  1. So, I installed FO3 in a new PC, and tried to activate the DLC, but it reacts as if they don't exist. I checked the game\data directory and saw that I have all the needed .esm files. I checked with Steam 'integrity of game files' and still nothing. Any tips?
  2. So what are the basic operations, today, to set up fallout 3 ? I ask because i do not want to pick obsolete or outdated patches / methods. I have already installed fallout script extender, and installed the unofficial patch can you recommend me a reliable mod manager? Can be Mod Organizer used safely with fallout 3? sorry for broken english.
  3. Mmk so I've gone through literally about 25 threads on this forum and others trying to diagnose what exactly is going on with my copy of FO3: GOTY. I'll start by saying, launching the game through the launcher or with fallout3.exe loads the game perfectly fine and I can play no problem for as long as I want. The only issue comes with starting the game with fose_loader.exe - it goes to black screen to load, doesn't even make it to the loading screen and says Fallout3 has stopped responding. I followed instructions on installing FOSE properly and I have no mods currently running other than the Unofficial Patch. Any ideas here guys? I appreciate any help.
  4. I have been really patient with Fallout 3 over the past several years, but I feel no matter how many fixes I try to apply the game will continue to crash no matter what I try. The recent string of crashes that have been happening out in the wasteland where I usually am exploring, random intervals occuring between 10min and 1 hour. I have modified the ini, used the Large Address Aware, gotten the Intel Bypass package, set up windows basic, kept the program to run on Windows xp service pack 2 and the game will still keep crashing. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do that may stop these crashes occuring, unless there is something I'm just missing . . .   5. A few months ago, I was able to play FO3 perfectly fine, with mods without constant crashing, or stuttering. I did have FPS drops near Germantown, and a few other places, but whatever, that was light weight. But 4 months later, I can't play the game stable, with mods. After trying time and time again, installing stability mod, patch after patch, worthless 3GB enabling (I have 64bit), I reinstalled it, and uninstalled every mod I had. I'd like to add that I am well aware of the Steam guides to set the game up with/without mods, and I can tell you it's not working. I have a post on the 242nd page. My name is Straw. I'm fearful that the second I play with FOSE, It'll start crashing. So I have a few questions. - Does FOSE cause crashing? - As a 64 bit user, do I need 64 bit Fallout 3? - I want to install MMM, FWE, and I know their load order. What about the random mods, like 2perkperlevel, or Sydney, Bittercup, and Lucy West stuff? Where would those go? - BOSS isn't in an application for me, instead, it uses Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, whatever it is, to use BOSS. this is REALLY confusing. Where did I go wrong? - LOOT doesn't work for FO3, as there are just... terrible esp/esm managing with it for FO3. What do I do? Should I just slog through BOSS? - Gopher's Videos don't have the fixes I need entirely, due to them being outdated. Any suggestions? - Do I NEED to use FO3edit? I never used it before. If any of these questions seem ignorant, or just annoying, I'm sorry. I've been trying since the 31st to just play with mods. Educate me, my friend. As of right now, 2/5/2018, 5:00 PM central time (lol) I'm re-watching the gopher videos on FO3, and NV, since I'm trying to play every 3D game in order. Any, and all help is very appreciated!

Thankfully we now have a perfectly legal NON-steam version of Fallout 4 available now on GOG.COM which includes all the dlc's obviously, yet sadly that version does not include CC Content like 'Slocum Joes' cc content etc.. however, if somebody actually purchased those CC content while using a Steam version of FO4 it wouldn't be unethical to expect that there should be some way for you to install your "ALREADY PAYED FOR" cc content into the NON steam version of FO4 .. has anyone found out much about this?
  7. Hey everyone. Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition is on sale now at GOG for $8.99! (Steam currently wants $14.99) GotY includes the Bloodmoon andTribunal expansions, plus you'll get a free copy of Arena & Daggerfall! WOOT! The other Official DLC are free, and can be downloaded from Bethesda via UESP. I downloaded the whole Elder Scrolls series from GOG a few months ago & it's been great! I know if you're reading this, you probably already have a copy of Morrowind. I did too, but there's a few good reasons to pick up the GOG version instead. No DRM: For those who don't know, GOG sells LEGITIMATE games with no DRM. You can simply download, install, play, and uninstall all without the stupid disks.No going through a 3rd party interface. Unlike with Steam, GOG's version doesn't require you run it through Steam's application. Not going through Steam avoids numerous problems with Morrowind/Mods caused by it being installed to Program Files, which is where Steam installs to by default. (For those who don't know, moddable games should not be installed to Program Files or Program Files (x86) due to Windows UAC interference.) Just install the GOG version to someplace like C:\Games & you're golden!GOG does have an interface called "Galaxy" that you can use that is similar to Steam's, but it is entirely optional. I haven't tried it myself, but like that I'm not not FORCED to use it, unlike Steam, and I hear it has some useful features, like easy update installation, library management, etc. Also, if interested GOG has the following on sale too: Oblivion: Game of the Year Deluxe edition for $11.99. This is the version that contains ALL of the official DLC, so if you are/were confused by Steam/Bethesda's various versions - this is the one to get. Redguard for $2.99 (Includes Arena & Daggerfall) Battlespire for $2.99 (Includes Arena & Daggerfall) Morrowind GotY, Redguard, Battlespire, Daggerfall, & Arena can all be purchased at a discounted price of $14.97.   8. Hey, So i am in the process of modding fallout 3 GOTY's visuals for a new playthru but after installing and applying all my mods the game won't launch using the in app launcher in vortex. I have no problems with fallout 4 and ESO but can't seem to get fallout 3 working. If anyone has any solutions please let me know. Thanks
  9. Hello, my name is Votsisjr and i have an issue with Vortex when attempting to use the BSA archive invalidation workaround. As mentioned in the title this is specificly for Fallout 3. I enabled it in the settings and it shows up as installed but whenever i try to install any mod that requires it the vortex manager gives me an error saying that Archive Invalidation is not enabled. The "mod" is in the mod list and is enabled. So i looked some deeper into the web and found out that it had to do something with loading "loose" files i have tried installing mods with both the fallout 3 launcher option enbladed and disables and it yielded no diffrent result in my attempt to get succesfull archive invalidation. I use the latest version of FOSE aswell. My game has an .ini file I have not manually changed anything. I have the GOTY edition and thus have all the DLC's Please help me out resolve my issue so i can have a good time in fallout 3 (not new vegas just litterly 3) I am uncertain when Vortex was released and its currently stil in beta state but it looks really neat and much more proffessional then NMM in my opinion. I wish u succes in finishing the product and look forward to the end result:)
  10. Hello everyone! First of, thanks to all who take the time to come here and give technical support to people, I found lots and lots of very useful information on those forums. I decided to post a new topic, as I'm pretty tired of trying to get Oblivion to work, and keeping on getting crashes. I started installing the game (and the mods!) in April, learned a lot since, and now, I'd like to play. Basically, I cannot find why it keeps crashing. Here's a bit of history: when I first installed, I installed Better Cities (I don't see myself playing without it now), Unique Landscapes, and other things. Game was pretty stable in Leyawiin, but when I tried to start in Anvil (alternate start by Robert Evrae), the game was just randomly crashing, every few minutes. I read and read the forums, the read-mes, etc., learned lots and lots of things, reinstalled several times, until I got something pretty stable a couple of weeks ago (using Wrye Bash, OBMM, BOSS, and TES4Edit). The game worked fine in the Imperial City, worked fine in the outside world, until I reached Bravil. At first, it was crashing randomly, after maybe 10-15 minutes, almost always when opening a door (loading screen). I started the Better Cities quest "Strange bedfellows", and all hell broke loose! Game was then crashing every 10-15 seconds (yes, seconds). Needless to say its impossible to play like this. I tried to finish the quest, and get the boat to leave. Didn't work. I reloaded old saves, before I started the quest. No luck. I reloaded old saves from before I arrived in Bravil. It worked as long as I'm out of the city, but crashes immediately upon entering. (Played just a few minutes outside the city, no more than ten, but crashes immediately when I try crossing the bridge into Bravil) I decided to make a clean install, no luck. Then, I got the new version of Better Cities. So I reinstalled EVERYTHING, trying to make a clean install (with patches, cleaning with TES4Edit, BOSS, Bashed patch, Archive invalidation, etc.). After this, my hopes were very high, as I thought the new Better Cities version (and the new UOP) would solve all my problems... I couldn't have been more wrong... After the Bethesda logo, all I'd get was a Windows sound, and a CTD. I reinstalled everything again. Testing the game after every few mods (following an installation order found online). Everything went fine, until I installed Unique Landscapes and Unique Landscapes compilation patches. Then, crash after the Bethesda logo. My guess was that the new Better Cities version was not compatible with UL. So I uninstalled it, sadly (but if I have to choose, I'll take BC over UL, though I'd love to have both). Anyway, the game started, I was "happy", until I got jailed after a couple of minutes (trying to see if everything loads properly, etc.). When I tried lockpicking the door, the game crashed instantly on my first left-click. I restarted, turns out I get that CTD every single time I try lock picking a door. I don't know what to do anymore. My mods are not crazy, they seem to run well on other people's computer, together, but I just can't play! Been trying for more than two months now! A few more information: I play the Steal GOTY Edition. My computer is an Asus G74 with an i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 560m with 3GB of VRAM. So the game should be just fine. My main mods (ill post my -temporary - load order tomorrow from the computer): I also have a few OBSE plugins: All those mods have been installed with the patches appropriate for the other mods, to avoid conflict, according to the read mes, and info found online. All have been sorted with BOSS, cleaned with TES4Edit, and bashed patched with Wrye Bash. If anyone can help me, I'll be more than grateful. At this point, I just want to enjoy my game (with mods if possible, especially after all this time spent, I don't really wanna go back to vanilla...) Sorry for the (super) long post, and thanks a lot to everyone who will take a few minutes to read it. :)
  11. every time i try play the game, within 10mins i get a ctd. here what ive done to resolve the issue with no luck: increased max ram to greater than 2gb with CFF suite limited how many core's i use to max of 2 downloaded the d3d9.dll and placed in the main folder where the .exe is play in fake fullscreen windowed mode i created a Merged patch heres my load order exported from NMM, according to FOEdit theres no conflicts. For some reason FOSE is not running together with my Fallout 3 GOTY that i purchased on steam, what i mean by this is the mods i have downloaded and activated through NMM are on the internet shortcut that steam provides on my desktop, now the mods appear there but obviously the error comes up that they need FOSE to run. Now when i load FOSE that is located in the Fallout 3 goty folder with the fallout3.exe and falloutlauncher.exe the mods do not appear to be there. I'm not quite sure whats the problem here :/
  13. Hi everyone, I am very new to modding games, and I tried to run some mods on Fallout 3 GOTY using the FOMM. Once I finished, I started the game via launch FOSE on the FOMM menu, and the game immediately crashes, no title screen or anything. I have honestly no idea where to start troubleshooting with this. I think the problem maybe in either FOSE, the load order, or maybe incompatible mods. I also do not use NMM, and thinking I maybe should. And I did use Archive Invalidation Invalidated, and as a byproduct, removed F3 from the Steam/Program Files folders. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks! EDIT: I should add that the mods I plan to try to use are: FOMM FOSE Wanderer's Edition Mart's Mutants Weapon Mod Kits Enhanced Weather EVE and EWE NMC's Texture Pack RH_Ironsights and DCInteriors Are any of these mods incompatible with each other?
  14. hello, i'm having a problem with my Fallout 3. After few years of not playing Fallout 3, i installed the GOTY version.i also installed some mods (FWE, FOOK2, MMM, CALIBRE, WMK, CRAFT, and other small mods)i played for a few hours UNTIL i realised that my DLC is not activatedwell, i activated it at FOMM, but there's no notification/quest/radio that's related to start the DLCi tried to deactivate all the mods and start the game again, i received the notification/quest/radio for the DLCs. i saved the game, and activated the mods. BUT, when i went to the ferry dock to meet Tobar the Ferryman to go to Point Lookout, the ferry is not there can somebody help me?
  15. Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. I am having a very annoying problem concerning the game of the year edition of Morrowind. Whenever an enemy detects me or dies, the game freezes for about 3-5 seconds. I do not have any mods installed and reinstalling the game doesn't seem to help in any way. I've had this problem for quite some time and I've tried to search for a solution, but haven't found any. My system specs are as follows: Windows 7 64-bit 8Gb RAM Intel i5 3,0 Ghz AMD Radeon 7950 Any help would be appreciated. PS. I am having the exact same problem with the game of the year edition of Oblivion.
  16. I have finally got my install finished using the Steam version of Oblivion. I am using a moderate number of mods, primarily QTP3, Better Cities, All Natural, Darnified UI, RAVWD, and several other texture mods. I have spent about 3 hours on a new game traveling / fast traveling around the world, including between IC Waterfront and Anvil without any CTDs. I have had issues while getting this build set up with saves that CTDS while fast traveling in those areas, but my latest effort seems to be stable. From reading various forums, I worry that this stability will not last, especially with Better Cities, QTP, and RAVWD. I do own the DVD GOTY version of the game as well and I have read that with mods, the disc version of the game is more stable than the Steam version over the long run. So my question is whether I should stick with the initially stable Steam version, or if I should start anew with the GOTY version and reapply all of my mods? As I understand it, I can take the .esm files for the DLC from the Steam version, along with the Steam Oblivion .esm, and add them to the GOTY version so I have the complete version of the game. Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated. I would like to keep the game stable, so if I have to spend some more set-up time now it would be totally worth it over time. But if the Steam version is just as stable, I would rather spend my time playing the game. (getting all of the mods running stable has been a game in-and-of itself!) Thanks in advance!
  17. I just bought a new computer and I Installed oblivion GotY it worked perfectly. But once I added my standard mods it crashes. I never had this problem on my windows 7. I always install to C:\Games I have tried to delete the data folder files editing them so forth so on. If anyone has a tutorial or advise that will help it would be great. Thanks
  18. Hey, so I've been modding TW3 Goty a bit lately and have run into some issues with the Dlc's working properly. I've read a few threads about either empty folders being in the DLC Directory of TW3 that could cause this issue which isn't the case. Another solution was checking the dlc folders added by mods if they are correctly placed. Like TW3 > DLC > "DLCMOD" instead of something like TW3 > DLC > DLC > "DLCMOD". So these solutions didn't do a lot for me. I've got DLC Options in the game's settings menu like the alternative look for yennefer and the options that got added by the mods I installed. I also got the options to start only B&W or only HoS, but if I try and select one of those nothing happens. I can't start the DLC variants of the Games. Going into the Game there is also content from DLC's missing. Some DLC Quests are there but for example I've got only the vanilla 10 General Skills. Script Merger has merged all files automatically and all the mods are working. Just the DLC's are missing.   19. I bought and downloaded/installed the game today. The launcher screen came up and it determined that I should be playing on ultra graphics. I say this just to make it known that this isn't a compatibility issue with my computers specs as it can play about anything. I click "Play" and it closes the launcher screen and then does absolutely nothing. It wont load the game and because of this I can't continue the UUP because it says that I have to start the game for certain files to appear. I even tried switching to the lowest graphics just for the hell of it and still nothing. Any ideas?
