[APPARENTLY SOLVED. STILL UP JUST IN CASE of another surprise bug. BETHESDA SOFTWORKS like enjoys us not with random bugs thahs why. Apparently creating at least 1GB for the pagefile and or removing some >100mb non-weapon/armor mods (Some buggy Sim Settlements addons in my case) solved it for me. My God Bethesda.] This has gotten to be worse since last week. I have a problem that is infuriating as the game freezes after selecting guns after 3-5 weapon swaps, no crash just freeze until manual shutdown. sometimes weapon selected is invisible then 7 seconds later freeze. I don't think the mods are the problem IMO. I've been playing this game since March 2017 no problems with mods. If there will be I can fix their root cause. Not even hardware either I don't think a freeze is caused by a dying GPU/RAM (I still did not rule this out, the universe likes to surprise me with always new problems). UPDATE: No GPU artifacts with Cities Skylines after 1 hour of play. Even in that case all it does is graphical artifacts (in-game or not) and game still loads as usual or god forbid crash. But not this one. It's a mystery. Could be slow hard drive or have too much mods (all archived except DEF_UI and script folder for F4SE tho) that eats up VRAM. Also BTW it slows down my system after task manager kill process until manual restart. UPDATE: Confirmed a handful of my gun mods literally freeze when selected. The MSR, the Laser Carbine and the Misriah one. IDK how on earth caused it. The rest are very fine. As i repeat all were fine like 1-2 weeks ago. Load order below if anything for torubleshooting. After the freeze though the exe takes time to disappear from my task manager, just in case it says anything. My rig and load order just in case (FYI game is from 2015): Core i5 4440 GTX 750 ti stormx oc 8gb ddr3 1600mhz 500gb samsung hdd (where I put fallout 4) 80gb seagate hdd (primary drive) Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H rev 1.1 motherboard Philips 193V 18.5" LCD monitor 720p NOTES: -Medium settings (because Bugthesda, in my monitor native res MGSV is straight up ultra 75 fps constant), inumhwthreads at 4, 720p resolution That game has better visuals than this one. Yes3x FO4 has very detailed areas so is GTA V (Str8 up high settings on that one). -Complex Retexture mod replacing vanilla ba2 texture files so VRAM is less of issue IMO. -F4SE, Dynamic Performance Tuner and ENBOOST active. -Except mentions above, some mods that are default loose files are archived to BA2 because loading. -Problem not caused by enboost or other dlls. Tested without them or with. still freeze. -No texture artifacts or weird GPU problem sh*t. No problems watching Riverdale at 4K or even playing otehr games. -Hypothesis says either my more than 7 yr old HDDs or too many mods (IDK, just guns and CBBE armor, also no overhaul sh*t) tearing the game apart. Hey guys, i have a problem with NMM: I will explain my problem with an example: My hard drive has 100GB free space left. I install a mod which requires 200MB space. I play the game and don't like the mod. Now I uninstall the mod with NMM (btw I've downloaded the mod also via the NMM from the Nexus site) and the mod is gone...like it should be. The problem is, when I look into the explorer of Windows, the hard drive has still 99,8GB free space, so the 200MB don't come back after uninstalling the mod. And that is a big problem, because i have ~50 mods until now and there will be more in the future. So there is memory consumption for nothing... Can anyone help me with this problem?

I'm transitioning from console to PC, so I'm a bit green when it comes to modding and and im sure ill be erasing loads of mods till i find the right combination for my playstyle. Since i can damage my ssd if i erase files i was thinking of finding the right combination on HDD then transfering over to SSD when im done. Is there any easy way to do this, or is it even possible at all since ill be buying the game on steam? Also, is it worth it? Skyrim was horribly slow on the ps3 but will it still be this bad on a new pc? My rig in short, will post in more detail if need be: Cpu: i7 6700k Ram: g.skill trident z 16gb (2x8gb) ddr4 3200mhz Graphic card: Asus r9 390 8gb strix OC Motherboard: Asrock z170 pro 4 As i said, im new to the PC and also to forums! So if im doing anything wrong, please correct me. Many Thanks, in advance:)

Hello I recently moved Skyrim to my SSD as I heard it helps with loading times. However, when trying to open NMM, it cannot locate skyrim.esm and fails to open. NMM is installed on my HDD, which is what is causing the problem. Is there a way to keep Skyrim on the SSD and mod it with NMM or will I have to either mod things manually (and keep on the SSD), or move it back onto the HDD (and be able to use NMM) In short, does NMM have to be on the same drive as the game you are trying to mod? Thanks

Dear All, I have recently decided to play the Dragonborn expansion, which I downloaded a few months back and never got around to playing. Important: At the time I stopped playing, I was quite happily running the game on high settings, with a very nice, flawlessly consistent frame rate which only dropped in heavy, heavy battle sequences. But now, when I have returned to play the game, I am experiencing crippling lag, regardless of what settings I choose - the framerate remains low and mouse movement delayed severely irrespective of graphical settings chosen at launch or in-game. About two weeks ago, after reading up on the subject a bit, I re-installed the game and to my delight, everything was as it was - framerates restored and no whiff of lag present. But alas, work got in the way so I resolved in confidence to play it over the festive period, when I have some time off, but to my horror, I have returned home to find that when I open the game to play (at this point vanilla, no mods installed), the lag has returned with a vengeance. I am currently re-installing the game right now but surely there must be a solution to this other than to keep on re-installing every time I want to play? I have tried many suggestions - CCleaner, De-fragging, un-installing unnecessary programs, de-selecting unnecessary background Windows services at boot, graphics tweaking, hard-drive cleaning, frame-rate boosters, all sadly to no avail. And surely the fact that the game can run perfectly after being re-installed proves that it is not a graphics issue? As I said, this machine can run it flawlessly on High normally - what has changed over the past few months? My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L855-10P with an Intel Core i7-3610QM @2.30 GHz with an AMD Radeon HD 7670M graphics card with 2GB of VRAM and 8GB of RAM. I am running Windows 7 with bags of room on my hard-drive. This is an extremely mystical and frustrating problem that is ruining my Christmas! Please, if you have any solution to offer, I would welcome your help! Many thanks in anticipation of any response, Tom

How to launch with mods after new hard drive?
alltheseducks posted a topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I recently switched to a new hard drive. I backed up everything and I've loaded it onto the new one fine, but I'm not sure what to do with Nexus Mod Manager. It's still there, and when I open it, it recognizes all the games I have installed and it still has all my mods. However, when I tried loading my save, it said all the mods were missing. The game and NMM are installed on the same drive, however it's not my C drive. How do I get the game to load with my mods? -
I get the following errors: > Failed to create "W:\ModOrganiser\FO4 SE\profiles". Your user account probably lacks permission. > failed to set up data path The hard drive W died and I had to reinstall Fallout 4 on D. I attempt to launch MO and it flashes me these errors and fails to launch entirely. I couldn't find Mod Organizer in the list of installed programs so I simply deleted the installation folder and installed again. Same problem. I looked for any files left over from the old installation but couldn't find any. I am running it "as administrator" on the system Administrator account! Edit 1: Have successfully uninstalled/reinstalled. No change.

Hey, So I've been modding skyrim using the Nexus Mod Manager for well over a year with no issues. I recently bought a new PC however, and now some mods aren't appearing in-game, nor will they register with the MCM. I've checked the load order, putting SkyUI above all other mods, uninstalled and reinstalled both Skyrim, Nexus Mod Manager, as well as SKSE (manually from their website as some people suggest). Also I should mention I have an SSD and a HD on this new PC, whereas I only had one drive on my old PC (which worked fine) - I keep pretty much all my files on the HD, and specifically install both the mod manager and Skyrim on the same drive. The mods with issue are 'Enhanced Blood Textures' and 'Skyrim Flora Overhaul' - though these are the only mods I've tried, I'm sure other mods I'd like to try won't work either, (I don't know why these mods wouldn't work while others would?). SkyUI, however, works perfectly fine seemingly. I had a similar issue with Skyrim Special Edition, which I got round by manually installing both of these mods. To be honest though I'd rather just use the mod manager, and I can't see why it shouldn't work. Anyway let me know if you have any suggestions, or if I'm being an idiot. Cheers.

Hi Nexus Community, My rig has reached the end of its days and I've assembled a new PC. I have a very cleanly modded Fo4 and Skyrim SE game that I would like to transfer over to my new PC. However, it's not as simple a matter as redownloading my modlist in Nexus; I've made many changes to the individual mods using xEdit in order to improve compatibility, functionality, etc. The question I'm hoping somebody may be able to answer is: How do I transfer my existing load order to a new PC while preserving the edits I have made to those individual mods? It would take me days to identify and recreate all of the individual edits I have made over time and I'd really like to dispense with all that, if possible. Is it as simple a matter as following the normal back-up protocol normally used for modding (i.e. copy your Data Folder, your Ini, Install Info, Plugins) as well as copy/pasting the Nexus Mod Manager/Fallout 4/ folder, then opening Nexus and doing...something? Or is it a bit more involved than that/outright impossible? Any guidance on this would be very much appreciated. D. Dark
