home, but it's a huge pain in the butt to haul all of my junk around or shove it into the inventories of my companions. My present load order will be posted in a comment below. And as an FYI, I have not uninstalled, installed, or reinstalled any mods since starting this new playthrough. I uninstalled both race mods (Fennec and Lykaios) because I figured they might be a possible source of the problem before starting this new game, so there shouldn't be any problems with that kind of stuff now. I am playing as a Khajiit, and every other facet of the game functions perfectly fine. Hopefully I can get some help this time, because I don't think Wrye Bash will be of much aid to me.
  5. I've come across a particularly irritating bug while developing one of my mods, and would be very thankful if someone who may have experienced something similar knows why it is happening. I have a fairly large custom worldspace that is also the parent worldspace of a couple of smaller worldspaces. To put a long story short, there are a lot of interiors that can be entered and thus share the same LOD map. Everything is fine if I go into an interior and open the world map- it opens and works as desired. However, if I make a save in that interior, quit the game, then restart Skyrim and load the save, the world map will not open. The game will simply CTD without warning. I cannot understand why this may be happening, as I am working on two worldspace mods simultaneously and the other does not have this problem. It seems to me that the game does not remember which worldspace you entered the interior from if you quit and reload, thus causing a crash when it cannot figure out which LOD map to load. Any suggestion entirely welcome, I can try and explain better or upload a video if anyone thinks it will help them understand. Thank you! Edit: not sure if it has something to do with my land LOD, when I generate it in oscape the "target of max. resolution" is '256000 (1/2 of 666 per tile)' instead of '256000 (1/1 of 1000 per tile)'. Could this strange generation type be what's causing the issue?
  6. So my brother has been playing the DLC since he finished the main quest line. We bought the legendary edition so we have all the DLC's. But my brother encounters a problem on the first "part" of the Dragonborn quest line. In the temple of Miraak, when he reads one of the Black Books and is teleported to the Apocrypha, Miraak stands still near the stairs, so he can't continue with the quest. We tried deleting most of the mods we were using. Right now we have a bunch of Dovahkiin weapons from Steam, such as the Volaan, the Mjölnir (Thor's Hammer), CBBE modifications, sporty sexy sweat, and combat trained body or something like that. I also use one of Sharpshooter's shaders for the ENB series and as far as I know, nothing else. I also tried installing the unnoficial Dragonborn patch, but it was useless, as well as downloading BOSS to see the correct order in which I had to place the mods in the launcher. BOSS also told me something about dirty editions(?), I am Spanish so the traslation might not be 100% correct. Please help me :blush:. P.D.: I will provide the BOSS log if needed as well as a screenshot of the bug.
  7. As I mentioned in the Mods Troubleshooting, I accidentally hit the clothing tab in chargen. (That's character generation, kids) Look, I don't know if the generation/prologue is just that buggy or if it's a fundamental flaw in Looksmenu but this has happened for literal *years*. I literally erased every damn thing and started afresh a week ago and this is still happening? Really? Like I said, I don't know which board applies so I'm posting in both. Ah, yes, the apology as well. Trying to deal with something else, I inadvertently double-posted a topic in Mods Troubleshooting. I truly apologize.
  8. So, I was able to trap Odahviing and interrogate him into telling me about Alduin's location in Skuldafn. The typical drumroll and the notification telling me i finished "The Fallen" appears, but I wasn't given "The World Eater's Eyrie", causing me to be unable to free Odahviing and travel to Skuldafn to finish the main quest. I have tried reloading from past saves, (using commands to get to actually set the trap, Balgruuf won't even talk to me to do so, unable for me to start "Season Unending" which is also due to me not being able to finish the Civil War quests due to ANOTHER glitch with Legate Cipius, *hnnn*)and also attempting to use commands, both "startquest MQ303" and "setstage MQ303 10", both only giving me multiple lines of "GetInFaction >> 0.00" and nothing else. My progress with the main quest is now halted due to this, causing me to be unable to go any further. As a completionist, I am very disappointed in this, as you can imagine. Another bug in this lovely save/character I have, is that instead of the typical Whiterun guard or Legionnaires or whatever, (I am on the Imperial side on this save, and I'm also unable to activate "Battle for Whiterun") there are Stormcloaks in the great porch as I use commands to set the trap for Odahviing, which is highly confusing as I don't have CWO installed and never did. I have all three DLC (Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn), as well as all of the Unofficial Patches for them and Skyrim. I will be highly disappointed if I have to restart from the beginning, but I am expecting this, as this save is screwing up for both the Civil War quests and the Main Quests. If anyone can help me with this, I will be extremely grateful.
